  1. I noticed, if you're trying to steal a 'flagged' (Reddish background, Yellow mask) item, then yes, they don't like that. Also, depending on if you're in stealth or not, the items themselves are marked with red backgrounds if you are in sight of someone. If you're successfully hiding there's no red background. And I did think early game, that lockpicking 'flagged' chests was free XP, but late game I did notice a Faction hit on picking a lock.
  2. Spell Resistance is one of the ones you have to really read the ability description on. If you're lucky, you'll notice that some of them say that you resist hostile Spells. If it doesn't say that, it will resist all Spells, including your own (Like the weakness of Mage Slayer Barbarians).
  3. Summoned weapons all have the 'xxxx scales with Power level' on the stats... anyone try Empowering one, just to compare / see?
  4. Maia is the only companion that has a reasonable shot at finding hidden stuff. And giving her high Perception is quite good. Companions / Sidekicks seem to be built with intentionally bad stats for reasons (rpg? bad rolls? who knows).
  5. Helwalker/Fury should be fine, you can always use Scepters (I think it was) to self damage yourself for Wounds at range. Helwalkers take a bit to get used to, esp. early game, as they can self destruct due to wounds causing them to take +50% more damage. Druid should be able to help counter that, with buffs and heals... Not a tank character though, should be decent dps / support.
  6. Tooltip bug, if you fight with it for a while, you can find the character using it will poison people, by reading their log. Don't recall the damage, but nothing impressive.
  7. Miscreants is nice (as mentioned) it only has 5% Recovery with its buff, and can be enchanted to add an additional Quickslot (More Grimoires). Cabalist Gambeson is nice, Starts as 9 Armor, 20% Recovery, can add +2 Armor Vs. Spells and one of a) +15% Beneficial effect Duration b) +15% Negative effect Duration (can't remember the wording, but it gives your debuffs longer duration). *Bugged currently only giving 7 Armor* Fleshmender, another Leather, 12 Armor, 20% Recovery, 5 Hp Healed per 12 Sec, -20% Crit Damage. Also, dumping points into Metaphysics for the Chromatic Staff feels like a much better idea, than History for Saves; unless you're soloing or something. Seems to give about 1.5% Action speed (and +Staff Damage) per point, added to the 10% base. And a Damage Resistance based off Metaphysics Enchant.
  8. She's always going on about Eothas, and Guan; but if you click on 'Harvester of Guan' under Core Priest Spells, on Character Sheet, levelling, or previewing level tree it shows 'Priests of Berath automatically learn the following spells at the appropriate Power Level'
  9. I've seen this as well, when the enemy shapechanges (Druid Shapeshift for mine) and dies, they revert back to original body, upright.
  10. Has an Enchant 'Saints Grace'. Reads: Aura Range 10m. +30% Action Speed (Increases as Health is Lost) But looking at the Tooltip for Recovery on the Party, its showing as +0% Saints Grace. If the character with the bow takes some damage, the % increases. So, I'm guessing the weapon is 0% Action Speed, increasing up to 30% as Health is Lost?
  11. Bad Enchantment description, a few of us reported this earlier, but if you check your combat log it is doing some damage... I think it was 12 damage per 6, or something.
  12. Hitting things with the Mace applies Judge, you need to hit again, to be damaging the Judged guy and have it count. Put a Shield on with the Mace, and let that character beat on something by themselves for a couple fights. I found that my Fighter was basically hitting things once (and applying the buff) before the rest of the party killed it, and that basically kept happening. After trying this (letting him solo) I went from 0 to 250 in two fights.
  13. Rogues Paralyzing Sap adds confusion, Fun stuff, when you are doing interesting attack group tricks The bow mentioned by Urocyn, is Saint Omaku's Mercy. It does 10 HP healing for allies on Kill (Increases with Religion) but who cares. More importantly it has an aura that is +30% Action Speed (Increases as Health is Lost) 10 m Aura *Although I'm not certain its working properly, judging by Tooltip info on inspection*. Good Enchantment. Can also Enchant for no Recovery on Crit. Baby Boar (Pet) and Melee Weapons, great combo... Boar gives 'Melee weapons Interrupt', and +10% Slash Damage)
  14. Looking at the differences in PoE 1 and 2 for comparison, it's like we've taken PoE 1, and added a free, automatic rest between every fight. In order for any encounter to have any sort of impact, it needs to wound one of your characters, otherwise you are ready for the next fight. From a balancing perspective, that does mean they are trying to hit a very small window, difficult enough to have a reasonable chance to wound one of your characters, not so hard that you're running a Total Party Kill. Even if you end up getting a wound per character, per fight, Resting (as stands) is fairly meaningless to repair the damage. With the difficulties in balancing the difficulty levels not yet worked out, and the vast difference in player skill (Not implying that some players are unskilled, but the difference between a 'causal' player, and someone that min maxes and has a highly efficient / tweaked party) I have problems seeing how they are ever going to hit that sweet spot, with the current system. Perhaps higher difficulty levels need different mechanics to some degree; on Veteran you don't regain your abilities per encounter, on PoTD you don't regain abilities and have a PoE1 HP system of health, and on these modes you get some limited number of Rests. Even something like this, or having the food / inn buffs wearing off quicker, would only 'slow down' someone by forcing them to leave the area and return, unless the dungeon / fights respawn when you leave, which really doesn't have the PoE feel.
  15. The wizzy you rob in Nekata, in the Overlook, has a few good ones. Especially the Raw damage fireball.
  16. I'm finding Barbarian (playing a Helwalker / Berserker) does a lot less area than I initially expected. Admittedly, with Berserker you don't really want piles of area damage, from a character that will hit friends with it... Maybe its the -5 Int crippling the size, but I thought it would be a much bigger concern (I skipped the +Accuracy Carnage talent to help with it also).
  17. 1680*1050, default text size, happens a lot. Although when I first started the game it had some crazy high non supported resolution, so maybe the games assumption is that everyone's running something crazy.
  18. For interrupts, I like the Boar Party Pet. Makes everyones melee attacks interrupt, and slashing bonus.
  19. My Glass Cannon mellee monster, that has no defense abilities or healing til high level can't tank the damage that's supposed to be spread over 5 characters!!! What *****. Talk about solo unfriendly, the game plays as if you are supposed to have multiple characters or something. Grrrr. Frustrating.
  20. When there is an opinion we don't like we find a pejorative label for the person who has that opinion and we try to discredit them with that label, so that their opinion doesn't count anymore. Let's just admit it already. Let's stop this game of pretending to be nice. Let's say it how it is: If someone's opinion doesn't match our own then that person's opinion is invalid per default. And by giving that person a label we justify that. So when can we finally start to actually discuss actual opinions without trying to discredit the person who has that opinion in order to make their opinion invalid? This was originally a post about the negative reviews, being due to bugs... As for why you think that I have a different opinion than the negative reviewers I'm not sure, interesting assumption. I also think any positive review by random Steam users is completely worthless. If you were walking down the street and some absolutely random person had a sign up saying 'Ask me about xxxx Game' would you care what they were saying? I would much rather have a discussion about what a professional reviewer thought about the game. Someone with a known track record, saying this is a game I liked / disliked could actually be meaningful (and much more likely to be well thought out than the spur of a moment complaint / gushing). You could look back over their history, of games they've reviewed and you had an opinion on, you could decide if you generally like the same sort of game etc... Professionals (hopefully) would have enough knowledge (or be able to research the producers of a game) to give an opinion of the game as is, perhaps with a mention of 'x feature currently isn't working well', and not have their article devolve into "the game is unplayable because PotD isn't hard enough" or some other random complaint. Just to test it, I just loaded up Steam, and read the first two negative reviews I could find and they were basically the garbage that I expected. One insisted the game was a bug filled mess and that you should wait until all the DLC and 'Final Patch' were out. The next listed off all the 'broken' features which aren't broken (maybe they're not working 100% for 100% of the people but that's not the same). According to this rando, you can't explore the game world, import save files, or progress a quest. And, to be 'fair' the first positive review, was 10/10 'The Gay druid turns into a Manshark'. So... yeah.
  21. I wouldn't say it's a bad idea to gun down enemy ships... but I've found it more efficient to board them (after chasing them down, not ramming off the start for massive self inflicted injuries). Getting into drawn out gun battles tends to mean injuries to my crew, repair damage to my boat, less loot, and generally just a pain in the butt. Boarding gets you a massive Morale bonus (share the coin), and you rarely have injuries or repairs to deal with, and more loot recieved. Mid / Late game, especially if you have been gathering companions, you have a very large 'boarding' party ready to fight (I give them all range weapons when not in party), and if you want even more #s to fight the enemy, your 'hired' adventurers (the created characters from Inns) will fight as well. Since you can level up your main party, and then swap in the 'extras' so they get caught up on levels, you don't even have to take the 'extras' out to train their levels for effective ship combat.
  22. Maybe you got hit by some kind of rando bug, or your console creatures were having problems... But this isn't how it worked for me. Initially I ran a few fights, just letting Eder use it however he felt like, and I noticed after 5? fights that he was still at 0 / 250. So, re read the item, and he only counts the damage on an already Judged target, so I figured he was only able to hit it once (and apply Judge at that point) before the mobs were killed. Without unbinding / rebinding it, or doing anything as far as changing the setup, I decided to let Eder solo mobs for a few fights, while I let the rest of the party dealt with everything else. 2 Fights later, had it unlocked. As for the Soulbinding working differently per class, it is annoying but you can always just unbind it (and have to relevel it) on a different character / class.
  23. Don't think its just Rods, my Barbarian / Monk often triggers Stagger from Gatecrashers, on non primary target. Don't know why it wouldn't be intended to work this way..
  24. There are a lot of different items that use seemingly random skills for bonus. Just a couple examples, Xoti's Lantern uses Religion, Arbelest (sp?) in Nekata uses Arcana, Spear in Sayuka uses Stealth, Cignath Mor has one that uses Survival... Alchemy provides some fairly high bonus' if you want to use drugs, which is a great way to up skills that you only use occasionally, while Arcana gets you access to spells if you feel like sitting around reading scrolls in combat.
