  2. Kershaw and relievers pitch 2 hit ball but a single unearned is the difference as Cards beat Dodgers 1-0 in game 2.
  3. Yeah. Makes me happy the Sawx won't have to see him in game 1 or game 2. They almost certainly won't have to see Scherzer in game 1 either. But the Sawx will likely face both twice if it goes seven, and Sanchez is no slouch. Sanchex vs Lester The Tiger's weak link is their bullpen - which frankly sucks. LA vs StL shapes up like this: 1) Greinke vs Kelly 2) Kershaw vs Wacha 3) ? vs Wainwright Going to be an interesting series.
  4. No. The radioactive material at Chernobyl is comprised of Cesium 137, Strontium 90, and Plutonium 241 which have half-lives on the order of 15 to 30 years. (The Iodine 131 has a half life measured in days so its likely decayed into other forms.) That means that unless the site has been fully decontaminated there is still fissile material around. Plutonium 241 will decay to Americum 241 which has a half-life of 432 years. So the radioactive material is not likely gone. The fact that the containment shroud has failed and needs to be replaced should be evidence of that. As Rostere mentioned, the damage from radioactive material is from gamma emitters (X-rays).

  7. Well the article did say that he was "dry tasered". Maybe he just did his best puppy impersonation and peed on the side of a plane?
  8. I remember seeing Puppetmaster. Paul LeMat and magic puppets (e.g. Blade and Shredder Kahn) vs Nazis. LOL I didn't realize there were ten movies all told.
  9. Detroit did almost the same thing by using Scherzer in relief against Oakland. That means Verlander gets the game 5 start with 4 days of rest. What's the word on Kershaw? Is he starting the first game of the NLCS on short rest (so the dodgers can try to get three starts in with him)?
  10. Season 1 is available in the US on Blue-Ray. It's called Chris Ryan's Strike Back. The current pricing is ridiculous (48$ on Amazon). Although the discs are supposed to be all region compatable, they are 1080i/50 which won't play on all players. Interesting. Because according to this article, Cinemax is to air original UK 'Strike Back' season as 'Strike Back: Origins'. So the first season is on DVD under Chris Ryan's Strike Back but will be called Stike Back: Origins on TV in the U.S. Great. So after it airs on Cinemax people in the US will be able to buy a region 1 DVD version and possibly a Blu-ray version that will really play on all players. I'm in. LOL @ Prince Broody McBroodypants
  11. As a Cowboys fan, I can relate to Chargers fans at least a little bit, because my team also has a recent history chock full of underachieving, blowing leads, and losing games in the most painful ways imaginable. Mediocrity and disappointment is what I've come to expect. On the bright side, the Cowboys will finish around .500 like they do every year, just bad enough to not make the playoffs, but not bad enough to get a good draft pick, and the cycle of mediocrity and disappointment will continue. /headbutts wall There was a great article about Tony Romo in ESPN. Of all the QBs in the NFL Romo has the third highest QBR in the fourth quarter - higher than Drew Brees and just behind Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. On the flip side, he also leads all QB's for most interceptions ( thrown in the 4th quarter when his team has been tied or leading by 7 points or less. Matt Schaub has 6 (Surprisingly, Brady and Matt Ryan have 7 each). And Romo's QBR in the first 12 minutes of the 4th quarter is 80 (second best behind Peyton Manning) but in the last three minutes, it drops to a below average 44. The NFC East is so bad that I could see the Cowboys finishing under .500 and still making the playoffs. The Giants are just a total train wreck and Washington isn't a lot better.

  16. #17? The Giants are going to be drafting way before that. Possibly in the top 3. Bad news for Giants fans ... every year for the last 10 years, the Giants have had a worse record in the second half of the season than in the first half. Without fail. At least one more loss and on the average two. I
  17. And so does Mark Sanchez with twice as many playoff victories (as Tebow) and an above .500 record over the same time ....
  18. Tim Tebow's career summarized in a single pic:
  19. Yeah, at least he's going into a situation that isn't a COMPLETE disaster, and has Purple Jesus to work with.Indeed, Freeman might have passed the Browns He might have. It wouldn't surprise me if he had offers from Oakland, Buffalo, and Cleveland and passed on all of those.
  20. There are a couple of Dune licenses floating around. Westwood (and then EA) owned the license based off of Lynch's film. That license would revert to Universal. Cryo has/had another one but I don't remember the details.
