  1. and shiny too .... wax on, wax off Dang, I've got an amusing motivational picture with that caption.. but after the body paint images it would be pushing this thread too far.. So how about we just go with something incredibly pink.. I like the pink. Send me the pic in a pm.
  2. Spent the entire morning working with the wife on the landscaping in the side yard. Finished a 40 foot long x 6 foot wide bed; weeded, tilled, amended the soil, rearranged and replanted a bunch of stuff and then mulched the bed. GAK! We're both filthy so it's going to be a long soak in the Jacuzzi and then splash down in front of the TV to watch a movie.
  3. Are you sure Bruce? I know CNN just announced that the Senate had agreed on a deal but it also said it wasn't clear how the House would react. I hope you're right though because this bovine scatology has gone on way too long.
  4. Mal, I did an edit - that might account for the confusion.
  5. It's not like the author went off the beaten track to find them. Those locations all sit along 750+ km of the M10 - E105 main highway from St. Petersburg to Moscow. Just because they aren't all flattering doesn't make them inaccurate. The US isn't perfect but neither is Russia.
  6. Edit: I expect the Dodgers and Angels to make a major place for Price. Especially the Angels because their pitching sucks big time. Followed a couple of links and found this artcile about the situation with Schiano. http://tbo.com/sports/bucs/fennelly-bucs-mess-just-cant-end-well-20131013/ should have posted this in the NFL thread
  7. Russia and child labor (waiting for the predictable denials, excuses, claims that we "westlings don't understand Russian culture" and cries of western butthurt from Oby our resident ultra-nationalist troll) http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/15/world/child-labor-index-2014/index.html?hpt=wo_t4
  8. You are not going to be able to reduce the federal budget deficit, let alone the national debt, without some very very deep budget cuts over several years. FY 2013 budget spending - 3803.4 billion FY 2013 deficit - 901.4 billion Federal debt - 17547.9 billion http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/federal_budget_detail_fy13 Cesca's analysis requires some extreme sleight of hand by back dating programs that Obama approved in his first budget into Bush's last budget, That analysis has been refuted multiple times and people still don't see thru the nonsense. But let's look at what he's done overall shall we? From the White house budget office And here's how Obama deficit spending compares to the previous presidents dating back to 1990 with forecasted deficits thru the end of Obama's second term. According to Forbes. http://www.forbes.com/sites/realspin/2012/09/03/yep-obamas-a-big-spender-just-like-his-predecessors/ Look at the following chart and in particular look at fiscal years 2010, 2011 and 2012. Even if Cesca's analysis of 2009 is right (and it isn't), Obama still nearly matches that deficit in each of the next three years. This next comment I totally agree with. Simply on the basis that will add at least 1.4 trillion dollars to the public debt over the next ten years. We have simply got to start realizing that we can spend like this indefinitely. It's madness. And Obama's health care act isn't going to provide Universal health care anyway.
  9. You're right about the lack of run support. The A's did beat Detroit 1-0 but not Verlander as JV went 7 scoreless innings in that game and got a no-decision. The guy has given up one run in 23 innings pitched over 3 games.
  10. Red Sox - Detroit already started. In the top of the 5th inning, no score.
  11. Pirates!!! Black Sails on Starz produced by Michael Bay Coming in January 2014 http://www.starz.com/originals/blacksails/videos#/black-sails-official-trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aigIJGeykI
  12. Vilma was on short term IR so he can't practice for six weeks and can't play for the first eight. If that's right, he will miss Buffalo but will be back for the Jets.
  13. Some appropriately placed blood spatters and you're good to go.
  14. Yeah. That was bush league.
  15. Saints needed one extra first down to run out the clock with 1:13 to go and New England out of timeouts and couldn't get it. One extra first down and the defense doesn't even get back on the field. And before that they had two chances to put the game away with a touchdown and came away with field goals. Did you even watch the game? Probably not. Romo's interception was the turning point of the Dallas-Denver game. And it does matter if the score is 10-10 or 48-48 when Romo throws his pick. What does matter is that his pick gave Denver's offense the opportunity to run down the clock, kick the winning field goal and give Dallas no chance to come back. Pity that those points were lost on you with your simple "Duhr, duhr, New Orleans gave up 30 points ....".
  16. New England scores with 5 secs left to beat New Orleans 30 - 27. Great game. New Orleans should have been able to put this game away and the offense couldn't do it.
  17. Pity about Copper being cancelled. Thought it was fairly decent. Hadn't seen the second season and probably won't by it now.
  18. The HE-111 pic is decent but the rest are mediocre.
  19. Filets with mushrooms, grilled asparagus, and sliced roasted potatoes
  20. Sounds like a great trip. Did you dive at the back wall of Molokini Crater?
  21. Uchiyama say "Red Sox have hole(s) in their swing". I was surprised that Sanchez lasted 6 innings, I didn't think he would make it thru the 5th.
