  1. I am the type of person who wants both. I want good challenging combat so I know that there is a risk, something at stake if I fail while at the same time have a good well told story that immerses me into the game world. Bioware did this with BG and BG2, but failed to do so since then.
  2. Start the game as a Jedi?!?!?! Do you want a game that has negative challenge to it?
  3. You are still forced to play a Jedi. One of the things I hated in the first game.
  4. I am going to say the first game. The second is a hand me down game to a fledging company. Sure it has some good veteren designers and programmers in it, but it is still a fledgling company. Also the game has more restrictions in character development and I just hate that. At least in the first one you aren't forced to play a Jedi from the beginning.
  5. A good story would be nice, but so would a challenge in gameplay.
  6. Have you seen the game statistics of a Jedi? I have read and played the Star Wars d20 System game and they are freaking powerful SOBs. This is well represented in the CRPG. They are munchkin characters.
  7. Exactly my point. KotOR was too freaking easy because it was so Jedi/Force centric. Only part of the whole freaking game I had even a remote challenge was the last area and even that was a bit of a cake walk.
  8. Could have fooled me. Every Star Wars game I have played and seen has to do with the FOrce and Jedis. Jedi Outcast, KotOR, Jedi this and Jedi that. Keep up witht the Munchkin tradition Obsidian.
  9. Jedis are the Drizzt of Star Wars. Good for only munchkin players.
  10. My thoughts of KotOR2 is that it will be a fairly poor game. FIrst off it is a Bioware Hand me down. That alone makes me wary of the gtame. Secondly it looks like the sequel will have the same weaknesses as the original. Combat was pretty bad in the first game and I don't see it changing in the second game. I also don't see much replayability as well. KotOR had 2 replays and I am expecting KotOR2 to have that as well. Another problem with the original which I don't seeing changing in the second is the severe limitations of character creation. At least in the first game you aren't forced to start out as a Force user. I mean there is more to Star Wars than the Jedi and the Force. I would have perfered to see those aspects explored more, but it looks like that isn't going to happen. Its going to be another Force fest which relates to another problem with KotOR that will be in KotOR2: it will be way too easy. Force users in the Star Wars d20 game are a munchkin's wet dream and it shows in the CRPG. I found the game way too easy and KotOR2 looks like it will be in the same camp. In the short of it if I want to play a Star Wars CRPG where I am a Jedi I will play the original again. KotOR2 is going to have nothing that I will be interested in.
  11. Another way to make the game to have harder combat is to not force the player to have to take munchkin character classes. Oh wait, Star Wars is all about the Jedis.
  12. We can't dismiss the possibility of both.
  13. bioware takes it up the ass Thats probably why they made deals with Microshaft.
  14. This is supposed to be a CRPG, not an adventure or fighting game.
  15. Easter eggs are worthless additions and not overly important in the games design.
  16. So says the Bioware Fan boy.
  17. And this was worth starting a new thread about?
  18. So, are you saying that we can make a non-human PC?
  19. I remember back in the days of the first Bush saying that Iraq wouldn't be a second Vietnam. Boy, was he so wrong. Gawds, I can't wait for W. Bush and his thugs are out of the office.
  20. Not that it matters any more. I quit that job 4 months ago.
  21. Then let the UN do it or let the Iraqis do it for themselves.
  22. You aren't the only one. I am most definitely passing by this game.
  23. IWD's focus wasn't the story though. IWD's focus was the action. You also need to take a good look at what the game is trying to accomplish and what its primary target audience is. IWD primary target audience was the Diablo hack and slash gamers, but to give them better strategic combat. BG2's target audience was the fanbase of BG1 and thusly it gave a wider story arc building from the first game.
  24. I view IWD and BG2 pretty much the same except for the focus of the games. IWD was a purely a hack and slash CRPG while BG2 was more of a story based CRPG. Same quality, different focus.
