  1. I wouldn't mind playing a rodian scoundrel/scout who uses his skills to have a comfortable life and stay away from such meaningless conflicts of morality and idealogy.
  2. Neriana, yes, Rule Zero applies but only in PnP, not on the computer. In PnP players can pick and choose what rules apply and what rules don't, but on the computer the player HAS NO CHOICE. Developers need to follow the rules of the game as closely as possible because they are representing the product. If they don't you might as well tell them that is okay for them to put "Dungeons and Dragons" as a label but have nothing of the rules in the game WHICH IS STUPID.
  3. Shadow Paladin, you are so wrong that it is downright pathetic that you don't see it. Bethesda made their own rules with Morrowind. Bioware used the d20 System instead of making their own rules.
  4. Thats good for homebrew campaigns, but not in an "official" product.
  5. They didn't make their own rules for it is based on something else.
  6. You either follow the rules of the game or the game means nothing. I have no problem of them making a CRPG based on the Star Wars setting but if they are going to use an established rules system use it in total (or at least 70%). If you don't or can't use the established rules system because of whatever the reason then MAKE YOUR OWN BLOODY RULES. Trying to fit a PnP game to a computer is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole so why bother. It would make a whole lot more sense to make a rules system that fits on the computer and keep PnP rules in PnP environments.
  7. That is why I prefer skill based systems than class base systems, SP.
  8. They could be a little more flexible don't you think. Just look at KotOR. Why the hell can't a woman get a massage from another woman? There is nothing sexual about a massage. That is just stupid.
  9. If you are going to make a game based on an established rules set and setting you must adhere to that rules set and setting as close as possible otherwise what is the point of using that rules set and setting in the first freaking place?!?!?! If they are going to use the d20 System of Star Wars they shouldn't go half assed at it like they did with KotOR. If they didn't want to do it right or couldn't do it right, they should have done something else. I want to playa game that isn't half assed.
  10. Speaking of Enema-man, I like to know what Bioware, and other companies, have against lesbian and gay romances. I mean I had a pretty hot human paladin chickie who would have loved to go at it with Viconia. HAHAHAHAHA!
  11. After the Dec 8th I wen back to hound and harass Black Isle til I got IP banned. I was so pissed at them for that I just had to vent, but now I have mellowed out a bit and mostly post here and Bioware, occasionally I go to the Mistress Lair and Winterwind.
  12. Quite simple how one can do this and still be effective. First you start out in a small out of the way village type environment where you family lives may the be famers, slaves, merchants, or something in between. Its generic and can be filled in reasonably well with any character type. No biggie. Sure it isn't epic but why start epic when its best to build up to being epic. I want the ability to create a character that I see fit. It allows me to get into the game if I have I connection with my character which is gained during the creation process. I don't mind the developers dictate the characters past before I play the character as long as I can make a character I want to play and have full power on how he or she develops, both story and rules wise, as I play the game. Once the game is started the character is mine.
  13. Well, I prefer a full character creation system in my CRPGs thank you very much. That was a major fault in PS:T's design and why it is in the #2 position as one of my favorite games ever instead of #1. The d20 System of Star Wars allows a full range of different characters with combinations of class, race, feats, and skills. I would like to see that accurately done in a PC game.
  14. Strange Days is a good movie, but lets stay on topic. I just hope I will be able to play a character that I want to play and which I have the freedom to develop, both in character and rules wise, as I wish. If Obsidian guys can do that I will buy this game and love it. I don't want to play a freaking Jedi. I hate Jedi. They are only ubermunchkin characters that have no place in a role playing game.
  15. The Jedi are crap because they could decimate everything. There was no freaking balance to the game whatsoever. They should at least balance out the Jedi and non-Jedi a bit better in the sequal. I would like a reason to have a non-jedi around. Hell, I would love to play a non-Jedi.
  16. One way to solve that is using the multiple beginning paths story hooks. You create your character and based on character creation choices and outlooks it shuttles you to one beginning point and the game evolves from there (and don't forget good length of gameplay). Add in multiple branching points for possible endings you could theoretically make a game that would have a multitude of replayability. It will never happen, but it would be a near perfect game.
  17. Thing is if I want to play PS:T I would load it up on my computer. I prefer something a little more innovative and original in a new game.
  18. Why should the player be forced to play a specific character in a CRPG? Might as well make it an adventure or action platform game instead of a CRPG then. In the d20 Star Wars game we as players can create a multitude of successful character types without being a Jedi or having force powers. I want a CRPG like that, not a PS:T wannabe.
  19. The number one thing that would make it more fun, at least for me, is the ability not to become a Jedi. I don't want to play a Jedi, I want no Jedi in my party, and I want to hunt and kill all force users. I hate Jedi (as well as Sith). I am sick of it always being Jedi or Sith. Jedi or sith this, Jedi or Sith that, and Jedi or Sith flaming underoos. I DON'T WANT TO PLAY A JEDI!
  20. I didn't want to play a good or evil Jedi. I just wanted to play a scoundrel/scout type who uses stealth, computer systems, and security along with droids to solve problems and overcome adversaries who has an enlighten self interest sort of world view.
  21. Yeah, but there needs to be some logic put in place otherwise things just get silly.
  22. I just want to make a dedicated Han Solo/Lando type character who uses his tongue and only a blaster when the deal goes bad. I find all the swords rather silly. You either had swords or energy weapons and nothing in bewteen. Where the hell are the slug throwers?
  23. I just find them terribly boring.
  24. The idea of ToEE's openings were a good idea, but poorly implemented as you say. In the bank scenerio I gave the players involved got themselves right in the mix of it. I was expecting them to keep their heads down, but the scrawny computer hacker snuck behind the head woman and wrestled her to the ground while the other (an off duty secret service agent) was trying to use that distraction to take out two more baddies. Lets just say things got a bit messy when the necklace of missiles got used.
