  1. It IS. For instance, ID Software's new monster engine is OpenGL based. Hmm, I kinda ment if you put "Requires latest Direct X" on a game people are going to think "w00t graphixzorz", but if you put "Requires Open GL" people are going to think "What? Does it run on my comp?" The typical gamer wouldn't know the difference between Direct X and Open GL. The gamer that does knows it doesn't matter.
  2. The topic title was misleading. The UN was not hacked, their website was. I was thinking computers at at a UN building had been hacked, not some webhost.
  3. I made a review on this movie in the last thread saying it was aweosm and had people getting hit in the face and trains killing people and you don't say anything but all the sudden muso comes out of the wood work thinking hes cool becuase he watches anime or something and you'll watch it now. Don't expect us to be friends anymore. :'( I'm going to watch a movie tonight, just not sure which one. Maybe zodiac, hard candy, or the pursuit of happiness. Did someone type something? I don't see an avatar, must have just been some copy blurb on the page, pay it no mind.
  4. I'm not from Africa! I prefer the term "color gifted."
  5. Painkiller! Actually quite fun. But not one of those games that engrosses me. I'll probably be playing it off and on for a while with other games here and there or until one game in particular grabs me for a period. Deus Ex might be the perfect example as I'm dying to give it a replay.
  6. Hey. Have any of you guys seen my wallet?
  7. I think that must be the one good thing about having another company make a sequel to one company's work. Their absolute readiness to mock and deride the previous company's efforts for cheap laughs!
  8. Why can't you play it on your 60" plasma with DX10 graphics?
  9. I could photoshop a pipe into mine if you'd like.
  10. Mega Man 2 was the only Mega Man game I ever owned! Wood Man is in 2. lol at the NA boxart. Even as a child, I knew it was wrong that Megaman was holding a gun on the cover.
  11. I now have to see this.
  12. Why would you want to turn off auto-aim on a console? Only time I ever did that was with Perfect Dark and only with the 1-hit kill option on. Controller aiming is too imprecise, you need the game to make up the last bit for you.
  13. Silver Surfer for the NES was up there.
  14. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G0-T0#G0-T0 See if that helps. According to it, G0T0 felt that the planet had too many priceless artifacts.
  15. Aboot time!
  16. I'm going to have to try the demo. I fear it will run horribly on my current PC. Especially if I want to play at a widescreen res.
  17. I think the media is slow sometimes, which can be very annoying. Case in point: http://www.dentonrc.com/sharedcontent/dws/...r.2a782847.html There was nothing to be found on this yesterday. I looked. My friend in Denton called me at 5PM to look for him because he'd been without power for 7 and 1/2 hours on the hottest day of the year. Nothing. Newspapers were more concerned with selling the next day's paper than they were about giving the public information in this case. This isn't always the way it goes, but it's damned annoying when it is.
  18. It varies. God does it vary. It varies so much I think the collective "the media" is nonsensical. As "the media" will often present conflicting opinions and degrees of opinions on the same issue. Some of these may serve the public interest, some may not. I think a good question to ask in this debate is "what is the public interest?" As that varies as well.
  19. I was under the impression that Bioshock was a "scary FPS in the vein of Shock2."
  20. Consoles have unique services and games that PCs don't always get. As well as the uniformity that enhances compatability with the games and simplicity for consumers.

    Last meal

Rotini and Alfredo, a French Vanilla capuccino, and an Alagoas Curassow cooked in no particular way. Perhaps some Arakan Forest Turtle soup.
  22. Too bad they were identical in combat. If you send a guy to hack a door, it'll just as likely be Sev as Fixer. If you send someone to snipe, it'll as likely be Scorch as Sev. And you won't notice a difference. About the only one who has a unique feature is Boss with his wristblade.
  23. One thing I like about Ammon Jerro is that he's not misunderstood. No, he's actually a jerk. It didn't turn out he was killing those people to save the world, no he was being a vindictive ass. However, he also wanted to save the world.
  24. Deus Ex: Invisible War has some good endings. None of them are "bad endings." In the sense that they're less interesting than the others or imply failure. Heck, one of the endings where you side with a bad guy seems easily as good as the one where you side with the good guys. I also think it's terrific to note that the good guys in the game are pursuing a course that's so drastic and out there that in any any other game, they would have been the bad guys. And for that it had me doubting them until the very end. All in all, TERRIFIC GAME! A little dumbed down from the last one, regrettably. Most notably in the augmentation department. But the ones present were pretty nice. Domination was awesome. I would run in with my thermal, tag a giant robot, find a hiding place, then mow down all his pals.
