  1. Which of those is you? It's number 4, isn't it?

    Korea

Why are people talking about North Korea like they are lead by rational people? Frankly I'm expecting the North Korean Old Guard to go "Well chaps, we're getting old. This is boring, we'll die soon. Wouldn't it suck to die without leaving a legacy? Those ****ing Americans and their South Korean dogs, let's give them something to remember." And boom, World War 3! Does it qualify as World War 3 if it's just the world against one country?
  3. But yet things go over their heads. Huh? He's talking about hats.
  4. That looks not dissimilar from Zevran's concept art. Just needs a cape/cloak.

I know that both Gamestop in the US and Game in the UK have loyalty programs. http://www.poweruprewards.com/ This is actually a new system. They used to have an old system. Came with a Game Informer subscription! Bonus credit on trade-ins! http://www.game.co.uk/RewardProgram/ I'm not sure where "here" is in your case.
  6. Not exactly news. I'm reading a 2004 reposting of a 1989 article Ron Gilbert wrote. http://grumpygamer.com/2152210 In it he denounces Have things changed much in the past 21 years? I ended up there while reading topics on trial and error gameplay. It's something he discusses later in the article.

Why are people discussing long range attacks from North Korea? As if their major enemy isn't on their border.
  9. It's like you people forgot about the romance Imoen requests back in the day. But she was only an adopted sister! Then we found out that no, she's blood. And they still made the mod. So, am I the only one hoping he ditches the family after Act 1? I've not met a family oriented plot that didn't annoy me, unless the family was trying to kill each other. Maybe it's just having played Fallout 3 and the PC's dad obsession fresh on my mind.

Unless you want to get a discount at their store. Ever. Usually only on used games.
  11. Metro 2033 The beginning is paced pretty terribly. In like the first 3 "levels" or so, you have a segment you must lose, a pitiful single room defense mission, and another pitiful on rails segment. Getting the three worst FPS tropes out of the way as fast as they can, it seems.
  12. What do you have against yurts? Mongols lived in yurts. You wish you could be as cool as them.
  13. I saw The Next Three Days sometime last week. Actually thought it was quite good. I give it better credit than the critics, at least.
  14. I am the vague thread title of "what do?" on the general forum of a game you just started playing. I am the oddly colored text on dark background that causes eyestrain when you try to read it. I am the terror that flaps in the night! I am Darkwing Duck!
  15. I'd call both Diablo and Oblivion dungeon crawlers AND RPGs. But maybe I'm being too literal on what dungeon crawler is.
  16. We're more talking about pre-order exclusives.
  17. Assassin's Creed 2 soured me on DLC/exclusive missions already. The one I had was just a platforming/chase mission, of which there were like two or three others in the game already. Or the Mass Effect 2 Normandy crash site. Which was literally just wandering around looking for shiny spots.
  18. Does Monte want a hug?
  19. The thing I dislike about them is I'm kind of getting into a purist phase. These things are rarely tested or balanced. And sometimes their visuals aren't up to quality. Like the Weathered 10mm, which is the only gun you can expect to have early on that's very effective against small radscorpions. It's better than every weapon you'll find until you probably hit Vegas. And the armor is better than you'll find until on the way to Novac. But the weapon doesn't handle weapon mods properly (it's probably not supposed to handle them at all) and causes visual bugs. Or the special merchant in Neverwinter Nights 2 that offered, among other high end equipment at a discount, a permanent haste item. Mass Effect 2 stuff from Steam wasn't bad, I guess. I never used any of it, except the Inferno armor for one level. I like how Red Dead Redemption did it. It was slightly overpowered, I'll grant, but it still required conditions to unlock, same as the rest. Helps that it was just so cool looking.
  20. I think approval systems are great, but DA screwed it up with really stupid gift system. You could just flood them with stupid stuff and suddenly they love you. Good point, I forgot about that element of the system as they had it.
  21. I can't disagree. But I can't look at companions just showing up for the adventuring whenever they feel like as a good thing. You do that at a tabletop RPG, they might stop reserving beer and chips for you. And I hate when it happens in strategy games. So as a combination of the two, RPGs and strategy, I can't like it. Whereas the approval system I thought was clearly an element of this that I did kind of like. It illustrated the companions as having their own sets of values, while allowing you to interact with that in a choice/consequence fashion.
