He probably lost as many to the Outcasts as he gained from recruiting locals. Though I guess that's baseless speculation. There's no real numbers presented anywhere.

Not so much an embargo as a refusal to aid.

I could use a Goblin Warlock... To go with my level 46 Undead Warlock, level 60 Gnome Warlock, and level 80 Blood Elf Warlock. Or should I do a Worgen Warlock? Y'know, to balance the sides a little. Should I just **** around with my BE Warlock to see all the changes? Serious question.

I don't see how a civil war would have been created by default. Send a new elder escorted by a dozen loyal paladins. 'sorry to inform you the bos leadership has decided because of your infractions against the codex you are being relieved'. Either the DC elder would have to abide by the rule of law (which I get the impression he prob would if push came to shove) or as you state start a fight with the west coast bos. I don't think he would risk killing any more bos members to start a civil war. In the end he was trying to save the BoS not annex his faction and just doing what he thought was best being so far away from the main group. I didn't get the impression he has a chip on his shoulder and a axe to grind against the main faction on the west coast. Elder Lyons was not trying to help the Brotherhood survive. He took it as a moral imperative to help the people of the Wasteland. He wouldn't start a fight with the west coast, but he would be damned to stop protecting the people of the DC area. Some of his own men defected because of this and are actively hostile to him for it, including his former second in command. He's basically already in a small civil war over the isse.

Was a joke against hardcore players anyway You're just mad because nobody wants a scrub like you for a raid. You should just accept that we're better than you.

but it wouldn't hurt to add some depth and drama to her story, right? I mean, I've only played the original game, I liked it, but I never felt the need to try other titles. I dunno, do you think Mario needs to have a game that revolves around his tragic drinking problem? Drama is the new sex. Cheaply insert it into something and it's miraculously 'better.'

Yes, there was some communication. They didn't replace him because they decided it wasn't worth it. I don't think the Brotherhood was exactly prepared for civil war.

Rebooting Lara Croft makes about as much sense as rebooting Mario at this point. Though I guess if they're wanting to take it a dark and edgy direction, maybe it makes a little more sense. Still, she was never a character in need of a dramatic storied history. Just a vehicle for shooting at dinosaurs and raiding tombs.

I always tended to believe it, given that you have a god helping you out. But I do like me some ambiguity.

I'd personally angle for the "overcoming drug addiction and attempted suicide after the accidental deaths of my wife and child." They never see that one coming.

If it happens, it's good for Bethsoft. It's probably good for Obsidian. I'm skeptical as to if it's good for me. They wouldn't be a mere publisher. They'd be the owner. Get to direct what games Obsidian works on. If they say Obsidian works on Fallout games, and only Fallout games, for the rest of its existence, that's what Obsidian would do. In my mind, that's a worst case scenario, but not too far detached from my fear. As it stands, I like that Obsidian has worked on (or is currently working on) an RPG of seemingly every genre and subgenre except MMO and turn-based. Party based, open world, dungeon crawler, shooter/cinematic. I would personally hate to see them delegated to work on only a franchise or only a particular type. As would be relatively inevitable as the owning company would like to play it safe.

Is the bottom the actual quote? That seems less rumor and more speculation.

Apparently I got 4 paychecks today. I don't know if that means I'm caught up or not. You kind of lose track after a while.

The last three were great. Edit: Not even counting 'And the Guardian of Light.

Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare has a unicorn.

None taken - I agree on that part, but my first point stands. It's an unnecessary invasion of privacy that serves to no practical purpose. It makes the lives of those who enjoy being groped a little better. Hells yeah. It's about time things went our way!

Right, but the whole "spends half the adventure just trying to get home" bit.
 -
The first thing to come to your mind is Dungeon Siege? Really? And not the Odyssey?

I genuinely don't get the fuss over the TSA. FWhile I'm not exactly proud of my body, I don't mind showing it if I have to in order to stop it being blown into tiny tiny bits. Tiny tiny chunks are an even worse look for me than naked. The problem is that most people who are not in the business of selling those new machines and/or fearmongering for profit/re-election consider this latest step to be totally ineffective (as long as your anal cavity is not inspected, you can smuggle things on board). I'd rather die than lose my dignity, but it's probably too late for that. And I have a deathwish, anyway. Genuinely no offence, Nep. But your dignity begins and ends where you say it does. Unlike your spleen. And if he says his dignity ends with people taking pictures of his junk, I'm not sure I see a contest.

I'd be content with any of them. Even goat-herding if it's a The Hero's Journey type thing where I start off goat-herding, go fight a war, then spend the next half trying to get home to my goats.

Official forums are upgraded. I don't know what to make of it. This is the first day that its bothered actually remembering my login, so that's good.

The demo stops 5 seconds after you get a sword. It's literally "follow a path, whack a few birds and moths." That's not an exaggeration. Box art is usually more informative.
 -
For those that like Risen, do you feel that it started slow? Could you give a detailed description? The demo shows bugger all. From it I gleaned the important information that the game has 1) a monastary B) a camp III) rat-porcupine crossbreeds. And a really freaky jump animation.

I would agree with you. I think it would make better PnP than computer game, though. Simply for the appeal of options that PnP would present.
 -
Could you expand on that please? I'd hazard a guess that he's referring to the idea that RPGs nowadays are particularly ego stroking. I know we've had discussions on such before a few years back. Game world revolves around the player's character and such. As opposed to possibly more mundane fare.
