  1. There's also the fact that I had four spells that did overly similar things. The Battlemage 2nd spell, Mass Paralysis, Mind Blast, and Blood Wound. Heck, once I got the second Battlemage spell, Miasma became unnecessary as well. Tightening that up is the thing I look forward to the most.
  2. *looks up greebled*
  3. I'm hoping "fade" just means visual effect. (walking around with the improved Arcane Armor in Awakening is obnoxious when dialogue pops up) Not that you have to rebuff. If you do have to rebuff, I hope there aren't that many buffs, because that would be obnoxious.
  4. That's good to hear. Especially about talents mostly being upgrades. Hope that's true for mages, I assume so. One of my problems in DAO is that I end up with way too many spells as the levels go on. Though that mainly becomes a problem around Awakening.
  5. He does have his "I WANT YOUR BADGE!" "YOU CAN'T HAVE MY BADGE!" moments.
  6. From the LiveChat via Bioboards Glad to see combos of any sort appear again.
  7. I don't think character concept is the same as the actual writing. If it was, writing isn't even worth hiring people for.
  8. I'll agree with Gromnir on that one. I remember prior to DAO's release hoping that Combat Tactics would double as a social or problem solving skill because it was stupid as just what it ended up being. I could have considered it justified if the characters ended up going around giving tactical advice to solve quests additionally.
  9. They're talking about dwarf sex, I bet. Well they're wondering if Isabella is into lesbianism and anal. Stay classy, internet. Edit: Bioboards just reminded me of DAO's original plan for 2 years of DLC. We might gotten a second expansion instead of Witch Hunt. That's almost depressing.
  10. They're talking about dwarf sex, I bet.
  11. Brad Pitt. I don't even know that I can call it a "man crush." I would do him.
  12. I know you're just trolling, but I see that thing come up often enough that I cannot let it pass without comment. Reviews are meaningless outside of relative contemporary contexts. Maybe worse for the time it was published, but not necessarily worse for direct comparison. However, NWN got a 95? All of my RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE.
  13. I can't play BG. But BG 2 will be playable until someone else makes a game with Wild Mages.
  14. somehow it doesn't seem as if he'd played a lot of games in his life It could be true. It could be second best and he just missed the first. But skepticism does seem tempting, doesn't it?
  15. I like what I hear. But I still have to be skeptical on a few points, namely the dialogue wheel and voiced character. And decisions. Would be surprised to see Bioware truly change their approach.
  16. I'd stab ME1 in the eye with a rusted spork. If it had an eye. And I had a rusted spork.
  17. They can be satisfactory. They just struggle to be tactical.
  18. Awakening. I'm just finished doing the various side-main quests for the titular quest. And promptly spent 400 gold on runes to prepare for export.
  19. I love ME2. The setting makes me want to flip off a box of kittens. DAO's no better and we've all seen me gush over that. Thankfully, I don't buy games for the setting.
  20. Human supremacy is the thing I dislike most. It's that typical fantasy "humans are special" all over again. Like when Elves mention that humans live short, so they must live fiercely to make up for it! Which was echoed by Liara, as I recall. It's one of the more annoying cliches to me. Fiction is just too abundant with humans either being on the top or are working their way there. I'd be satisfied with equal. A nice thing about Star Wars. It's never brought up.
  21. I could maybe see that. Dragon Age has some interesting moral ambiguity in the setting that the games tend to treat with kid gloves. Setting: Mages are dangerous! Game: But only the really evil ones.
  22. I don't see the Flash Gordon. Until I see a cape, I refuse to believe anyone who claims it doesn't take itself seriously. Or spandex. Even the whole mass effect concept of altering the mass of objects is more thought than is typically put into psychic powers and FTL.
  23. I still say they should have gotten Harry Gregson-Williams.
  24. Stop doing that to him. It's m
  25. ... am having no idea what you is talking 'bout. Why would you? You have no idea who Ghaleon is. But he had a rather nice garden for an evil mage.
