For Raven's Rill, if you decline all rewards you get a deed. But I think you may still get some rewards, anyway. Like a piece of equipment. After Raven's Rill, I didn't really see as much in the way of getting things for turning down rewards. But then it might affect companion influence.

Creative Destruction has nothing on Geometry of Annihilation. Putting the points in it for health regen made it cool, but more of a gimmick compared to the awesome of GoA.

Just noticed this. Also Red Alert 3 and C&C 3 for just a few bucks each. Tiberian Sun pretty much killed my interest in these two series, but are they worth getting? C&C 3 is very good. Red Alert 3 didn't hold my interest for long.

I'm really tempted to get the Tomb Raider games. They are very good. But I'd be double dipping. Got Legend for PC, borrowed Anniversary from a friend a long time ago, and have Underworld for 360. Maybe if they were in a good pack. However, I feel comfortable recommending them. If you get 1, get all 3. They form a well connected story arc.

My initial suggestion is to verify the cache which you already did. I can only think something is off with the install. Only discussion on this on the Steam forum is another thread by you. TO GOOGLE I GO Edit: Only comes up with this and the Steampowered thread. Are you running Steam off some slightly unusual drive, maybe? Like from an external? Edit2: More google brings up the possibility that the software can't see your hard drive. Are the SATA (or whatever you're using) drivers up to date? This is from an internal hard drive, right?

It won't get nearly as stupid as Condemned 2's ending. And I take some comfort in that. They could do it deus ex machina style, have some last minute weapon, ally, or weakness show up. Computer virus, space-god, control ships. Or maybe, just maybe, it'll be a fleet battle cinematic after beating up the Reaper's leader (gotta have a boss fight). Or they'll all jump into humanoid robot skeletons at the last second and die off to assault rifles. Again. That's another possibility.
