  1. This is the problem, Wals. It wasn't using jihadi principles. It was using general terrorist attack principles. Heck, the kids at Columbine planned a very similar thing, only their bombs didn't go off. It's the misattribution that all terrorist strategies for attacking civilian populaces are automatically jihad-based. It's as jihadi as the Bath School disaster of 1927. Which included a fire, an initial explosion, then a follow-up suicide attack on rescuers. Well before anyone in the US cared about jihadi terrorists.
  2. Confirmed http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-07-...ate-pushed-back August 17. No explanation offered. 360 still sounds as if it'll be on track for tomorrow.
  3. That was such a great tool for gaming back in the day. I wonder how they'll link up to the original, maybe you'll come across Simmons, Page, etc. ?
  4. Yeah, there are still people out there hoping to find a group behind this. http://www.richardsilverstein.com/tikun_ol...through-norway/
  5. Groups of people working in concert to nefarious ends? Sounds like a conspiracy to me.
  6. Is that confirmed? I suspected it when , but it seemed to be trying to be very vague. Which makes me suspect that either I was reading too much into it or maybe the Courier isn't supposed to realize it, even if the player is supposed to.
  7. To be honest I really will be irked if the game doesn't contain a ton of real world conspiracy theories, that's one thing that really drew me into the first game, they treated their source material very respectfully, regardless of how over the top some of it is. The trailers already talk about "corporations have more power than the government." Which, true or not, is the most discussed real world conspiracy there is. I'd be content if they stuck with just that, without tossing Freemasons into it or going back to Illuminati. Yeah, the Illuminati will surely be in the game somewhere, just because it's part of the setting, but I'm kind of hoping they don't focus on the fact that the corporations in power are the Illuminati.
  8. Here's the juicy bit from HK's second link.
  9. From Dust may be getting delayed on the PC. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/show...d.php?t=1992795 D2D UK is saying August 17th. GamersGate is also listing August 17th. http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-FD/from-dust
  10. Finished Dead Money and loved it. Only issue I have is Started Honest Hearts. Breathtaking vistas. Though I'm running out of ammo for the guns I've brought. And I'll be surprised if the .45 Autos will be competent for the White Legs.
  11. Ooh, saw this too. I thought it was absolutely hilarious.
  12. I can see it. 6 is my favorite.
  13. I think I'm going to just have to watch a Let's Play of Warrior Within. I'm playing along and I get stuck. "Where do I go?! This just leads me in circles!" I check a walkthrough "Uh huh, I see, I was doing that, uh hu--- what? A cutscene will play that opens a whole in the wall? No cutscene played when I got there. I better reload a save." I reload the save and... the Prince is now weird looking. Black and grey with blue glowing eyes and shadowy stuff streaming. Taking constant damage. I don't think that's right... I'll settle for Youtube. Edit: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I had even more bugs than I thought, seeing the LP. The portal I was at when I saved wasn't even supposed to be active. I was supposed to do a puzzle first. I thought it weird when the Prince said something about it, yet I just walked into it.
  14. Captain America. Good, not great. Stay after the credits for an Avengers trailer.
  15. We thought the same about Oklahoma City. And even at trial people kept trying to link McVeigh to Islamic extremists. But you're probably right, anyway.
  16. Can't say. They apprehended the shooter, he's in custody.
  17. SWG was very nice for its sandbox element. Which you won't see in TOR. Player economy, all equipment player made, player housing (which was player made), player cities. In the sandbox v theme park debate, it clearly sided with sandbox. Combat was broken from day one.
  18. They were something like a couple of hours apart. Attacking social democrats like that makes me more think neo-nazis, something political anyway. And that we don't know they're linked yet. Shooting could be an opportunist.
  19. Someone's claimed? I thought nobody had yet. Time to double check my news sites.
  20. I'm wary. As a general rule I absolutely abhore dungeon crawlers. But I somehow enjoyed Torchlight. Is this game likely to be another exception?
  21. I find myself now hyped for Space Pirates and Zombies. Purkake mentions it in the OP. The trailer looks pretty awesome. http://store.steampowered.com/video/107200/80950 I kind of imagine building a ton of small ships with cloaking devices and just doing hit and run. Interesting info on SPAZ. http://www.spacepiratesandzombies.com/foru...f=17&t=1479 A game that's on sale, but beta, has made 1/3rd the development back with Gamersgate, Impulse, and direct sales.
  22. Yes/No There is a key, I don't remember what it is. But it has a range limit and a cooldown.
  23. Requesting permission to squeal like a fangirl.
  24. -Obsidian's interesting to me in that they've done a wide variety of types of RPGs. KOTOR 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2 were the more traditional party based affairs. Alpha Protocol was a solo cinematic style. New Vegas is open world and sandbox. Dungeon Siege 3 was more hack and slash. Does each style of RPG provide a unique challenge in comparison? If so, what new challenges did Dungeon Siege 3 present? -When will I get to eat another god?
  25. The Longest Journey didn't interest you? Only because you already own it, right?
