  1. Beat Resonance. It was a neat little game. Worth it for the adjusted $2.00 from GOG's sale, but nothing to be excited over.
  2. The answer is no. They, or rather Avellone specifically, said they don't want to design around console limitations for Project Eternity.
  3. I think I'm at the end of Resonance. And I am comfortable that I've predicted an up and coming twist.
  4. What is the WiiU? All I know is that people in the ME 3 MP say the WiiU will join multiplayer. New Nintendo console.
  5. This is the only non-compilation I can find. http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DD-NWN2MW/neverwinter-nights-2-mysteries-of-westgate
  6. I am proud to announce that I finished the first of what I hesitate to call a draft of my first chapter. Anyone interested in reading it for feedback is crap out of luck because I spent as much time experimenting with viewpoint and voice as I spent actually writing. But hey, I wrote actual scenes. Really crappy scenes, but scenes!
  7. Since I just grabbed Resonance on GOG's Black Friday, I'll probably start that up in a bit. Or Soul Reaver. If I don't get distracted by writing.
  8. Just wanted to thank you for the link again. Just finished episode 4 and it's already given me a good reason to rewrite my first few paragraphs. They're not talking about voice, which is my big concern, so far, but it's helping in other ways. And it has Brandon Sanderson!
  9. That would also be illegal. And it doesn't fit the classic stereotype.
  10. It'll give me something to listen to at work tomorrow, thanks. Edit: Also, I'm practicing my drinking. Because when it comes to creative types, it's either coke or wine and only one of those is legal.
  11. Trying to establish a voice in my writing. Probably the hardest thing for me, harder than doing the actual writing. Problem number 1, actually writing in a non-mechanical fashion. Problem number 2, not overdoing the humor during a scene that's supposed to be a very tragic death scene.
  12. It's the bad Antonio Banderas impersonation and the fact that he looks at my character like he's a piece of meat.
  13. Finished Chaos on Deponia. Repeatable crashes at the ending, so had to youtube the final bits. Luckily, I managed to complete all interactive portions. It was just cutscenes left. Incredible game. Except for the crashing. Edit: Going back to Assassin's Creed 3 after playing both Deponia games is depressing. I think Deponia is going to go on the list of games that made me stop gaming for a while. I'll go back to books for a month or so.
  14. Just finished Deponia. Great game. The puzzle logic stumped me a few times, but nothing that I felt was unfair after I found out what it was. The story and characters were funny and charming. I highly recommend it to adventure fans.
  15. There's definitely an alternative. There's another path that lets you drop a lighting rig on him.
  16. They're borrowing mark and execute from Conviction. People joked about it being another Conviction, but that's a bit on the nose.
  17. There is no beauty in your soul. She sought to end a terrible injustice. She wasn't thwacking people for jaywalking.
  18. Moved to Computer and Console.
  19. Finished Zone of the Enders 2 HD. I've finished both now. The pacing doesn't hold up to modern standards, the cutscenes are too long. And the slowdown kills the action in the final moments, as I said before. Despite of the slowdown, they're still better bossfights than I've found in this console generation. Except maybe for Bayonetta. The writing was weaker than I remember thinking it was. Nohman's a pretty standard moustache twirler. Even Viola played at sympathetic in the first game, though it didn't exactly balance out her psychopathy. Overall, it's still fantastic. Edit: Next up, I think I'll be playing Deponia. Assassin's Creed 3 bored me too much to go back to it as of yet.
  20. Said the Rhode Island Governor... Rhode Island loaned money towards Copernicus, not Reckoning. He was probably talking about how much it would need to sell to pay back the Copernicus loan. Reckoning was developed by Big Huge Games in Maryland. Not 38 Studios in Rhode Island.
  21. Despite the fact that they got a well known fantasy author to create the world, I found the lore and the world of KoA to be utterly dull and boring. That was one of the reasons I was convinced the game would be successful, the auspicious people involved in the game were amazing. R A Salvatore, has written books we all love. But the game just didn't sell well enough The game sold fine, though not blockbuster numbers. Their problem was continued funding for the other game.
  22. The slowdown in the Anubis fights in ZOE 2 HD are pretty bad. Kills their pacing and any excitement they could have.
  23. ZOE 2 HD Played and beat the first one rather quickly. Apparently I don't remember this game very well at all. I thought Viola was an ex-love of Dingo's or something.
  24. My understanding of the crash was that there was oversaturation of shovelware. Q*Bert coming out on 8 different platforms and nobody knowing what to buy anymore or knowing if it'd be any good. That's why Nintendo had that whole Seal thing when it came onto the scene. There's an argument to be made on the latter, but the former is nothing like today.
