  1. Heat Signature this time. I'm pretty sure I've got the hang of it now. It used to be that if guys had shields I just wouldn't do a mission. Now I've got my pick of crash traps, subverters, crashbeams. And I actually like the crash traps the most maybe. Because they constantly recharge. And if you place them on the teleporter reinforcements become a joke. My guys aren't dying anymore. But I also haven't attempted my first stronghold. Everyone's got a freaking shield on that one. Deraldin, if you're reading this, my first guy's personal mission was to save one of your guys. He died trying.
  2. Rebel Galaxy I just bought the Sorcerer Dreadnaught. Only slightly more expensive than the cheapest dread and only 4 mil shy of the most expensive dread. And it's a beauty, ruins everything in sight. The game is basically done at this point.
  3. I love choices. I hate filler. I'm turned off by even sidequests. "Please go kill the bandits for 14 copper and a piece of lint. They've been sitting in a cave 15 minutes ride south not bothering a single person who was worth having a name. But it says bandit over their head so they really just need to be gone." No. But I HATE grinds. "Here's a stick for a weapon and some roughly spun wool that we think passes for armor. To actually avenge the death of your wife, you'll need the DEMON HEART ENCRUSTED DIAMOND SWORD of +2000 agility and a suit of THUNDERBOLT IRON PLATEMAIL with enough defense stat for a starship hull. But to even get that you'll need the PICKAXE OF WOE that has a 20% droprate from the demon lord AB'ZZTHFR and he only spawns once a day. Then you'll need to mine 3 cubic miles of METEORIC IRON and kill roughly 50 demons for two hearts. Don't worry about mining for diamonds, just buy them. To get the gold you have to murder and rob the entire population of the nation 3 times over. Now get started." Quit->Uninstall
  4. I don't let my wishlist get over 30. If I see it at 31, something has to go. I could probably trim it down to 10 realistically. That said, most of the stuff I bought this summer sale is stuff I deleted off my wishlist a year ago. And one item that was on my wishlist at the time.
  5. Hit the second system of Rebel Galaxy and finally opened the sector map. Ahh, so it's going to be one of those games. Only a handful of systems to play in and a very linear progression. Like I progressed out of the first system thinking I was hot **** and the system map tells me that my new system is HIGH and every other system is EXTREME. I like the game, but I fear I'm just going to doing a slogging grind to be strong enough to go to the next system. Over and over and over again.
  6. Played through J.U.L.I.A: Among the Stars A first person point and click adventure game with a variety of puzzles. And overall just kind of meh. You're uncovering what happened to a lost expedition, but the problem with that is the majority of the interest in that story is played out in the tutorial. The rest of the game is a dragged out and vague telling of what lead up to that point. And where the tutorial intrigues you with a whoddunit mystery, the rest is 90% alien history and myth. I don't recommend unless you're hard up for a sci-fi adventure game. And since I'm on a SPAAAAAACE kick, I'm also toying with Space Pirates and Zombies and Rebel Galaxy. SPaZ being a game I tried playing twice before when it first released and got stuck on a boss. Rebel Galaxy being a 3D graphics on a 2D plane space sim where you're using broadsides. And it is pretty engaging so far.
  7. 3030 Deathwar Redux The main plot was 75% other characters talking elsewhere while the main character just did his own thing, but it was a fun game that ended right before things got too tedious. I'd say that's a win. It bills itself as an adventure game and 2D space exploration hybrid. But I'd say the only thing it owes to adventure games is a Monkey Island joke and a side perspective on stations. Running around blowing up pirates was fun enough. That and a fantastic soundtrack.
  8. I use Redbox for games I'm interested in, but not sure of. I rented DOOM 2016 from there and I'm sure a couple of other things.
  9. Split the difference, maybe they're working on a game about juicing watermelons. They already have one indie horror game on Steam. Looks pretty decent.
  10. I played a small bit of the remake of 2. The bundle I bought included 1, 2, and 3 in addition to origins and the DLC. Too good to pass up.
  11. I splurged on all three The Room games, Gris, and Star Control: Origins. The Room games are pretty fun on their own and super cheap. Gris has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews and I've been eyeing it a while. I've waffled about Star Control: Origins, but I know we have a couple people here who really liked it. And it was surprisingly cheap. Got the bundle with the DLC for less than the cost of the DLC alone.
  12. The Room Two In this surprising sequel to the film, Johnny must solve puzzle boxes to find Mark inside an eldritch nightmare. But seriously, these are fun games. I binged through the first one last night. They're puzzle boxes with fairly simple logic. Ones that couldn't exist in the real world for a few reasons. And at like $1.50 in the sale, much cheaper than even a single box.
  13. Finished Detroit Become Human. The first genuinely good Quantic Dream game. Some have come close, but they crapped themselves at the end. This one does not.
  14. I went to the ER. The meds they put me on cleared up the pain from the kidney stone right away. The pain hasn't even returned yet. I'm the last person in my family to join the club. My dad's was as big as a thumbnail according to him.
  15. I've only had one DM (out of 3) use a module and it was like the starter stuff from 4E. We were all pretty new then. During 4E I used to buy modules because I was a sucker who thought I'd ever get to use them.
  16. Bouncing between three games. Still doing Diablo 3, I basically just try to hit one of the remaining season items a day. Detroit Become Human, I hear so much good stuff about it despite not liking Quantic Dream's stuff that I decided to give it a chance. It's really good so far, but that tends to be the way Cage does thing. Really good then something really dumb happens. Lastly is Doom 2016. I rented it at release as an old Doom fan and wasn't thoroughly impressed. Playing it again now I remember why. The platforming is garbage. Accidentally slipping a jump to die really does nothing to add to the experience. And scouring every corner of the map for the hidden path to a collectible certainly isn't contributing to exciting demon shooting.
  17. The real annoying part for me is I don't even like bone armor. I dropped that ability a long time ago. I like summoning mages and ripping blood. But if I went back to that I'd be pushed so far back. So I went back to my mage and I'm actually playing around with different builds on her.
  18. Got my season set in Diablo 3. And now I can play Torment VI and just walk through enemies so they die. I'm basically not even playing anymore. I'm just walking around refreshing bone armor. Some particular strong Elites can one-shot me, so I have to keep walking and make sure I use the bone armor stun to hit them. Which usually kills them in one or two shots.
  19. There's a season buff where each Ancient item you have gives you a 750% buff if you don't have an item set bonus. So beating 1600% is quite possible. The numbers really are insane. They've just lost all meaning at this point. My Necro has 6,708 Intelligence and regenerates 23,242 HP per second. She has almost half a million health. Her strength is 77. I've been at the endgame for barely over a weekend!
  20. Diablo 3 So I've got Ashbringer apparently. And am almost done with the first 4 parts of the season journey. I guess that ancient helm I upgraded from a rare is really helping me out. 750% damage buff! Only thing left to do to get the pet is a single greater rift.
  21. Bioware's copyright is almost certainly with regards to the Infinity Engine. I seem to recall that being brought up around the Enhanced Editions. Minsc has been used so liberally by Wizards and licensors I don't think Bioware kept any rights on characters.
  22. Is he stated to be a greater deity anywhere? He was only an intermediate before. And the FR wiki just lists him as a god. The last two Bhaalspawn killed each other and he came back. Gorion's Ward (though I hear there was some hand wringing about how it might not actually be him) and the teleporting dude, Viekang. No idea why Viekang picked that fight, he was a coward.
  23. I was waiting on this. When they announced it and that it'd have new stuff I dropped my old game. And since it broke custom portraits, I guess it might have to start new...
  24. 5E I'd mostly describe as a mash of 2E and 3E, but with 4E's resting rules. Feats are rare, only taken in lieu of stat gains, instead of 3E's feat deluge. And there's multiclassing, but I've not played around with it. The Fighter in my campaign took a level of Cleric. Otherwise familiarity with 3E serves well aside from class changes. Like Warlocks don't do that shape/essence thing at all. It's Eldritch Blast, some utility abilities, and some limited spellcasting. I've got like 8 spells I picked, but I can only cast two a day. And it still likes doing the kit thing that 4E did. My Warlock is Infernal, we've got a Wild Mage (Chaos Sorcerer), and our Barbarian has some sort of elemental rage thing going on. Oh, and you don't assign points to skills at level. You just have proficiency and bonuses.
  25. That's not how 5e works. There's no trees. Sword Coast Legends was not really 5e faithful if that's where you're getting it from.
