  1. We don't need another point of view, or a fresh perspective. If that was so then why didn't Lucas just ditch Anakin and Luke for newer characters each movie? This is Star Wars, KOTOR is Star WArs. IT's being based off a trilogy, trilogies have one dominant hero. Revan is that hero. To not be him,and not to finish the story from his point of view is lame and make's Revan useless in the end. His story would never be concluded in the way it should if a new pc, with some lame excuse for not having powers, comes along. KOTOR doens't need 3 hero's. You want to choose things you can. You can make Exile or Revan look a different way, do their stats and etc. Only thing you wouldn't be able to do is name them, and naming Exile was dumb anyway. Many RPG's have their main characters already made. So it's not right to say that the fun part RPG's is building the character, because in many cases that isn't true. This is Star Wars, and KOTOR should end with either Revan or the Exile. No other, because another would just get in the way. Not to mention a cliche, of repeating itself in 3 games.
  2. Oh, Dark Nuke, you can easily finish Revan's story the same way you continued it TSL. That would seem pretty easy to conclude yourself, but I'm here for you if you need any such help. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My dearest Laozi, no you can't. Because Revan is now to important to push into the background. He must have closure, and that closure needs to be in the hands of the player.
  3. So says you. I happen to think you're completely wrong and that bringing back the Exile or Revan would be ill placed and useless, since they have already served their purpose in the over-arching storyline. And where do you come up with this "It's being based on a Trilogy. Trilogies have one Dominent hero" crap? It's not "being based" on anything, other than the story designs that the various studios have cobbled together for fun gameplay. And since it's already had two dominent heroes then your theory is already shot down. A new character, be it a sith acolyte, Jedi Padawan, or a joe-nobody force sensitive, can easily tell the story of the war with the True Sith, the rebirth of a stronger Republic, and give "closure" to the storyline. Look at KOTOR2 and how it put some of Revans actions in a new light. It could only do that from an outside perspective, namely from the Exiles perspective. Now in KOTOR3 they could use a fresh perspective to shed light on the events surrounding the Exile and Revan and easily close the story from that narrative view. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And I think your ignorant for wanting something as stupid as a New PC. A new PC isn't needed, we have a new PC's. KOTOR has been put into a trilogy format, and all trilogies that have been made always have a central Hero. Whether it be, Neo,Luke, Anakin, or Frodo. And no a new Force user would not bring closure to the story. He would be useless to the overall plot, having a less than important connection that some how gives him the reason to destroy the Sith. The True Sith ar Revans enemy, not some no-body who comes along. Two dominant hero's are fine, but another isn't needed. It will feel less like a trilogy if such a thing is allowed to happen. Revan started it, he should finish it. Of course the Exile is good too. We don't need a fresh perspective. This is the end of the game. I'm not looking for a fresh perspective, I'm looking for the hero to finish his job. Revan and the Exile still have story to tell. More so for Revan. He hasn't finished the job. He has a war to fight, demons to battle, a girl to kiss.
  4. Oh, Laozi. The Ship came back into port when Obsidian was foolish enough to make Revan a focal point of KOTOR 2. Now he's more important than ever.
  5. Won't work. KOTOR is now being based on a trilogy. Trilogies have one dominant hero, and demand closure. In doing so either Revan or Exile have to be chosen in order to finally end the story. having a New PC will be ill placed, and useless. Nor to I care to learn how this new PC has lost his powers. *Also we must remember that there are no more Jedi save Revan and the Exile(possibly Bastila and Jolee). All Revan and Malaks Sith were finished off at Telos, so there are no more force users left, and it should be kept that way. IT moves the story along, and gives that sence of intensity knowing that only a 4 or 5 Jedi remain.* KOTOR 3 needs to be Epic, an explosive story filled with action, climatic battles, and an end to the story. It won't work any other way. the idea of Revan, Exile, or both being the PC is becoming a popular idea among many now. Hopefully other will see that to end a Star Wars story, you don't need 3 hero's.
  6. That's right. Plus the only thing that wouldn't be available to the player in the start up would be the name. But many RPG character already have names anyway. A new PC just wouldn't work for a STAR WARS game. That's the biggest point we have to remember. This is Star Wars, not your everyday RPG. KOTOR has been put into a Trilogy format. It needs and ending that has closure, and the only way your going to have closure completely is by being either the Exile, Revan, or both.
  7. Perhaps this will help people finally understand that Mandalore is Canderous http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/Dar...adal_nohelm.jpg
  8. Do you think ROTJ would have been successful if it had mostly been about finding saving Han? Instead of saving the Galaxy. This very well could be the last KOTOR game, we don't need to be searching for people. I want an epic adventure, about finally beating the crap out of the Sith, one last time. Not flying around the galaxy looking for the hero. With one game to develope the true sith, destroy them, possibly a huge batte to destroy them, and other story plots. There is no time, and no need to make the game the,"Search for Revan." It makes the game less epic, and pointless in the end.
  9. Searching for Revan is all good, if it was the Taris part of the game. Meaning the beginning part of the game, and only took about 5 hours to accomplish. You don't what to make a Game that's probably going to be the end, about finding Revan. There's to much story to tell. So get Revan found as quickly as possible. Just like in ROTJ when Han was found and saved in the first half hour.
  10. You should be no one except Revan. His story is still unfinished, and he has a lot mroe to tell. Revan is the perfect hero to end the series. We must remember this is STar Wars, changing Luke and Anakin around because they were to power would have hurt the series. They were the the hero's of their stories, REvan is the hero of his. A new PC will only take that way.
  11. They'll still be going for the New PC route. I can just feel it. I don't care if Revan is a party member, or in the game in any sort of way. His character will be dwindled beyond repair. A New PC will fight and end his war. Perhaps this new PC will even screw Revans gal. I can't wait to see what reasons this new PC has for not having the force. I also don't want to exsplore the outer rim territories. Who cares? The only thing of importance is the True Sith Planet. I'd rather see Coruscant, Mandalore, and Alderaan.
  12. This seems to imply that you won't be Revan for the third installment. What part of stupid idea of adding a new PC does Obsidian not understand?
  13. Me must all agree this is Star Wars, not your every day RPG. Just like switching hero's wouldn't have worked for the OT and PT, the same thing applys to KOTOR. To me Revan is the hero of the story, and definitly has a whole lot more story to tell.
  14. Were does it says "its EU now"? No they step away from the "shorter sillier Star Wars stories" to "more serious longer stories" but that hardly means "we are doing EU now" ... Tales was designed for Infinities, if they want to do EU again they would either relaunch a older series or make a new one instead of adding much confusing by making a Infinities series a EU Timeline serie after number #20. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LoL, shows how much you know. Tales is now mostly EU stories, unless there is an infinites label on the story written.
  15. They do now. Tales has taken a revamp that started with issue 21. Now Tales is mostly Continuity stories, and this KOTOR is one of them.
  16. Darca Nly is apart of the Clone War era, not Old Sith Wars era.
  17. What would tick me of is playing Revan or Exile again. I think they should be in the game but not as a playing character.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But that would be so annoying. It was bad enough that we had to play as the exile but to be taken out of the driver seat of Revan or the Exile would lead to too many Jedi hero's. The new guy will be a be another guy who is special blah blah blah. <_< *yawn* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Damn straight.
  18. I don't think they should do that to the Rakata. Eh, gad, what's mesa saying?KOTOR 2 doesn't even know what's it's talking about half the time, why the hell do I care what it thinks of the Rakata?
  19. And having another Exile or force savior wouldent? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not if they're a non-demigod to begin with. Then they're simply learning skills, gaining experience and gradually beoming more powerful - not reestablishing what they already had. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> okay so lets pretend that people want to know the full story of revan and the exile (why anyone would want that is beyond my mind capacity). would it really be better to face (end) this situation with someone you just started, or two people youved spent 30+ hours working on. For the love of creative writing do we really need a-freaking-nother exlie or another "your our last hope"? Whicih is what the next one will turn out to be without someone creative behind the wheel of kotor3. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Amen my friend, Amen indeed. I have said it many times that a New PC would be the dumbest Idea for the series. I say let it end with Revan. The true sith are his enemy, no one else's. He shouldn't waste away in the background while some new All powerful punk comes along and steals his war away from him. Let Revan end this trilogy, then if the games continuie have someone new.
  20. Meaning Bastila and Revan? I would doubt people would get tired of them. The EU novels have been going on for years and years, and only a select few are tired of seeing Luke Skywalker kick ass. No, what I would be tired of is seeing new character over and over again. I'd hate to look in some Star War's essential guide and read on the 40 different dominant hero's that were packed into one era of Star Wars. By everything that is holy I just hope they stick with Revan or the Exile in this next game. Personally I want Revan. This is his story, and his War. LET HIM FIGHT IT.
  21. 1. A complete story. No more plot holes. 2. Better continuity, even on the small things. For instance a Basilisk War Droid should look like a Basilisk War Droid. And just to prove how the BWD in the game wasn't a BWD: "Looking like a cross between a Karran bettle and a Zalorian rock lion, the Basilisk War Droids were created by the technologically minded basiliskans. arrogant reptiloids who poisoned their own planet during the Batle of Basilisk.Afterwared, the tech hungry Mandalorians greedily looted countless war droids." So the Basilisk War Droids were modeled on and created by the Basilikans. Thus if a Basilisk War Droid looks any other way it is no longer a basilisk war droid. Just like a toy horse is modeled after a real horse. 3. Must be Revan again 4. More new planets, with a few old one's yet to be seen. Like Coruscant and Planet Mandalore. 5. Better saber animation 6. A grand Epic story that will end this series on a high note. Looking for Revan won't achieve that. 7. Return of some old characters like Jolee and mission. And cameo's by most if not all of the older one's who won't make the party.
  22. Being Revan again makes the whole series come full circle. You get to finish his story by destroying the True Sith(his true enemy), you could continuie your love interest with Bastila, you could meet old friends, and they could join you in an epic adventure that would decide who holds on to the Galaxy in this era. Plus I'd love to be Revan and have a force Ghost Kreia trying to temp me at all times.
  23. Ah yes the old RPG problem. Well for one, this might be a game, but it's also Star Wars. Two, Revan would be going against an enemy stronger then he. No wonder FPS and other games are more popular than RPG's. They don't have to worry about their character being replaced because he/she becomes to powerful.
  24. You are Revan, don't need 3 hero's in one era. Also it would ten times as more epic if you actually play the character still has a lot more story to tell. Seeing old party members join you in the biggest war of this era. That's how you end a trilogy. Wheter some people are smart enough to see it, is up for debate. 1. HK and T3 2.Bastila 3. Jolee 4. Visas Marr 5.Mira 6. New 7.New 8.Juhani Carth and Mandalore will lead their armies in battle, thus both being NPC characters.
