Ideas for kotor 3? returning people? planets?
Darth Nuke replied to Draken's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
From what I understand, either way the Star Forge is destroyed in KOTOR. -
Either way will work. Lucas came out and said recently that the Sith ruled the Galaxy before the, "Rise of the Empire," era. When, is up for debate, but technically the Sith would have to rule before the New Sith Wars, with Darth Bane and the army of darkness. Not that KOTOR 3 will have an effect either way. Just that it's Darkside ending might have a sense of continuity next time. Of course LFL usually goes for the Lightside ending during the games, and might leave the Sith Galaxy rule to a novel or comic.

yah, K1 - ANH, K2 - ESB, K3 - RotJ If you think about it, K1 and K2 are very simular to the films, I am expecting to see something cool at the end. and maybe they'll release a prequel trilogy too :D, 1 with the Great Sith War, and Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun with the mandalorians.. featuring a young Canderous Ordo :D, the second one will be the Mandalorian Wars controlling the Exile before he gave up the force, which leads in to the Jedi Civil War.. K1 started at the end of the JCW, so maybe if we started from the begining of the wars :D. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No reason to do games based off already established sources, like the Exar Kun War. And the Mandalorians Wars have been picked at so much during the last two games that we mostly know what happens. Therefore it wouldn't really matter if your light or Dark, or who wins the war, because offically the Republic wins. I'm affraid such games will be left to the action genra type.
-
No his comments were intended to after the Exar Kun war. The Mandalorians weren't OFFERED to fight the Great Sith War, they were offered to fight the Mandalorian Wars. In which case KOTOR 2 continuies the notion that the TRUE SITH are the one's that offered and goaded the Mandalorians into the Mandalorian Wars.

The List of Continuity Mistakes

LOL Good post -
I don't think KOTOR 3 is gonna start new after KOTOR 2. There is still a dark time, and KOTOR 3 will be made to end this trilogy, and bring a little light or more dark to the era. No councils, and no more Jedi. The point of KOTOR 2 was to get rid of the Jedi, and now only 4 or 5 exist. See that was the point of both games, to get rid of the enemies, and make them weak. KOTOR told of the weakening of the Mandalorians, and the start of the Revan/Malak sith. KOTOR 2 gets rid of the Jedi, and the last of the Revan/Malak Sith. Now there is no one to stand in the True Sith's way. Save of course a small army of Mandalorians, Revan, Exile, Bastila, Carths Republic Fleet, and HK-47(possibly Jolee). That's not a lot on a galactic scale. So it seems to me that the rush will be on for the Senate to be warned of the coming war, and for other systems to lend their armies. Easy!!! Then again getting all these greedy senators to lend their armies, in yet another war, might cuase problems. So now we are beginning to have a plot. How you expand on this plot depends on the writer.

The List of Continuity Mistakes
Darth Nuke replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Oh there is continuity, and a pretty strong one at that. Everything that connects, connects well, and when it didn't it was fixed. Most of you seem to have the problem with the ideas and looks that came out of the EU. LOL, that has nothing to do with continuity, but preference. You don't like a Cloned Emperor, fine. However it is still continuity according to LFL. Chris doesn't know how continuity works, but I'm sure that if you go to the other boards with EU fans you can learn very quickly how it does work. Good Night -
Good, but your idea goes a little over board, and most of it has been done one way or another. And your spoiler idea is just plain ****ing stupid.

The cigar smoking bug might blow trough ships and all but i still say that the stealth version kicks its ass since you cant hit what you cant see. Then again we might argue about that for an other week or two and never change each others minds because its all opinion!! SW isnt reality there are no facts. or did the USA change there m16 for lightsabers while i was not looking? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Those Cigar's blow out a beam that can pierce Capital Ship armor, and from what I can see in TOTJ the Beast can see very well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes but as i stated earlier for all i care it has an deat star laser beam up its ass you can not hit somthing you do not see. According to your picture and statements the mendelarions are riding the bug and thus the madelerions should see there targets and given that there armour might magicly protect them in space and amtosperic reentry your not saying it also has an ultry advanced radar system in it? Also i do not think you saw the beast fight CLOACKED targets in TOTJ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The DROID can see and fight on it's own you know. It was said in the essential guide that the Beast and warrior are like best friends, responding and helping each other where they can. and all Mandalorian armor can MAGICLY protect them in space, from Crusader to Mandalorian Protector. -

Comics have more power over the games, and in 40 years the Basilisk didn't change because of the Article. A Basilisk by definition is modeled after a Karren Bettle and a Zalorian Rock-Lion, that's continuity. What KOTOR 2 contributed was a Stealth version, not a battle droid. That's that. See the games can't go back in time and change ****. Someone was saying why a Basilisk is called a Basilisk. It's because they were created by a species called Basiliskans, who were also reptilian. And to those with power issues, perhas you should look at the pages where the Basilisk blows ships in half, and tears through the walls of the forerost ship yards, and blows it's combined cannons. Virago's got blown up pretty easly as well. -

It's not all bug, the front part is modeled after a Zalorian Rock-Lion. It was acutally a good idea if you think about it. A crazy bad ass Mandalorian race riding droids in space battles, reentering atmo with just their armor, and such. The beast show's the insanity of the Mandalorians. Shows how they will take risk for the glory and fun of battle. A lot better than just flying in a Starfighter. -

A Basilisk isn't a space craft, it's a beast. I found some more proof that the intention of KOTOR's version was to be the Beast as well. Canderous said he rode his Basilisk into battle, and yes that has been said before. Never once does he speak of riding IN his Basilisk. The pc has the option of saying, "You dropped into a battle RIDING a DROID." Clue number 2. Canderous then talks about HIS ARMOR, "MY ARMOR," glowing red hot because of the heat of reentry. Not the Basilisk outer armor, HIS ARMOR. So clearly Bioware's intentions were the Beast. -

Not as much a mess as it used to be. Most of if not all the continuity problems have been fixed, or will be fixed. and please call it, Ungly POWERFUL beast. Though I really wouldn't call the Virago better looking. I think a redesign with the same idea would have been a much better choice. I hope that with KOTOR 3 the beast will get a redesign, because I feel it has better entertainment and idea value. -
Mandalorian Battle Harness: Seeing first-use during the New Sith Wars and laster by BL-droids in the Clone Wars, this dreaded monstrosity was designed to turn any loyal Mandalorian into a one-man arsenal. The colossal weapons platform was equipped not only with numerous laser emplacements and an overhead blaster cannon but also with two giant appendages: one a massive clawing arm for crushing enemies and chewing into fortifications, the other an immense trip hammer for pulverizing obstacles. Lagartoz War Dragons: The savage Lagartoz War Dragon was imported from chemically poisoned Basilisk to Mandalore just prior to the Mandallian Campaign. With raking claws and a tough hide, the intelligent and easily trained beasts proved devastating in aerial and ground combat. They were also popular as pets. Many assume the Basilisk War Droid was partly modeled on the ferocious Lagartoz War Dragon. That's not entirely untrue: The War Dragons actually are the Basiliskans-degenerated after millennia to a shadow of their former intellectual glory. Small Notes and comments: The Dreadnaught was also a ship designed by the Mandalorians. According to a comic, the design is ancient, and was later modified by Rendili star drive for their fleet use during the Clone Wars. So this could mean that a VERSION of the Dreadnaught could have been used by the Mandalorians during the Mandalorian Wars. Another ship that surprised me was the Mandalorian Dungeon Ship, which was actually used during the Mandalorian Wars. Which is quite interesting and adds another ship to the Mandalorian Fleet we never saw. Like I said in a previous post, I believe that, though not mentioned, the Sith offer was one of the causes for this "Great Last Battle" mentality. The Dha Werda Verda were an ancient race that conquered Coruscant thousands of years before the Republic was ever formed. This species is the decendant of the Mandalorians. Which is quite interesting, since it would seem that the Mandalorian actually did conquer the heart of the Republic, but before the Republic. Well that's all the Mandalorian info the article has. If anyone has any questions or is confused about something, I'll answer your questions to the best of my ability.

The List of Continuity Mistakes
Darth Nuke replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I hope you learn how continuity works one day. LA ain't ****, because LFL has to fix all the problems. They are the God. Mr. Christopher had a Virago starfighter approved as a Basilisk War Droid. At the time of the game it might actually have become the BWD, but then the Mandalorian Article came and made the Beast the BWD and the Virago a Stealth model. That's how the world turns in continuity in Star Wars. The continuity people at LFL see a continuity problem like the Basilisk, and have it fixed. Unfortuatly the Stealth model didn't come out on top. Sorry. You'd be surprised at how things can change. Perhaps soon you should get Tales 23 with a KOTOR comic. IT's about the Great Hunt, and it leads to Korriban, the Valley of the Dark Lords. But take a good guess and WHICH Valley is used. Of course this is a few months away, but the same thing can happen to the Basilisk, and the Virago won't even exist. There is a balance of power in Star Wars, and sometimes the Novels and Comics beat the games. -

I do whatever suits me Now Christopher is having a little bit of an attitude problem, but I think he understands that he made some mistakes. That's one man that doesn't like to be pushed into a corner no matter how bad the ending is. (w00t) It's doesn't really matter what the Basilisk looks like, but why a Virago over a redesign? Why steal a ship from SOTE and throw it into the game. -

The only basic different between the Virago and the Stealth droid is the wings. They are folded back in KOTOR 2. -

Of course, but when it comes time for KOTOR 3 a Virago isnt' gonna pass. The Mandalorians are known for doing some crazy ****, and doing that stuff on Beast War Droid is cool. Some great entertainment value can come out of the beast if used in multiple numbers in KOTOR 3. Of course this all depends on the return to Mandalore, and what Candy cane's been doing these past few months/years(depends on KOTOR 3) -

What can a Virago do save fire at ships. Wow. Stupid or not, as a creative decision(of course I'm not dev, and my ideas are crap) I would choose the beast if you using the Basilisk is Battle. More entertaining and a lot of idea value. Redesign it, keep it a beast, send it out, and cool's things can happen. -

In a way you have more creative ideas for the beast in a story than a Virago. Mandalorians could RIDE into battle against the Sith. Kinda compares to Rohirrim. Lets say in KOTOR 3 there's a huge fleet battle that the Mandalorian are apart of. The Mandalorians are small in force, unless of course Canderous gets every Man from the Mandalorian sector, and will need to make an impact. The Beast can kick ass, and destroy ships in a suitable amount of time. You can also do some cool stuff in an FMV movie of the Beast in a fleet battle. You can have Beast use their claws against Sith fighters, have the GR's blow sith ships to hell, and have little entertaining moments of Mandalore riding and kicking ass. The Virago just doesn't hold up. EDIT: Or how about a cool scene of the Mandalorians entering a planets atmo on their Basilisk. Armor glowing red, as it's their only protection, as they reenter the atmo. Cool ****. -

Oh boy... look, I'm a nice big SW geek myself (otherwise I'd never have drawn fanart or re-edited those KoTOR2 sound files), but I can see why they chose the sleeker look of the in-game Basilisk over the ... illustration there. If we could see it in terms of pure aesthetics, the ship they made is much more pleasing to the eye than a hulking animal robot. I mean, I thought the cutscene when it zooms down to Iziz was pretty cool. A lot of people playing these games aren't going to be consulting their Star Wars Compendium while going through each step of the game. Star Wars in general is chock full of continuity errors, so it's not like poor Chris here is starting a trend or something. Plus, if I were him I'd be a tad insulted that you keep implying that he "stole" a design. So what if it has a passing resemblance to the Virago? I thought Nihilus' ship looked like a big star destroyer, but I'm not gonna scream bloody murder because they "stole" the design. Which they didn't. Also, I don't really think a beast machine would really go with the rest of the tech in the game, from a visual standpoint. We've seen star destroyer-looking things, slick ships, frigates, etc, that don't have the organic look that the war droid has. Having someone leaping around in some kind of Voltron tiger looking thing, no matter how modern it's redesigned, will just make it look like a jedi riding rainbow brite's pony. Please just give it up. Please. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really wouldn't call it a passing resemblance. It practically is a Virago Star Fighter, just called a Basilisk War Droid. Chris took everything away that made Basilisk a Basilisk. See some things are just continuity, and the Basilisk War Droid as shown in the Article seems to be what a Basilisk War Droid is. A Basilisk is a powerful beast that is like a best friend to a Mandalorian, quite smart on their own, and are powerful enough to take down capital ships. These are intrigueing facts on a Basilisk that the Virago doesn't support. -

LOL, oh my god, I love you. That was hilarious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't see what the big deal is here. Chris doesn't like something, he steals SOTE design, LA's approves it, and it's put into the game as a basilisk. LFL comes along and approves Mandalorian Article and everything in it including Beast Basilisk. So Beast remains dominant Basilisk, the war droid. The Virago becomes the Stealth version. Everythings fine, the question is, why a Virago and not a redesign? -

As a fan of the TotJ series, this too I would like to know Mr. Avellone (using slightly less harsh language of course). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's not a hard question to answer. Chris could have easly redesigned the creature for the KOTOR games. Perhaps getting rid of the bug parts, and settling for perhaps a more full lion form, and still keeping the mighty parts that make a Basilisk a Basilisk.
