You just typed that it looked stupid. Well since I have no fear of someone coming along and forcilbly inserting it into my copy of KOTOR II I wont be losing sleep over that. You missing the point anyway whether it's unoffical and stupid or official and stupid does not change that it is stupid. So approval means nothing to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very good, I'm glad ,but your Virago ain't **** to continuity. That's what counts, the Beast is continuity.
-
Like I give a crap about what the devs thing. At least Bioware had a respect for continuity. One mess up, ONE, in KOTOR. The valley, and the real one was to big to fit in anyway. The general consensus HERE. The REAL star Wars Boards KNOW what a Basilisk War Droid is. I need not sway anyone, because the Beast is a Basilisk War Droid and the Virago is not. Continuity says so, and in the game it is a Mistake. That will either be fixed by Dark Horse or the Holocron. Though next time, Obsidian whould respect continuity.l
-
So you acknowledge it looks stupid then. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, I think it looks cool and represents the Mandalorians very well as insane warriors. The Beast is the Basilisk War Droid, your Virago is just a dream that will soon be corrected. And boy will I be having me some fun on this board when it is.
-
Well it might look stupid, but at least the Mandalorians will be flying something powerful. Unlike the Virago.
-
Well as long as he dosnt go diggging up moles and stitching them to lobster tails who cares. If the molelobster is anything to go by a lot of the EU stuff was created at a bong party. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Zalorian Rock-Lion and Karren bettle.
-
Actually the Mandalorian armor is the best in the galaxy, and can withstand re-entry heat. Perhaps Unpractical, but it's continuity.
-
Actually the Basilisk wasn't created by the Mandalorians, it was created by the Basilikans. Oh an they are modeled after Zalorian Rock-Lions and Karren bettles. Oh, and Canderous seemed to really enjoy riding the stupid beast from his stories. He thought it was exciting an fun, unlike the lame Virago. Mark 2, LOL, the Beast would **** that thing up.
-
To be honest, am currently pondering if Mandalorians yell "DINNER TIME!!!" in unison as their lobsters, all glowing red from cutting throught the atmosphere, swoop down on some innocent city.... i mean, wouldn't that rock. " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Could be. Perhaps it symbolizes the War Droids opening their mouths, or firing their main cannons on large cities destroying them. Or using their claws to slice through the fresh meat of soldiers and innocent people. Man I love Mandalorians.
-
It seems you're the only one here that is aware/cares about that stuff. So again, what are you trying to accomplish? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That next time, Obsidian have a ****ing respect for continuity. If they can let BEAST remain the same, they can all the War beast to remain the same. Stupid or not, a Basilisk War Droid is a beast, not a Virago Star Viper.
-
No the holocron is the continuity database used by LFL license on Star Wars project. So if a writer has a question, he gets his answer from the holocron.
-
Exactly. Thats why it was presented to Lucasarts for the Aye or Nay and it was accepted by the powers that be, that at least one droid now looks like the fighter in the Mandalorian garage. How many people actually knew the "lobster" version anyway ? And no, it might not be continuity, but that doesn't sound like one of the virtues of the SW universe anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Being approved and being approved for continuity are two different things. Become more associated with STar Wars and learn how continuity works. What's in the holocron is what counts, and the Beast is in that holocron. So is the Virago, but as a ship created for Prince Xizor 4000 years later.

Sith War Comics

I'd rather have the mole/lobster, or Zalorian Rock-Lion/ Karren Bettle, than the Virago. I want something I know has an edge in battle.
-
Well, "the armour of my droid glowing red..." would be quite a mouthful. It's natural to shorten something like that in speech, and given choice between "my armour" and "my droid" glowing red ... it's obvious to pick the former, unless one's trying to impress the ladies on subconscious level. :"> That thing about player option on the other hand is pretty good argument. It still depends mainly on interpretation, though -- you can read it in multiple ways (riding a droid sounds like a crazy thing to do no matter if you're doing it stuck inside of it or outside... i always thought the point of the droid is, it can do things on its own without a human factor) Am not trying to say that the way you chose to read it is wrong, just that it isn't conclusive enough on its own to go ahead and say "seeeeee, they surely meant the droid to be like <whatever>"... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well then that means the line is pointless, because it was supposed to symbolize the disbelief that the Mandalorians would RIDE droids into battle. He meant his armor. Why would he care to say anything about it, if it wasn't his armor. All ships glow red with re-entry, but when your talking about your ARMOR as a factor then it become a little different. You say it's just his ship armor, or that the line means nothing, than you DWINDLE the meaning. Bioware meant the BEAST, not Prince Xizor's ship.
-
Somehow, I could just imagine riding one of those to the tunes of B52's "Rocklobster"... " It might be deadly, but it still looks stupid and not to mention the impracticality of wearing all that personal armour. If the guy ever fell of his lobster, he would never be able to stand again without somebody dragging him up. Definitely looks more like some superhero comic stuff than space fantasy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So do many things in the Star Wars universe, but that's not more you or me to descide. Continuity has the Beast as the Basilisk War Droid. IT's in the holocron, that what a Basilisk War Droid is, Signed sealed, and ****ing delivered.
-
So is what we have in K2. K2 is an official licensed product. You aren't licensed to sell toilet paper. You lose. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Um just because it's in KOTOR 2 don't mean it's continuity. That War Droid will be TURNED into the beast. Either through adaptation of KOTOR 2 or by the Holocron itself. So enjoy the ****ing thing while you can ,because sooner or later it's going to turn into a lobster.
-
That's pretty cool
-
My armour could equally mean what he is wearing or the ships armour he is riding in. Like the in and on thing. Dosnt he say 6 cm of armour ? You do realise what 6 cm of armour would look like for a personal suit dont you? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Um he meant HIS ARMOR, for like I said the player is given the option of saying,"You faught in a battle while riding a droid?"
-
It's not real, it's not like you can see it in action. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No ****, but seeing it in the game you can. <_<
-
I'm afraid it does. If I saw someone riding into battle on one of those I would wet myself laughing. While some EU geeks might get it, the majority of people would be wondering how they heck a mutant lobster got into a StarWars game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well that's your opinion sun-shine. But a Basilisk War Droid is a BAsilisk War Droid. I bet after seeing it in action they wouldn't think it looked stupid.
-
When someone says thay rode on the train they were quite definitely inside the steel box that makes the carriage. For all we know, "riding on droid" might be the same thing -- it tells nothing about the form of the droid in question. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lets see, " MY ARMOR glowing red with the head of re-entry," Not the ships armor, HIS ARMOR. Plus the player is given the option of this, "You rode ON a droid in battle."
-
It doesn't crash into the ground. That Beast can do a whole lot more than that REAL Virago Star Viper. The beast shows the style and the insanity of the Mandalorians. Makes them a little bit more than any other race. That Virago doesn't make them look powerful. The stupid beast does, because the stupid beast can lay waste to cities. Which goes along with Canderous speaking of how the Mandalorian carry weapons that destroy everything.
-
Your confusing mistake with choice not to include something that looks completely stupid and out of place in the game I think. There was intent to ignore the molelobster which means it's not a mistake.Simply good judgement. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Basilisk War Droid doesn't look stupid, and is BAD judgment. A lack of respect for continuity. Just because something looks stupid, he ****ing felt the right to have it changed. Screw him, and his Virago. At least Bioware knew what they hell they were doing.
-
Of course proper context is a factor is such a thing. I sure as hell don't want to ride on a bus or train. I want to ride IN them.
-
Not in KOTOR II (1000 thanks to Mr Avellone) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> that's just a mistake. Chris made many of them in KOTOR 2.
