  1. That had to be one of the worst design decisions ever in a video game. No matter how badly you wiped the floor with him, as soon as the cutscene plays it's as if he was kicking your butt. Talk about immersion breaking. The Kai Leng battles weren't fun but bosses appearing weaker or more powerful during cutscenes is in no way a first or unusual.
  2. Unless part of this "Keep" thing includes redesigning your past PC's on the new engine, then no. Good point.
  3. I wonder if they're likely to use the Warden at all as an NPC? There are multiple outcomes where you'd expect him to play a part in the story if some of these events are bleeding over into Ferelden or are to do with Morrigan.
  4. Deathwing edit: Not an expansion, sorry. Apparently it's a new game and possibly more FPS-oriented like the 90s Space Hulk and Vengence of the Blood Angels.
  5. You are a fellow forumite though, that's kind of the same thing.
  6. To be fair, I saw the Farcry movie and was entertained, I'd say as a point of reference that I enjoyed it a lot more than Olympus has Fallen (which I thought was a pretty flat action filck that still got high ratings) . I'm not sure about his other films but I suspect people have gone overboard with his bad reputation.
  7. Have they got multiplayer working for the first bg:ee yet?
  8. I wonder what the chances of something like Chaos Gate are now that x-com has done so well.
  9. So did the books manage to make characters like Varrick, Alistair and Isabella sound like themselves? Because I am tempted to pick up a copy just to hear them interact with each other.
  10. Well on the one hand, even if the Grey Knights are rank amateurs compared to the Harlequins, Harlequins do lack the iconic nature of Space Marines, and space elf ninja clowns, no matter how badass they are with all their colour, <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" data-cke-saved-href="http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Harlequin" href="http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Harlequin" s_kiss#.uhqljesugjy"=""> I was thinking more along the lines of Eldar aspect warriors, Harlequins would be a tougher sell although they don't have to look like they've just come from a childrens' birthday party
  11. Just so long her cats don't see and get ideas. Or maybe this would be a good way to get them into gaming?
  12. Could happen some day, Space Marine rocked socks.
  13. Probably in a similar way to importing saves from PS to PS2. There were at least a few PS2 games that utilized PS saves from previous titles in a series to unlock bonus content. All you have to do is make your game capable of reading the save data from the previous game, it's not like it's hardwired or part of the OS. The bigger problem is probably how many variables there are after every sequel, expansion and dlc. If they stay in the same region then the list gets bigger all the time, and if they move far enough out to different parts of the world then most of what we've done shouldn't logically impact what happens anyway. I think anyway.
  14. Who puts a platforming section right after the lass boss?
  15. I thought they changed that with a later patch? After I had finished the game, I felt so hard burned out, due to all the militia micro-management you had to do (release version and all). It was hell on earth. Luckily the enemy was so stupid, he always attacked the same spot, so I only had to concentrate on that one... You can upgrade already hired militia from the global map and they patched in the ability to access sector inventory rather than having to walk to a specific chest or loot drop when you want something but as far as I know to hire militia in the first place you have to walk up to them and hand them a gun and preferably body armour with it, I think that's why they couldn't fix it with a patch, which is a shame.
  16. I'm playing Jagged Alliance Back In Action. Unlike a lot of people I like it quite a lot but I wish they'd patched in a way to recruit militia from the global map because it's a persistent annoyance and such a time-sink handing everyone a gun and body-armour ,
  17. This is just a guess but I think part of the reason is that whoever is on the receiving end can actually see what the show would look like and that the team pitching is capable of pulling off their vision, and also in this case they're already proving that their pitch has an audience and is someway towards being self-sustaining, rather than the producers just rolling the dice and seeing if it works.
  18. As a series Star Trek has been dead for quite a while now and it's not like there are a whole lot of Star Trek type shows being aired lately .The most recent one I can think of is Stargate Universe and that was cancelled due to poor ratings (Not knocking it btw, SGU was one of my favourite shows at time). Maybe that genre is considered a bad investment now when shows like The Sopranos and Mad Men pull in big numbers without all the cost of special effects and makeup? I can see how a pilot that has already managed to generate enough interest to fund itself would be a more compelling pitch than just a flat pitch. Fingers crossed anyway,
  19. Guessing Gorkamorka didn't turn out so well? Another idea to throw into the hat would be a new Space Crusade.
  20. The forth option was shooting the annoying hologram kid which leads to the destruction of all sentient life in the galaxy. You didn't miss much though, I think it's just one line from StarChild and then a scene of that time capsule Liara was working on with a voice-over speech.
  21. Google is your friend. It has a QTE and you think its awesome? That should be illegal. You could turn QTEs off at the options menu. Why am I only hearing about this now!? Do you have any idea how many hours I wasted on the freaking octopus? Oh my god, I'm going to be sick.
  22. It was visually very impressive but once you took out the tendrils there was an annoying "what the hell do I do now?" moment that had a lot of people repeating the entire fight over several times because it's not clear you have to head to the left. I know people knock sign-posting but seriously, I'd have a appreciated a literal sign-post for that battle.
