  1. I think Company of Heroes is about as much as my brain can handle, that much strategy would surely make my inner-general quiver.
  2. Where did you hear this? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Josh confirmed it on the Something Awful forums. Good news, it's about time he saw a fully rounded project to completion. I never saw the Alien license coming though.
  3. They should have packed it full of the classics, but it's no surprise they're going for the trendier later games. Why Jedi Outcast and not Jedi Academy though?
  4. Why don't those links work for me?!? What sort of fun am I missing out on here?
  5. oh, and don't get us started on potions use by joinables. wish that there were some way to address potion use by npcs... potion use specifically. we know that we can keeps npcs from using magic items (though some still uses potions anyways it seems,) but the behavior tabs is a bit... lacking. I turned off all the use items/use magics tabs for all my followers but Elanee still drank every single one of my potions when I wasn't looking, and I mean every one. The only solution was to give all the potions to someone who is permanently in puppet mode (ie my caster).
  6. That's insane, my mind is boggling. I have an Athlon 64 3000+, a 9800 Pro and 1 GB RAM and I can only comfortably run at 800x600 with everything on low. Is this an Intel vs AMD thing?
  7. That was what bothered me about BG2, the plot was completely urgent but if you wanted to see half the areas you had to roleplay a wandering fool or someone who just didn't give a crap about Imoen.
  8. Yeah, I fail to see the necessity for two threads on the subject.
  9. Does the construct do anything other than fight? No one seems to mention him, I thought he might have some interesting dialogues like along the lines of Data from Star Trek.
  10. Well, after renovating my living/gaming area I plugged in my PC, loaded up NWN2 and played for around 20 seconds before the game crashed horribly with a blank blue screen and refused to boot up again. I don't know if it's NWN2's fault (I've been playing it for hours without too much difficulty) but my PC is now being repaired by a professional while I've resorted to installing BG2 on an antiquated rig for my RPG jollies. Sod it...
  11. I almost bought a PS2 just to play Shadow of the Colossus, but then I remembered my Gamecube sitting in my room collecting dust. I bought several awesome games for it and only really got into Zelda - WW and Eternal Darkness.
  12. I've had a couple of minor bugs here and there (the teleporting thing roshan mentioned, a regular bug where the minimap screws up and the bug they fixed with 1.02) and one CTD that happened when I tried to save and lost the file so I had to replay an hour or so. NWN2 isn't a perfect release but I've seen worse.
  13. NWN2 is getting a fairly unfair roasting over there in my opinion. I'd take it over NWN any day of the week.
  14. Is that CPU dual core? As NWN2 doesn't support dual CPUs as far as I know.
  15. He'd better not start blastglobing me.
  16. It's just a DVD with some MP3s on it, you could probably make it yourself out of the contents of your NWN2 folder.
  17. I've been a user of Norton for many years but it seems it's hogging more and more resources every year. I'm giving serious thought to trying to find an alternative that I can actually exit before playing games...with Norton you can disable it but it still sits in the taskbar. So, which one is going to help my PC run NWN2 the most?
  18. Another thing that would be nice is being able to confirm dialogue boxes by pressing Enter. I guess that's probably the quickest way to make shopping easier.
  19. I was getting a little bored of the endless baddie-bashing until I picked up Qara and laid down some fiery hurt. Spellcasting is lots of fun in NWN2 imo.
  20. I don't like Neeshka either, she constantly whines and her squeaky voice gets on my nerves. I think I may trade her in for Qara next time I'm at the pub.
  21. Here's a very rudimentary description from someone who's never played one. Warlocks have an eldritch blast attack which works kinda like a monks fist as I understand it, improving as you level up. You can augment the blast with effects such as fire damage and you also get a very small pool of spells which you can cast an unlimited amount of times each day. At high levels you can shapeshift into a demon with the right spell choices. Here's the NWVault description from the game http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2G...ory_select_id=2
  22. My 2 pence. 1. I really wish the Power Attack and Flurry of Blows toggles would stay on until I tell them to. Right now they seem to reset after every fight which is a royal pain in the arse. 2. The zoom in/out needs to be sped up. It's painfully slow at the moment...is there a setting for this I'm missing? 3. A select-all button for party control would be very nice for mopping up the last bad guys in a fight. I'm sure I had a couple of other suggestions but I can't remember them right now. Other than that I think this game gets a lot better the deeper into it you get.
  23. I like the way you don't get any spellcaster companions for ages in NWN2. I'm playing a monk and it's novel to have to pay to get stuff identified, use items for healing instead of spells and have to bash your way through every fight.
  24. That's not the case at Bioware from what I see. 70% think NWN2 isn't very good so far and can use a lot of improvement. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds just like the WoW forums.
  25. Just installed and been playing for around 3 hours so far. It really doesn't run too smoothly on my system. I have to run at 800x600 even with everything on low which kills the dialogue text for some reason, it's really hard to read in places. The tutorial was ok, none of the characters really grabbed me until I got to the first proper companion after leaving the village, he rocks! If all the companions are as good then this game may have the best in-game buddies ever. I'm a bit disappointed in the graphics, the shot of the fireplace with the carpet doesn't look as glorious in-engine, although I haven't dared turn everything up to full yet. I'm sure the game will get better as I play, and hopefully when I upgrade my 9800 Pro at the end of the month. The contents of the UK LE are a little disappointing...paper map instead of cloth, cheap looking ring, figurine that looks more like a toy, crappy art book, tiny manual that isn't anywhere near as big as the US version. Having NWN1 + exps on one DVD makes the whole thing worthwhile though, and there's a soundtrack disc too.
