Oh, it doubles as a hoover too? What will they think of next.

There are 4 MI games so there's probably a little over 50 characters, although some of them might have to be called Cook or Smelly Pirate 3.

NWN2 has only been out 3 months, I'm not saying there'll be hundreds of outstanding modules soon but there'll be some. There might even be premium modules. Anyway I'd still like to see the MP issues sorted, the game won't last long if people can't play it online.

I didn't realise Ron Gilbert had had a chance to jump the shark. Has he done anything recently?

Wowie! The MP side of things may be in need of attention but as a mainly single-player I'm pretty happy with how NWN2 is evolving.

Damn....if I lived in the US I'd be there in a shot.

At last! No more incessant clicking of the combat mode buttons. *Power Attack enabled* *Power Attack disabled* *Power Attack enabled* *Power Attack disabled* *tears hair out*

Durlag's Tower was pretty awesome, and it had nothing whatsoever to do with the main plot. It'd be nice to see another dungeon designed as well as it was, it would have to be as hard as hell though, no cheesing allowed.

I will as soon as the time is right, that is once drivers are stable and the initial release problems are sorted out. I'm looking forward to it, actually.

I think it was a case of 1. Build Seer Council 2. Kill everything with Seer Council

At first I thought the article was saying they were going to literally freeze her, which I found a little alarming. Upon further inspection I realised what a numb-nuts I am and finished the article. I guess my opinion on this is down to how much trauma the ops will cause her. If she's going to be 3 months old mentally and physically (spiritually?) and the ops aren't hellish then I guess it's the families decision, even if it seems a little weird.

I wish Sid Meier would get a move on with his XCom license. Enough with the trains and the spears, I want plasma! Do you hear me? Plasma!

Right now I'm playing Burning Crusade Dawn of War: Dark Crusade Pirates, Knights & Vikings II (a fun HL2 mod) Neverwinter Nights 2 Aside from that I'm fiddling with a bunch of MAME games that I used to play on holiday when I was a kid. It's a nostalgic experience and a lot of those old games are really awesome (Shinobi FTW!).

Btw I'm up for some VO work as well, I haven't acted since high school though.

*wonders if there are prostitutes in the game, and what Salladin will sound like as them*

Great news about TBH. And in other NWN2 news the Tragedy in Tragidor remake has just been released for NWN2. I'm downloading it now. http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2M...sh.Detail&id=83

I'm afraid not meta, strictly MP only at present. I don't know how they could make a SP version of it aside from fighting an army of bots.

It's not exactly historically accurate but this mod is heaps of fun so far! You basically choose a team of the aforementioned warriors and then battle it out for different objectives. What surprised me is the number of different game modes that actually work well. So far I've played general deathmatch, a booty map where you have to hold a chest for 5 minutes (in a temple full of booby traps, no less), a map where the pirates and vikings have to raid the knights castle for chests and a map where you have to hold a tower for a certain amount of time. All were lots of fun aside from the deathmatch which felt a bit aimless, and there are more planned for the next releases. There's also only 1 class for each team at the moment but 5 are planned in total once the mod is up and running...the pirate class is a hoot lighting kegs of gunpowder and lobbing them into the enemy base. If I've said fun a lot during this post it's because that's what this mod is...pure fun. Don't come bitching to me about class imbalance and pirate TKers blowing up your base though. Homeworld 2 really didn't grab me while playing it's SP missions...I only finished a few of them, and I'm a HUGE fan of Homeworld. It seemed more about the combat and less about the story. I'm sure the MP side of things is probably better though.

I've been fiddling around with DC for the past few days, playing games and watching replays and it's been most enjoyable considering I didn't take to the original DoW all that well. Sure I played it for a couple of months but never had much desire to play online and didn't even finish the SP campaign due to boredom. But DC has added so much to the game I can see myself getting back into online RTSing which is something I haven't done since the days of Warcraft III. 2 new races and a new (and very useful in most cases) unit for the existing ones and a bunch of other stuff including a Risk-style campaign that you can play as any of the seven races, which is pretty good fun. Is anyone playing this online? I'm probably not the best player moment but I'd be up for a few games in the new year. If you don't know how to play it's easy...just play as Necrons and mass some skeleton warriors until your floating base 'o doom is ready to send into the fray.

It's an old and intricate RPG set in pseudo-historical Germany which has a very good character ageing system built into the char-gen. I have to admit I hardly touched it when I installed it but if you like complex sandbox RPGs and don't mind playing aged games you'll like this.

Not true...Relic have already released a first class WW2 RTS Company of Heroes along with the DoW expansion Dark Crusade, effectively going into competition with themselves which might not have been the best plan since they're both very good games. The most eyebrow-raising news is that one of their next projects is a MMORPG...although thinking about it now it's probably a Warhammer game so you could be right.

MoO2 is indeed the hounds rounds as far as 4X space games go, but my fav space strategy game is probably Homeworld. I don't think I've ever been as emotionally involved with a game as I was with Homeworld, the way the story begins is just genius (and also the best use of a piece of music in any game in Adagio for Strings). It helped that the game was also heaps of fun and beautiful to look at. I really need to dig out Homeworld 2 and play through it sometime, although I doubt it'll be as good as the first.

Gamespot awards NWN2 for Best Story in 2006
Big Bottom replied to Zoma's topic in Computer and Console
If they hired Captain Picard and Boromir to do the voices for Pac Man it'd probably get a nom for best story. -
Here's mine http://img353.imageshack.us/img353/1637/desktophu0.jpg It's just a pic of the Aurora Borealis taken from wikipedia.
