So, is anyone going to get C&C3
Well, I am having lots of fun with the single player in a nostalgic kind of way but I'm a little worried about the multiplayer side of things. Mainly that it takes around 2 minutes to tech up and then it's just a case of spamming units over and over. Fun for a while but they've got some work to do if this is going to have legs. I'd still recommend the game purely for SP goodness, and I'm only a few missions in.

It seems that interview was with EBGames/Gamestop, not Gamespot. I did a search for it. No, it's still there. http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/command...tml?sid=6166007

W00t! Installing now! Tale - Kucan gave a very funny interview on Gamespot a few weeks ago, seems like an all-round cool dude.

I don't have the game yet. Needless to say if I did have the game I'd be posting about it. Looking at unit descriptions isn't exciting enough to warrant a post and I don't have the bandwidth to download the demo. There's no sad smiley, how the hell did that happen?

I don't think they see Dark Crusade as a 'standard' build and rush RTS. The whole control point thing is a bit of a departure from that formula plus you pretty much never see DoW players massing units. I should point out that the score they gave C&C3 was 85 or 86 percent, it's just the review made it sound right up my alley. The new Battlecast feature is pretty cool too, anyone can download the client free of charge and view replays or live broadcasts complete with a commentator who can draw arrows and suchlike on the screen. It won't be released for a couple of months I'm guessing but it's still a nifty idea.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: The Shivering Isles review
1.2 has improved LOD textures, btw, so maybe try them out. I reckon Bethesda should get some credit for user-made mods. They did put the effort into the construction kit which is part of what you pay for, so the result of that work shouldn't be entirely stricken from the record. Anyway I didn't like Oblivion all that much after my initial feverish 20hr playthrough, the levelling system is just odd. I will say that the game is a triumph of atmosphere, if it were only coupled with some decent writing and a better game system it would be legendary. That's not what Beth really set out to do though, sandbox games are probably the hardest of all to make...you have to please everyone.

I'm right on the brink of ordering this game after reading a review in PC Zone where they basically said it's the perfect evolution of the standard build and rush RTS. I'm not a huge one for complicated strategy, I didn't even get past the tutorial in Shogun: Total War (it's bloody hard) and the game I've put the most hours into is easily Warcraft III, so I'm sorely tempted to buy this purely as a guilty pleasure. I don't have the time or bandwidth to download the demo right now, has anyone here played it? There didn't seem to be a huge buzz when it was released. On the other hand I have so many other games I should really get around to playing through, just this week I acquired Psychonauts and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (hardest game to type ever?). Maybe I should just wait a few months and see what happens. Christ! I haven't even got into Act 2 in NWN2 yet...damn you, Khelgar-disappearing bug!

Apparently only 2 of them are 'proper' endings though, I don't know exactly what that means.

Icewind Dale Revisited - GameBanshee Feature
Does anyone remember RetardedChimp and the soundset he made for IWD2 that consisted of nothing but 'Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!' said in various ways. That was hilarious.

Praise indeed! I'm hoping this arrives tomorrow now.

What's your primary motivation
I like a lot of things about lots of games, but I'm a real sucker for atmosphere.

Icewind Dale Revisited - GameBanshee Feature
I thought there was a severe lack of Returning Frost Darts in IWD2.

Top 25 PC Games of All Time
Hardly. It was UNPLAYABLE on my computer (which was close to recommended specs) upon release. It was BUGGY AS HELL. And finally, it didn't make me skip school, work, food, water, and other basic needs for days and nights - which Civ II did in its time. I got bored with Civ IV after two weeks and haven't played it since. Perhaps you have grown up? I think this accounts for a lot of the complaints about 'the old days', I certainly don't enjoy games as much as I used to but I don't expect to either. The real test is what Civ 4 does to the new blood of gamers.

Obsidian's third project
Are you allergic to other people opinions? It's not unreasonable to dislike epic levels since they are notoriously cheesy in CRPGs. I'm of the feeling that we'll only get one expansion for NWN2, I don't know the sales figures but I'm sure it didn't sell as well as NWN.

My results with pickpocketing in NWN 2
I've never been one for pickpocketing in D&D games, I'm not proud of it but I seem to go the blue-collar path every time I play these games.

Don't encourage him, he'll keep making movies as long as we keep paying for them.

Movies You Have Seen Lately
I watched half of Enter the Dragon last night and half of Brokeback Mountain a couple of nights before that. Tonight I managed to watch all of Bad Santa, pretty good flick but I thought the end lacked something.
