Oh man! Yes when I read those I think I was 11 or 12-years-old and I loved those books, I also loved the original 3 Dragonlance books (Dragons of Autumn Twilight, etc). I went back recently like 3 years ago to re-read the Dragonlance books and I came to the same conclusion - they are really rough - language, plot character development - they don't really have much in terms of any of that. I haven't re-read the Icewind Dale books, but I have no doubt they are the same. When I was young though they really knocked my socks off, probably because they are easy reads and simple plots, basically young adult fantasy. Regardless though they created some pretty timeless characters.

If I was not mistaken it is sounding like you like Heavy Metal!? (insert headbanging emoji hear ) But honest would rather listen to my favorite bands at a small club than a huge stadium, plus no more studio bands who sound horrible live! I am sure music industry people and musicians feel the pain, but as a consumer have been pretty happy ... not sure it is an equivalent exchange but I didn't make the rules.

Don't forget too that large Hollywood studios, and films studios in general are facing losses of revenue (2018 saw an uptick but the general trend has been downward the last 8 years or so) as the music industry and newspaper industry also lost revenue streams. It gives them less chance to invest in movies, and it almost feels like they are releasing less movies, but could be wrong. Anyway they are focused on the safe Blockbuster, as they need ones that will keep the studio afloat. I recommend if you like action flicks watching The Raid - $1 million budget / $9 million box office (extremely low budget for a feature). That's a win in Hollywood! Great film. I am waiting to see if Netflix purchases a major studio in the future. If they keep producing great content I could see it happen - I am thinking Netflix buys Paramount Studios in the next 10 years ... just as Sony purchased MGM, and now Disney purchased Fox studios Sadly, LA Times reported that up to 3,000 people at Fox may lose there jobs ... But on a positive note, the decline in the music industry led to artists having more control over the means of distribution and there own music, so we could see the same with Hollywood films. It is important to remember that low budget film investors (say those under 50 million dollars) often have relationships with directors and producers, and finance there films until they start losing money. There is the old Hollywood trope - the Texas oil billionaire investing in Hollywood movies because he wants his wife to be an actress yeah? Of course the studio have these relationships too.

Playing Aloth tank as a fighter/wizaed (ugh low HP, low damage output), but I normally start each battle with 4 concentration, almost instantly - only time I really had an issue was with that Grimoire that interrupts on each hit - Vaporous Wizardry, until I realized that was the cause, it was the only time had any issue with interrupts. Also, I think I gave him an item that gives him +1 concentration or maybe it was a passive ... can't remember off the top of my head. edit: Obviously this doesn't have much to do with solo PoTD runs so not sure if helpful.

I think you can generalize less between adjacent "marketing" generations (I use the terms marketing in the most derogatory term and am using it to connote the United States obsession with free markets and the use of these generational terms to distinguish target age groups by a multitude of businesses, marketing agencies and advertisers) since a hard cutoff date between groups honestly makes no sense unless you need to present and convince the people with money that you have a plan and know what you are talking about. People use these terms so freely, but I honestly find subculture denotations much more interesting and accurate, especially when it comes to younger people. I do believe you can make generalizations about young people in general. Like someone between the age of 20-24 may be more concerned with social status than someone in their 80s. But I think these broader generalizations can be made for every "marketing" generation, so when I used the term youth above I wasn't referring to any youth specific group. I don't really subscribe to the theory of generations is what I am saying, and the theory is only popular because it is pushed by marketing and advertisers in their work. Edit: I am thinking people have lost faith in Obsidian, its like the two strike rule, first Microsoft now the Epic thing. Optics are bad, but if Obsidian rolls out good games and continues supporting a solid community (and doesn't do lame stuff I guess) all can be forgiven I believe and a few year from now no one may remember, except as an example of why knee jerk reactions often backfire. The word assume - making an ass out of u and me. Also the word computer ... go English!! I love hearing the word computer in Japanese

Okay - wanted to add the way I get the hard black outlines, which originally came from this post here: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/103065-portraits-iv/page-12 - about halfway down the page. 1) Paint out background then I normally save the painted out background as a .PSD document 2) Change the image to grayscale 3) Duplicate the layer 4) On the top layer Invert the color 5) Still on top layer change the mode to Linear Dodge 6) Add a blur, I normally do Gaussian Blurs, so the image will then look like this: 7) Merge the two layers 8 ) Use the Filter Gallery feature 9) Choose either Photocopy under the "Sketch" Tab, or Poster Edges under the "Artistic Tab" and you get an image with black lines 10) Save this image as a PSD document and close 11) Open your saved PSD document where you removed the background 12) At this point I normally create 4 layers: a) the color image with background removed b) a duplicate of the color image with background removed c) the outline with the black edges created above d) the paper background of the watercolors They should look something like this: 07_Layers After that I play with the modes and opacity of everything but the background layer: 08_Modes This was the final image here: For the above image I did the following: a) "Color Image Duplicate" is 85 percent opacity and set to Pin Light for the mode. b) "Color Image" is set to 50 percent opacity and set to Linear Light mode. c) "Outline layer" is set to 45 percent opacity and set to Darker Color mode. Last I have been playing around with merging all the layer at this point and and dropping back in the color image below my new watercolor image. I then erase the new watercolor image that is above the most colorful sections of the original image to add more color, for the above I did the eyes the lips and the green jewel. That makes it really pop there . Anyway cheers!

“A U. S. of modern A. where the State is not a team or a code, but a sort of sloppy intersection of desires and fears, where the only public consensus a boy must surrender to is the acknowledged primacy of straight-line pursuing this flat and short-sighted idea of personal happiness.” – Infinite Jest (1996) I think most agree about your critique of American youth ...

Not sure about that argument - data mining these days is like breathing. If they use a browser, go to a webpage, use social media, you get mined lol. To nitpick about that from an online consumer perspective is pretty naive, I am no data expert or hacker but honest if a company wants to know I logon to this site a ton to read what's going on I am okay with that - I am sure Google is doing it anyway. But that being said, if POE2 was an Epic store exclusive I would be like what the hell and annoyed - but if Obsidian makes a little more cash from it, I would totally be okay with it and bite the bullet. Is the Microsoft store in China?

I use drugs ... and eat food. I like the poisons ... you can apply to weapons, and use the summoning items all the time. I use potions a lot (mostly healing) but occasionally in super tough fights for me use the buffing potions. EDIT: And I would use a feature for using drugs that made them easier to use.

Another perspective, I still refuse to use Amazon completely!! lol but normally I can buy a product through the creators own website so it is a little apples to oranges. Developers / publishers should always have their own stores, its strange that they don't - it seems like a solid infrastructure investment. You cut out the middleman, and for the video game consumer with their awareness of needing to support companies they like, it seems like most would go directly to them to purchase. Why doesn't PD or Obisidian sell there own games? I mean even if it was boxed versions with USB / old school serial codes to start the game, or even just USB stick with no box and a serial code. Is it because they are to easy to hack? Does Epic and Steam, maybe even GOG give the companies an advantage in stopping the spread of pirated copies? It seems unlikely. Edit: I mean I run a Hackinstosh at home, if you can hack the Mac OS onto a PC you can definitely hack a video game.

Yes but it would allow for more flexibility when you respec'd your character. Also, you definitely lose out on the money invested and the ingredients. Could affect balance in regards to ingredients, may need to make them a little more rare potentially. I am fine with the way it is now, but just throwing the idea out there.

Or even better POE3 - and it goes down in history as the greatest RPG ever made - for the rest of time. Obsidian eventually purchases Microsoft, Blizzard and Activision - oh, and eventually re-hires Chris Avellone allowing him to make his own games which they make exclusive to the storefront they launch in 2025 - game over.

What would people think about being able to reset your weapon enchantments? I mean, I would kind of like that a little. Also - I got really confused with upgrading to Superb as there is two options but only one has the line that goes to Legendary. For months I thought you needed (2) Kraken eyes to be able to upgrade to Superb then to Legendary. I didn't realize that you could use the other Superb route with Pyrite (or Adra Ban for armor) and still upgrade to Legendary, I thought if you went that Superb route you were locked out of Legendary. For the longest time I wasn't upgrading my weapons ... would be nice to have a proper tree diagram.

what are these fantastic things you are discussing? who knew about this? And there I was always setting up my characters with potions, drugs etc like DnD games lol. What is this copy thing?? I have seen the icon but you can put the same shield in two weapons slots???? this is potentially an amazing feature - or same weapon with two shields??? Or omg the possibilities are endless!!!!

I only run on Steam, I don't use GoG. Have you tried installing the game directly to your hard disk and running it not through a launcher? I am not actually familiar with GoG at all, so not even sure they have a launcher. I run a 1070, but with an i7 and haven't experienced any problems with the game so far - maybe a few dropped frames and slow down in the most hectic combat situations, but mostly it runs pretty great! Hmm, there was a bug awhile back where some of the top end NVIDIA graphics cards were having an issue, check this post here: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/103029-issues-with-nvidia-graphics-cards/ Not sure that describes your issue. Also, the top level of the Bugs reporting is for game bugs, it has been very active lately with the turn-based being launched, so you should for sure post there, here is the a direct link to the forum: https://forums.obsidian.net/forum/130-pillars-of-eternity-ii-deadfire-technical-support-spoiler-warning/ I would post there if you can't find another solution
