I am saying we need to mind our own store first. We still have millions of people living below the poverty line. We still have people unemployed and homeless. We are indebted to China trillions of dollars. We have large portions still in ruins due to natural disasters like Katrina and the fires in California. If we cannot take care of ourselves properly then we have no right to try to take care of others.
  2. Why? Its a good expansion.
  3. I don't see anything to avoid. People have free will, so games, regardless of rating, will only affect them if they let it. People have a choice. Plain and simple.
  4. That is the problem. They have long established that Mystra is what empowers the Weave, the magic, of Faerun. They have long established that without Mystra there is no magic, hence the literal fall of Netheril. So, if no one takes up the mantle of Mystra then Forgotten Realms, if it is to remain true to canon, then there is no magic. If it doesn't remain true to canon then it is worthless. Consistancy is paramount in a campaign setting.
  5. It is implied by the use of "training."
  6. Magic only remained because someone became Mystra. It doesn't sound like that is going to happen here.
  7. Killing Mystra is not changing the mechanics of magic in DnD. It is killing, ending, magic in the Forgotten Realms. No Mystra, no Weave. No Weave, no magic.

Sure they should help each other, if they have their own backyard secured first. The United States is vulnerable due to the stupid choices our leaders have made. We are trillions of dollars in debt to a foreign power that is adversial to us, our armed forces should not be as thinned out as it is, fghting a war on two fronts, and we have an aging population and infrastructure that needs attending to. Sure, help people out, but our government needs to put its own citizens first. In the terms of history countries have been conquered when they have found themselves at such a state that we are in.
  9. Instead of making sweepoing changes like killing gods why not start the setting from scratch. Start over from the very beginning when Netheril was just a collection of 7 villages along a river, before the majority of all these gods came into being.
  10. So what if there is "training." The person still has control. The person playing the game still has free will. Blaming a game for someone's behavior makes as much sense as someone blaming the gun for shooting someone.

*cheerfully* ...Because clearly an aggressively expanding communist bloc could have been expected to stop at Vietnam, and not go on to take over Laos and Cambodia, followed by Thailand, Burma, Malaysia, Indonesia... Australia... India... that would have been just fine. Isn't that right, my unfeasibly 1920s friend? If a country is not strong enough to stand on its own against those that transgress it then it doesn't have the right to exist.

Good thing that this is some random meaningless internet forum and not a novel. In Vietnam, as with Iraq, we shouldn't have been there in the first place.

That is wrong in of itself. Soldiers aren't police officers and shouldn't be regulated to that role. They are soldiers.

Old news and who cares he attended an Islamic school. I certainly don't. Fox news brought this sort of thing up months ago and it hasn't changed my view on the bugger. Just to note, I rather have Obama as president before Billary or Edwards.
  15. Ah, the joys of working overnight at a convenience store... A taxi pulls up outside 2 kids step out of it, a black kid and a white kid, and come into the store. The black kid spoke in a midwestern accent and qas quite polite. The white kid was almost constantly talking "ghetto." Anyway the black kid asked to buy cigerettes, Newports 100 to be percise, and I ask for ID. He was legal by a month. The white kid started to pull out the money to give to the black kid. That is a big no-no so I ask for the white kid's ID. He gets all defensive and starts yelling, while the black kid asked politely why I needed to se his friend's ID. State regulations. The clerk needs to verify the age of the entire purchasing party and since the white kid was paying I had to ID him. The white kid was getting really pissed off, threatened to kill me and beat me down if he ever sees me outside the store. I smiled and replied "I would oblidged but I'm afraid of being arrested for child abuse." The kid fumed and his friend took him by the arm and left the store, and went back into their taxi. I laughed fairly loudly at him.
  16. We have ways to force you to pronounce the letter "o."
  17. Sorry, it was CoD4 and I was off by $12 Australian. http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_...pic_id=26058400
  18. On STEAM I heard that Team Fortress 2 was selling over a $100 in Australian currency after conversion from USD..
  19. Still waiting for the PC version... If the XBox 360 had more games I wanted that isn't coming to the PC... Nice read, Volo.
  20. Tactics combat was great, no doubt about it. I would have love to see its combat in a proper Fallout CRPG. The other parts of the game was meh, but overall I enjoyed it.
  21. Couldn't you have called your landlord (if renting), or crawled through a window (done that a few times)? You don't have a spare under a potted plant or something?
  22. Yeah, a game is more fun. Beyond that I don't see a real difference. As I said, if parents don't want these games for their kids they shouldn't be buying the games for them. They shouldn't be giving their kids money to buy them. They should take an active role to see what their kids are doing, playing, and watching. Parents need to be parents. If they can't and don't want to, then they should be parents. As for Manhunt 2, it looks like a subpar actionfest that uses gore as a gimmick. If nobody made a hoopla about it, it would have passed on to obscurity by now.
  23. There is a box set collection floating out there that has Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Tactics in one box.
