Laying low for a little while seems like a wise idea, and I doubt we've seen or heard the last from Bannon.

The comments on Breitbart are hilarious. Like what comments? He didn't just fly too close to the sun here, he dove straight into it, total self immolation. https://www.axios.com/behind-the-scenes-of-bannons-exit-1515533804-334c36b1-5af4-4ba8-a7ae-e63786a552b4.html

*Missing String xxx* Mega Thread
smjjames replied to Aarik D's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
What class is that hired adventurer? I'm gonna guess either monk, cipher, or druid since those have exhibited the issue elsewhere. -
I thought you were in Colorado? Arpaio is 85, it's pretty obvious he wants to stay in power one way or another. If he somehow gets the nomination, I'd see that seat as being pretty easy to get for the Democrats. Arizona, like many other western states has been importing a disproportionate number of blue voters. It has almost become a blue state, so a democrat very well may win the Senate seat regardless of who runs on the red team this year. That's a pretty unfair jab at immigration. If Republicans can't attract latinos, then that's their problem, not Democrats usurping the Republicans. It would be more accurate to say it's turning purple or swing state, but it's definetly true that western states have been trending purple/blue. Even Texas has been following that trend, though it has a longer way to go before it becomes a swing state.

Pence is definetly savvy, I'll give him that. In 2018 midterm news, pardoned ex-sherriff Joe Arpaio announced a Senate bid for Arizona. Not surprised that he wants to stay in power one way or another. http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/09/politics/arizona-senate-joe-arpaio/index.html Another Republican, Rep. Martha McSally is planning on announcing later in the week.

The Weird, Random and Interesting Things That Fit Nowhere Else Thread
smjjames replied to Blarghagh's topic in Way Off-Topic
Do we have a space thread somewhere? SpaceX may have failed to get an expensive government sat into orbit. Ouch, this is gonna hurt their reputation for a while. At least until they can find out what went wrong. It's light on details due to it being a classified mission and the main source being WSJ. -
Aren't there programs like that in most countries though? The US wouldn't be the only one with such programs.

The Weird, Random and Interesting Things That Fit Nowhere Else Thread

Turns out that some Australian birds of prey intentionally use fire as a tool rather than incidentially. https://www.inverse.com/article/40018-australian-birds-light-prey-on-fire The research doesn't say whether this is a learned behavior passed down by parents or more instinctual, but it's definetly interesting. They can't create fire themselves though, obviously. -
Johnson actually did serve for a few years in WWII. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyndon_B._Johnson#Active_military_duty_(1941%E2%80%9342)However, it says he was appointed, which I'm not sure is the same as being drafted, and he was there in an observer role rather than combat role. edit: He actually wanted a combat assignment but wasn't given one.

still problems with repair supplies
smjjames replied to Madscientist's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
It's possible it goes into the ship stash immediately, but the ship management window isn't enabled for beta yet. -
As for Oprah running, I'd wait until she actually declares a run. Sure, she is famous, it would be hard for Trump to land a good nickname, and she definetly has qualities that would make a good diplomat. But does she have the skills? Trump is probably a poor metric to go by due to the 'sample size of one' problem, but still.

And sycophants don't make good leaders. Though it could be all an act since he knows his job security relies on appearing to be as loyal to Trump as possible. I read that free copy of that Fire and Fury book and while Pence wasn't covered much, when he was mentioned, he came off as maybe even more of a moron than Trump and allegedly the opinion of the staff was that he wasn't smart and that he was weak. What is? The Mueller interview? I'm sure they'd record it for their own internal use, but it won't be public.
-
Word is that Trump is preparing for an interview with Mueller and there are talks underway: https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/1/8/16862632/trump-russia-collusion-probe-investigation-mueller Nothing has been set up yet however. Direct link to NBC newsL https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/initial-talks-underway-about-trump-interview-mueller-russia-probe-n835506 Regardless of what people think of Trump, it's still going to be a big deal and if he lies, he'll be in trouble.

Or completely underestimating his daughters, lol. Kudos to his daughters though, there needs to be more representation by girls among gamers. :D

There have been plenty who fought in wars and didn't make a career of being a soldier though. WWII and Vietnam primarily since the draft was involved in those.

Wikileaks? That depends on who you ask and I know TheHill is a legit publication, just not sure how it would be handled as far as forum rules. If I had directly linked the wikileaks copy of it, yeah that could be considered against the rules. It's probably not a big deal, but trying to cover my ass here just in case.
-
This is funny in a schadenfreude way. You know the supposed Trump ally, wikileaks? Well, they went and shared the full text of that Fire and Fury book[/url] that has been causing so much drama in the past week. I wonder if they'll also get into trouble with the publisher because wikileaks is effectively enabling pirating of the book. @mods: I know what Obsidian's and the forums policy is on talking about piracy (as in Pirate Bay), but is it okay if I post a TheHill article which has the wikileaks tweet on it that links to the full free PDF? http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/367832-wikileaks-shares-full-text-of-wolffs-trump-book Obviously what wikileaks did would be a big no-no from the point of view of the publisher, but I feel like this might be a bit of a grey area since I'm not directly linking the PDF. Basically, I'm asking how do you want to treat this because wikileaks isn't typically a pirate torrent thing like pirate bay (the US government would disagree) and I'm not sure the exact position on the rule is for this case.

Can I ask what animal name? Those in Africa disliking Europeans due to the colonial history isn't new though.

No prob then. Anyhoo..... got nothing to pivot to atm.

Open console, type Iroll20s, then reopen and type SpawnPre[hit tab to complete the command] cre_dummy. This will place a cre_dummy where the mouse cursor is. If you reopen the console and hit the arrow-up key you can cycle through your command history, repeating the spawn process very quickly. It only takes a few seconds to place a small army of dummies. They also get spawned into the fog of war if you cursor is there (not visible for you yet) and might trigger combat with "civilians". The cre_dummy can't move and has a lot of health but low defenses. He starts hostile and will trigger combat mode if you get close. I figured they were summoned via console. No idea whether the missing string coming from those counts as a valid bug since you're technically doing something you wouldn't ordinarily do, but I posted it in the *missing string XXX* thread anyway.
