  1. Serafen seems kind of chaotic neutral (to use a DnD term) and Maia is probably neutralish. While the returning companions are definetly 'good aligned', they'll be complicated by various goals that may conflict with others ideas of what is 'good'. Durance doesn't really fit into the 'good aligned' as some would say that he is a hero while others would say he is a war criminal, but he's just a complicated person. PoE1 doesn't go into any sort of conflict between good and evil, and we can expect the same of PoE2: DeadFire.
  2. It's just an incentive to explore, though I already like to explore anyway, so I don't really need the incentive myself.
  3. You can make their borders visible or not visible. The point I was making is that it's not a 3D model as it might appear at a glance. Not that it changes the speculation, merely an observation of it.
  4. Given the floating corpses and (I seem to recall) wading through thick sand, I think knee high water might be something we do from time to time. I think we're very unlikely to actually swim though. A shark spiritfiorm would still be awesome, regardless if it's literally a fish out of water. That said, I agree that it's very unlikely we'll actually swim or even submerge entirely. All of the situations that involved swimming in PoE1 were dealt with using CYOAs. I do recall one of the Fig updates showcasing wading through sand as an example of environmental factors that would affect combat. For the floating corpse thing, it seemed much deeper than knee deep, more like chest deep water, unless that's just how the animation starts. And injurai has a point that all we have is a crop of what looks like part of a hammerhead shark shaped head, or per boeroer, a soft tissued something stepping on a marble. editwhiletyping: I don't know if anybody else has noticed, but look closely at it and you'll notice that theres the pixel grid of a visual media editing program. So, this isn't a 3D model (though whoever did it, did a good job of giving the appearance of 3D), it's most likely a piece of concept art.
  5. A shark spiritform druid would be awesome, and totally in keeping with the fact that this is an archipelago.
  6. Why do I have a feeling its a polpovir? Well, the ingame description of their mouth sounds a heck of a lot like that of a shark, or maybe a deep sea fish (which seems to be the original inspiration), so, I can see them deciding to go with a hammerhead shark style head to further emphasize the sheer strangeness of it.
  7. The first time I've seen it mentioned, was via MortyTheGobbo's link to this tumblr post. Although now, that I am re-reading it, "Sorcerer" term was used by the questioner, not Josh himself. P.S. Stumbled upon his article on balancing. Interesting read, especially about player feedback. While I agree it seems like an off-the-cuff example by the questioner, it seems logical that sorcerer could be a subclass name since it's already associated with wizard and I believe there's also a sorcerer class in DnD.
  8. Only problem though, is that they already decided on what 'Fulvano' islands they want.
  9. It's already been linked to the wizard though, partially in PoE1 by at least one animancer turned necromancer and the fact that necromancery is connected to magic. And in the White March expansion, it's linked by two of Concelhauts apprentices and Concelhaut himself. edit: Ninja'd somewhat. Also, DeadFire is supposed to have much less focus on animancy/necromancy, or at least it won't be THE major focus.
  10. Those are multiclass combos, not subclasses, which are two different things. No wait, I misunderstood. I get illusionist for wizard, but I'm not sure what evoker would entail as far as the schools of magic in DnD go. Maybe ascendant is specialized in ranged, like how soul blade would be specialized in melee. It'd make sense to have a ranged subclass since the current cipher is capable of both.
  11. For my part, I doubt that the subclass will involve much by way of literal corpse eating since it could require unique animations (which none of the other subclasses particularly seem to entail at this point) What about Ghost Heart? Theres nothing about that one that implies the usage of corpses.
  12. The only speculation that I'm aware of is the bit on this thread and my own theory. Primarily because there is so little information and a corpse-using mechanic would be completely new to PoE.
  13. Something about cannibalistic mutiny was also mentioned as happening when you don't have enough corpses around. My opinion was that it sounded like making the character into a Fampyr, but that's just speculation on my part, and seems a bit odd to restrict the Fampyr form to a barbarian subclass anyway. Also, the tweet had the name in quotes, so, it may not be the final name.
  14. Oh that, no idea how you'd turn it off, sorry.
  15. The only time I've seen the camera shaking effect is when you overload and explode the Engwithan machine at the top of the tower in Heritage Hill, though there may be a few other times (editwhiletyping: There's also the entrance collapse in the ruin at the start, but that's also a cinematic I believe). So, I'm not sure what you're talking about because I haven't seen it outside of a few cinematics, which you can't do anything about.
  16. It'd make sense to keep some of the bigger and more detailed stuff under wraps until E3 since it's going to be one big datadump.
  17. It would help to know from when you're referencing from, like what's new from what point. Though, what I know: Combat doesn't seem extremely different from PoE1, the basics and all that are still there, but a lot of the new stuff is a bit more subtle. Things like improved graphics, dynamic dodging, some UI stuff.... Fig update on Neketaka: https://www.fig.co/campaigns/deadfire?update=273#updates Really, I'd just read the fig updates. And Josh Sawyer has been doing lots of teasers and info tweets: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/92515-josh-sawyers-tweets-and-teasers/ PoE2 is supposed to be huge, though I'm not sure if any actual numbers have been put down as to how much bigger it is than PoE1.
  18. Some Aloth payback on Pallegina there (reference to an earlier vid of Pallegina trying to poke Aloth with spirit blades), heh. Whatever that blobby enemy is, the devs certainly like using it in that testing sandbox room that we've seen them use. 19. It would if the rider could dismount (or be dismounted) and fight separately. Didn't we have mounted units in Icewind Dale2? I remember goblins were riding some kind of wolves, and if you killed wolf the goblin would still fight as regular goblin unit. I don't see much reason for a horse, when you already have ship, but it might be an interesting idea for future. If the islands were sufficiently large, horses would make sense as farm animals and for towing wagons. But it might be interesting to have a unique mount type rather than a horse. Maybe a domesticated giant beetle? A seahorse. Battling giant scorpion-lobster (slobions?) mounts could be epic. You mean Sea Scorpions, some species grew pretty big.
  20. You can always do that in a separate play session from your priest of berath character.
  21. Sawyer also mentions that one of the barbarian subclasses is named corpse-eater... also something about needing sufficient supplies on your ship or your cannibal crewmembers will go wild... (https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/867465172339703808) Fampyrs! At least that's what I'm thinking. Would be a fun thing to play an entire party of undead.
  22. I'm now imagining a barbarian belting out deep voiced and loud bardic epics or something while fighting, lol.... (I actually had it on 'opera', but decided bardic epics sounded more, barbaricy.) Or Klingon opera even. What would the fighter+chanter combo be called? Maybe Skald or something.
  23. Devs are aware of this and there will be an explanation in-game. I was going to assume that the god simply willed the adra to grow back and reconnect or something because, well, you know gods. It's also not 100% clear, I don't think, that the Fampyr is actually talking about the arm of the statue.
  24. -Od Nua was definetly a noble of some kind. -his son: I thought maybe it was some kind of sickness, but that's my own speculation as the cause of death isn't specified, just that it may have been pretty sudden. statue: I thought the statue was in the likeness of Od Nua himself, as for function, we do know it becomes the vessel for a god in PoE2. Adra eating beetles: Yeah, they're pests which became a problem more recently. One possible loophole between PoE1 and PoE2 is that the arm has supposedly been almost completely chewed off from the rest of the statue, how is the arm intact when the statue bursts out of the ground in PoE2. I suppose the adra 'limb' the Fampyr is talking about might not actually be the limb of the statue.
