Modern music has made a turn for the worse
Whitemithrandir replied to Whitemithrandir's topic in Way Off-Topic
The world is a better place because dandelions bloom. Think about that for a second. Hmm, if there were war, would the dandelions still bloom? Maybe they would, saying that nature cares not for the petty conflicts of men. Or maybe the dandelions would wilt and die, showing our petty conflicts are killing the very world we stand on. Don't even get me STARTED on sales at JC Pennies and Zen Buddhism. -
sith alchemy? sith magic? Wth? Like a prestige class could be called "Sith Voodoo Witch Doctor" or "Sith Bobo the Magician"? Too Morrowindish for me.

Best concert I've ever been to was Moonlight Serenade in Athens, with Sarah Brightman as lead singer, Margie Butler on the harp and backup singer, and Blackmoore's Night with the music. Magical evening, that.

Look to literature. Make an RPG in a shakespearean universe (Othello/King Lear/Macbeth).

a.) okay b.) okay. c.) war, death, and drugs. WTF? Sing about something happy please, like the blooming of dandelions in the month of may, or a sale going on a JC Pennies down at Atlantic City featuring midriffs for only $19.99! -
Modern music has made a turn for the worse

See, what the hell is with these modern album titles of songs named "Kill 'em all" or "I have a gun and I must shoot" or a plethora of similarly violent and suggestive titles? I mean, is there nothing else to sing than capping the other guy with a glock, yo? I find this message on today's society both depressing and demoralizing. -

Interesting Main Plot Idea
Whitemithrandir replied to Typhinius's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
once again we return to the original character concept of Bastila, that of an inept, overly arrogant sorry excuse for a jedi. Hence, she won't have the capability to be any sort of "sith lord". She's the puppet, never the puppeteer. -
you want the game in dvd or in cds?
Whitemithrandir replied to a topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't have a dvd drive either. So I'd prefer CD's. -
No you dum dum, they're obviously behind the curtain.

Effects of long term Aspartame consumption.
Whitemithrandir replied to Oerwinde's topic in Way Off-Topic
Aspartame is a favorite ingredient of many a chinese snack foods, such as pickled plums and sweetened figs. Speaking of pickled plums, i think I'll have one now. :: seizures :: ahh.. that felt good. -
177. Which is funny, since I scored 151 on MENSA's test. That's a pretty big difference. Or just use Jedi Academy's difficulty settings: Padawan: double max health double damage Apprentice: double max health normal damage Jedi Knight: normal max health normal damage Jedi Trainer: half max health normal damage Jedi Master: half max health half damage. problem solved.

: Please don't make any MMORPG's, now or in the future, as this looks like the path every gaming company is taking Thanks

Oh, I'm sorry, you must have misspelled "satirize" as "complain", funny how the spellchecker didn't pick it up. "Google" is a verb, by the way. http://www.wordspy.com/words/google.asp I'd like to welcome you, dear grandpa, into the third millenium. No flying cars yet, but we're trying. -

googled some of the song names I provided, have ya? -
I don't listen to any discernible music bands anymore. I spit on bands like metallica and slipknot and nsync and eminem and whatever other stuff you kids listen to now a days. What the hell happened to music in the last few years? Now it's all bang boom WAHALALALLALLALALALAL :: Scream :: bimdouche bimdouche dernnnnananananana :: sensual female cry :: yo let's bang some ho's yo got them pimps out in da back yard, yo :: random guitar solo :: Music stopped making sense. What happened to the good old days when good music was created by educated bards graduating with high honors from professional music schools who wrote their songs in iambic that actually had non-forced rhymes and flowing rhythm? 80% of the "popular" singers can't even read sheet music much less compose!!! Until they bring back the good old days of bardic melodies like "October Winds" or "Shadows of the Moon" or "You Raised Me Young" or "Goodbye Johnny Dear" or "Norah Lee", I REFUSE to listen to any crap music much less PAY for them. Artists think they can make easy money by screaming out obscenities instead of graduating from high school while the rest of us had to go to college and get a good education to serve humanity and make less than 10% of what they're making? That's BS. I say, the artists are at fault here. The muscian industry just isn't what it used to be. If all of their songs are 5 minute jobs while smoking weed and dancing naked, then they would EXPECT to have them stolen. Look at hard-working artists like Margie Butler, SHE's not complaining about people stealing her work, because she actually WENT to music school and worked hard on practicing her voice and instrument, all her life. People respect that.

Better lightside ending please.

Who here thinks Orson Scott Card is...
Whitemithrandir replied to Whitemithrandir's topic in Way Off-Topic
It wasn't luck A lot of people praised the sequels to Ender's Game, especially Speaker for the Dead, which was a completely different book than Ender's game which I found to be on the same level of depth and sophistication as its prequel. -

Whitemithrandir replied to steelfiredragon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I agree with AlanSchu completely. Bastila was by no means a deep character. In fact, her character has been summarized over and over again in both literature and media, the epitome of a heroine (Joseph Campbell's descent into darkness, path to light, redemption) if you played the light side or the epitome of a villain (Joseph Campbell's descent into darkness, alure, oblivion) if you played the dark side. Her character is so cliche that it fits lock and key to the most banal of legendary and epic tale structures. (Let's face it, we've had enough of Campbellian characters in our English classes like Heart of Darkness, Illiad, Oedipus, Fountainhead, 1984 and 5000 other distopian novels, anything by shakespeare, stupid poems by Milton and Tennyson... Please give me something original during my leisure time...) She just happened to have a romance with your character and was female. Get over it. (Give me Fall From Grace or Annah anytime.) -
If at any point in the original KOTOR when the game made me feel suicidal to the point of gouging my eyes out of a watermelon and slowly EAT myself to death while rolling around on a bed of nails immersed in acid + rat poison, the light side ending would have been it. Those of you that saw the ending cinematic, surely understands what I'm talking. Those of you that haven't: please, do yourself a favor and skip the ending. I realize that a lightside ending can't avoid the "Hero triumphs, everyone appluads" theme, but perhaps this time around, the ending cinematic could have a little substance. Please?

Hey I got an idea. In one of the minigames, we should get a top down view of the ebon hawk, symbolized by a white triangle. Then, we could have asteroids coming in from all directions and the ebon hawk has to fire little pellets to destroy them. But when you destroy an asteroid, three or four smaller asteroids pop out. And when an asteroid flies off screen, it reappears on the other edge of the screen. We could call the minigame asteroids vs. ebon hawk. I think it'll be a cool minigame, what do you all think? (P.S.: you get three ebon hawks until you fail.)
