Do we always have to bitch about this thing? It might not be true TB, but it's also not true RT either, otherwise you wouldn't have the option to stop the action and look around. It leans towards TB more than RT. I just had to find a player with the right codecs, and I'm liking what I see here. Some of the voices are a bit grating, yes, and a lot of the animations are rough, but there's no reason the final cut of the game isn't going to be smoother. All in all, I think it looks good. I already like the Dwarven character Tiefling isn't so bad, really, either. Just another month...

I had a dream that Fallout 3 was out a few nights back I was going to get a look-see, but I realized that my computer was in my backyard, and I had to carry it inside, but instead of my house it was a hotel. A nice one. Ambien gives you some weird dreams.

Venetian Snares - Befriend a Childkiller What a satisfying mind**** this song is. I can't get it out of my head that the VS got Sulik to do the voice samples on the song not just the voice, either, but the character. Did Sulik ever say anything (non-floating text) when you killed children? *Edit - On second thought, the first line seems to be more Hakunin than Sulik. But man, I find that uncanny right now. There's a "music video" up on Youtube here (NSFW!), which like so many Youtube music vids, is made from an anime, in this case Elfin Lied, which is kind of an unholy crossbreed of Akira and Neon Genesis Evangelion (while that may sound good to some, I didn't care for any of it). It's ultraviolent (pretty much lifts Akira's entire playbook) and contains some anime nudity, so be forewarned. Hell, you can just minimize the window. The voice kicks in about 1:10.

guh, it's times like this I wish my computer knew how to handle codecs. Even DivX is pleading ignorance on my machine.

That's true. But when they have a countdown timer, it's not unreasonable for people to expect something to happen when it hits 00:00:00

Uno for the 360. It's pretty fun, as long as you use the custom S/T.

Maybe I missed something, but the toolset should have gone up 11 minutes ago, and now when I go the site, it reloads itself over and over and over. I don't think that's intentional. Many lulz. *edit - Perhaps non-english mirrors work? *edit2 - Looks like a negative on that. Wonder what the deal is.

I don't mind Tieflings. Half-demons and half-celestials, however, are utter game-breaking bull****. I like making lawful tieflings, it's great to play them going schizo eventually.

But but but didn't the script not explicitly say that Palpatine he "fell", right? He's totally out there.

Yeah? I always kicked out the original Bloodlines music. I liked the Hollywood theme, but the rest of the music wasn't so hot. As for DX's music, I liked it. It seemed overly retro when I first played it, but the longer I play the more the music fit.

Is this the thing that makes the screen shake? I'm running Firefox and all the script seems to do is move the member's names and avatars into their post. If I wanted to break the forum, I'd 50 Hitler it

I can't get my ****in' copy to work for me. And I'd say Deus Ex is better than Bloodlines, if only because it doesn't feel so rushed.

See, Darque gets it. Stealing is wrong. So wrong. Especially when one is searching for a rare / out of print item. That only makes you want to look harder for legal means by which to acquire them.

Eh, Gamespot uploaded some new screens a few days back. They look a bit more polished than before, and the Blade Golem looks pretty cool. Might have been around before and GS was just slow on the uptake

DE:IW is very lacking in comparison to the original. Some of the design ideas were pretty misguided (ie all weapons using the same ammo) The original Deus Ex is pretty ****in' excellent, though. Once you get past the blocky Quake 2 engine and the synth music (both of which I never really minded in the first place) you've got a lean sci-fi noir, and what's probably the best FPS/RPG ever made, after System Shock.

Stealing is not an option.

When was the last time an RTS really worked on a console? think about it.

Heh, you can read all about the Van Buren campaign here. There were a lot of holes in the big picture, so I've been asking around to see who knows what's what.

Thanks. I'm trying to do this as best I can. But it looks like I'll have to make my own system. Basically, the way it works is, the PCs woke up in an unfamiliar prison (very TES, amirite?) and they get sprung by a prison security breech that opened the doors for them. They escaped the prison (which is full of loonies...) and were apprehended by the NCR, who interoggated them lightly and given a mission to bring all the prisoners back to the prison because the ULYSSES computer at the Prison is a threat to the surrounding civilizations (here I'm not sure if I'm doing anything correctly) and can only be stopped once the its high-alert status (quarantine break, it would seem) is corrected. So they get an idea of where the other prisoners are, and go out to retrieve them. But as they go out into the Wasteland to find the other prisoners, they notice that they cannot sleep, except when drugged, and they are getting massive headaches and blisters on their eyes. These are all byproducts of CODEing, which is only lightly hinted at in VB. That's where I'm at right now. I'm trying to figure out how to make it more fallout-y.

Are the criterion for PC submission clear? Do they have to be PCs from a NWN server, or am I just confused?

I can smell the political hay. It's certainly necessary (the Dems need something to be riled up about, and they sure as hell aren't man enough to protect Habeus Corpus) but it had the definite whiff of spectacle about it, even if it wasn't scripted. T'ain't gonna win any House seats for them, though.

"Internet celebrities"? Is Maddox going to show up? That would really suck. I'll have to come up with some PCs. Probably won't get in, but it'll be fun to write.
