It looks really fun, though specs seem a bit beyond my comfort zone.

What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
Wormerine replied to Amentep's topic in Computer and Console
Desperados3!!! Quite glorious fun. -
Those are some smart puppies:

One thing annoys me. They botched real-showdown mode. It seems a bit of code from stop-time showdown hasn't been exorcised and your character still freezes while the rest of the world goes on. That sucks, as I rather prefer playing in pure real-time. That cuts any advantage real time might have had. Hopefully it is not intended and it will be fixed, but I did flag the issue after playing the demo 2 weeks ago :-(

No Mr. Leone. Just vodoo. It's a prequel so not all characters make an appearance. So far so good, though I didn't get much farther then the demo. They are just as subtle with their Once Upon a Time in the West "inspiration", as Desp1 was with Trilogy of Dollars.

So Hitman3 announced. Well, nice, but I think I had my fill already. Then:

Nothing you probably don't know alreayd, being Obsidian fans, but still a real good analysis.

Oh gosh, I want Freespace3 soo badly... though I know I would most likely hate it.

I mean I would be interested if it was a proper space combat sim. The more arcady approaches never worked for me. I am kinds surprised no one attempted to kickstart a proper space combat sim. I mean Chris Roberts did, but then got sidetracked by the whole building-digital-space-universe thing.

If so, then good - I am not terribly interested to begin with . That transfering power moment did pull some strings in my heart.

EAs crack at Tie/XWING series it looks like. Looking forward to how they will **** that one up

It seems you can tie down everyone on the map if you want. However, going nonlethal will cut a decent amount of fun abilities. EDIT: I might for one am not a big fan. I kinda liked how tough Shadow Tactics made nonlethal attempts. I do prefer if lethal and non-lethal play differently rather then being effectively the same. (golden example: Inv Inc)

Her bitch in this case. Not Paradox in-house project though. Hopefully, even if it will follow somewhat a similar business model, they won’t go to such an extreme as CK2 or EU4.
-
Paradox has been putting up some Empire of Sin gameplay content that I completely missed. Still looks like a potential GOTY to me.
-
Even so, it's a start. Never played Persona so I am looking forward to playing it at some point.

I found Desperados difficulties spotting time a wee bit too fast. I will probably stick to second to hardest...
-
First look at Mafia Remake. Shockingly it fails to play on my nostalgia outside the original theme popping up at the end.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access in august maybe. Newer gameplay reveal on June 18th

Hopefully not. I would rather have Mimimi continue making games. Though I do agree that THQ Nordics regional pricing is rather steep.

I might finally have a pleasure of playing Bloodborne. Bloodborne is rumoured to be coming to PC

What do you want in the DLC?
Wormerine replied to Ommamar's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
If I understood devs explanation well, then adding a functional playable 3rd person view is not a straightforward thing. If they can add it - great. But generally the idea of DLC is to add content, not overhauling the existing engine - you use what you have built already to make more stuff, which you can sell. Adding 3rd person view would means digging in games engine - which could interfere with existing content. WIth how much time the DLC is taking - who knows - bigger expansions can sometimes add pretty significant changes. As to Microsoft money. This is pre-Microsoft aquisition game. It is published by 2Ks Private Division, not Microsoft. I have no idea how this deal works, but I find it unlikely that Microsoft would fund Outer Worlds development - there is no Microsoft logo to by found. Even so, just throwing more money at the project in the middle of the development is not always helpful. Game has been budgeted, designed and built. Possibly it could have been a bigger project - but that's a subject for post-mortem - not to suddenly increase budget late into development or after release. -
It will pretty much do as much good, as owning Origin game on steam - one have to launch origin anyway. Personally, I found Galaxy 2.0 immensely helpful in tracking all games between all platforms. It has been my primary launcher for a while now.

Not to mention, prices are amusing. 50% off Dragon Age 2 still costs 20 quid. Why? It's barely worth playing for free. And they still couldn't be bothered to release Mass Effect2 DLC on steam.

Why do people play divinity: original sin?
Wormerine replied to mrmonocle's topic in Computer and Console
Many? Sure, but those games land in mediocare RPG category, and don't get praised as a new gold standard for an RPG. Divinity2 is a mediocare campaign built in an excellent engine. And while I am willing to praise D:OS2 for quite a few things, story and characters aren't them. I have seen far worse, I have seen far better.
