  1. Sorry for necroposting, but I'm wondering if there's a way to kill Lueva Alvari without aggroing the whole VTC headquarters in the process, thus failing many VTC quests. As far as I know, even if I side with Director Castol, Lueva Alvari gets simply exiled and disappears from the game...
  2. The same happens with rods (e.g. Watershaper's Focus): they do piercing damage to stuff (e.g. Sigils) that is immune to pierce, instead of doing slash damage.
  3. I killed Hamuto a few weeks ago and no one aggroed me except his friends. There's an option during the conversation to scare some of his allies off though and I did that, so maybe that's what avoided the confrontation with the whole brass citadel.
  4. Well, underpen it's 30% less damage if I'm not mistaken (on PotD every Imbue:Fireball ends up underpenetrating). Besides if you're going to multi-class, you won't have access to Imbue:Death Ring. And as far I know even Imbue:Web doesn't scale properly (the ACC of the pulses does not go up with levels). Anyway of course AA is still playable and fun. I didn't mean to exacerbate the problem.
  5. Sadly it's still bugged. I really hope it's going to get fixed soon because the lack of PEN hampers Arcane Archer's AoE damage capabilities a lot on PotD.
  6. I took "Ben Fidel's Neck Was Exposed" and I have also a Trickster/Beguiler in the party, so I'd say yes. Thanks again!
  7. BTW, somewhat off-topic: what are the best upgrades for The Willbreaker ? I'm playing a Devoted-Skald focused on Fortitude debuffing and crits. Do I go for the +25% miss-to-hit ratio and +10% hit-to-crit or down on the Resolve afflictions route? The first option looks more solid, but I have never extensively used The Willbreaker, so...
  8. I'll try. It looks tricky indeed... Edit:I did it! Took a few tries and it's quite inevitable to aggro the ogre standing on the corner, but if you run to the cages in the south west corner of the map he doesn't follow you. Doing so let the slavers on the ground floor stay neutral. Thanks again for the tip!
  9. Thanks! I tried to sneak in, but the northern room, where The Willbreaker is, is full of slavers. Do I have to use the boots two times? One to reach the weapon rack and one to escape? If you have suggestions on how to steal it, I'll gladly take them.
  10. Hi. I have a quick question about quest progression and maybe someone here could help me. If I kill some slavers in Crookspur's dungeons just to get The Willbreaker, before taking any of the quests related to Crookspur, will I break these later quests? I'm thinking specifically about Fruitful Alliance or Shrewd Proposition (which obviously I'm planning to do on Aeldys' side).
  11. As for the equipment (besides what you have already suggested), I'm thinking about the Ragged Cloak: it could fit nicely in this build. One could also wear Ngati's Girdle for another effect on being crit... and maybe get Hylea's Talons for another bleed effect on top of that of the axes... What would be the ideal stats for such a build? I'm guessing: dumped RES, ok MIG and INT, high CON to survive damage and high PER to hit the attackers. It should be also better not to dump DEX, right? Since Barbaric retaliation comes very late in the game and I don't want to completely useless before that...
  12. I'll go Aloth SC wizard and Serafen SC barbarian then. Now I'm guessing if having just Eder and Serafen in the frontline will be enough to fend off attackers. I don't think there's a way to build Ydwin as a mid-range melee character, right? It seemed to me during my last play-through (maybe I'm wrong though) that is best to have at least 3 not completely squishy melee characters. Otherwise everything will jump at your backline and screw your plans (especially in case of scripted battles).
  13. What subclass do you suggest for playing this one? Berserker looks kind of squishy. Maybe Corpse-Eater ?
  14. Thanks. I was aware of the Kapana + reckless brigandine build. In fact, I've alreay played that build in my last playthrough (was my MC). I was thinking that maybe someone had some other idea about an Eder build as Swashbuckler or as SC Fighter. I can definitely swap Aloth and Xoti, putting her in the front line and playing Aloth as a pure caster. I'd like to use him as a melee front liner though, that's why I was asking. But if it doesn't work, I'll stick to your advice. As for Serafen, fact is that I want to avoid his cipher Wild Mind subclass. I hate to have my party randomly destroyed by one of his bursts.
  15. Hi. I'm asking for help because I'm not able to decide a proper for a party for my next run on patch 4.0. My main objective is to complete all DLCs and beat all the megabosses. I'd prefer to use the default companions and I want to side with the Huana (so: no Pallegina and no Maia Rua). My ideas so far (I've been lurking around the forum for a bit, so nothing original here): MC: I'd like to play an Ancient druid damage dealer who casts beast and plant spells with max PL. So I'm going to be a Nature Godlike and I'll be holding the Spine of Thicket Green. That means I want to debuff Fortitude as much as I can. Then I'll need somebody around who can protect my MC and help him land his raw damage spells. Ergo I was thinking about 3 melee guys and one mid range support: - Eder as a Fighter who uses Willbreaker with Clear the Path or a as Swashbuckler with Kapana Taga and shield. Which one's the best? - Aloth as a Spellblade. Which is the best way to profit from Zandethus draconic fury ? I've always wanted to try the spell, but I couldn't figure out how to squeeze the most value out of it. Another idea could be using Magran's Favor and Sun and Moon and max out fire PL. What do you think? - Serafen as a Barbarian with high armor rating and barbaric retaliation and battle axes. No big doubts about this one. That leaves open the last spot, the guy who fights just behind the melee line: Xoti or Tekēhu? - If I choose Tekēhu, he should be a SC Chanter since I want to be the only druid around. How does his chanter subclass fare? And what about the chants? The Long Night's Drink Birthed the Revenge of Morning seems like an obvious choice to me, since it further debuffs fortitude. Any good ideas to play him as a ranged character ? - If I choose Xoti, I'd be more inclined to make her a SC Priest. Maybe she works better with dual mortars as a SC monk, though. But if I am not bringing around a priest with me, I'll miss so many buffs and I don't know if this party could work without a priest. What do you guys think? I'm a bit worried about megabosses. The main thing that the party seems to be missing is a source of "Brilliant" or another way to replenish resources. Any comment/critique would be much appreciated.
  16. you mean SC lifegiver, right? is the loss of PL suffered by going multi class so severe in terms of healing power, etc. ?
  17. Hi! I'm thinking of playing a similar build to yours on PotD upscaled. I'll use The Spine of Thicket Green enchanted with Empowering Instinct (+3 All Beasts Power Levels, +3 All Plant Power Levels). I'd like to have some advice from more experienced players. These are the abilities I'm planning to go with. What do you think? Am I missing something important? What can I improve? Is there some other important piece of gear that I should be keep in mind?
