Haha, okay, let's see... So sadly right now, I don't have the time to make a full build, but soon I can... Until then: 1. Go ranged Stats basically the same, you can dump Res/Con even more. Take an implement, blast and give it a corrisive lash. 2. Spells Switch all fire spells for corrode spells... There are not as many, but they still are very good. Here are a few early ones: All Conceilhauts siphons deal corrode damage, the necrotic lance does, mauras tentacles do... Otherwise I'd say focus on debuffs to fit the whole decay theme. Edit: oh well... I'll still add my thoughts later on I guess

A lot of flame spells are especially useful in melee range... For example fan of flames, Ray of fire, rolling flame, flame shield, torrent of flame. Combusting wounds is obviously useable on every range, same for (delayed) fireball, wall of flame (although delayed fireball has a smallish range). However, the majority of fire spells are (imo) better used in melee, so I'd recommend going melee for a fire centred wizard. On what difficulty do you want to play and how do you estimate your skill level? I'll just assume normal/hard and more skill than me... So for a melee wizard at standard difficulties (basically not PoTD), I'd recommend a balanced stat allocation. Let's say M 16 C 8 D 14 P 12 I 18 R 8... Feel free to change around points. probably made some mistakes with how many points there are, but you get the idea . Anyway, for this guy I'd actually not go for summoned weapons, but actually focus on spells and have a nice weapon on the side. Definitely use a small shield... Deflection bonus is great, but we don't want accuracy loss. Do you have white March? If so, go for WF noble, you will find a rapier called spelltounge that increases the duration of selfbuffs. Quite useful. Anyway, so... Spells (only early levels) On lvl one I'd say take Fan of flames (obviously) Slicken Eldrich aim Wizards double Should give you a useful combo... Wizards double at the start for protection, them Eldrich aim, slicken and then fan of flames. Consider spirit shield if you get interrupted a lot. On lvl 2 you can go crazy with the fire spells Combusting wounds Ray of fire Rolling flame/Miasma Bewildering spectacle (to good to miss out on) You might consider switching one fire spell for miasma since its a really great spell. But obviously that is no necessity. By now, you will have a great repertoire of fire spells Let's finally look at lvl three spells Fireball DAoM (so good!!) Expose vulnerabilities Repulsive visage/displaced image One more lvl.. 4 Flame shield Wall of flame Pull of Eora Confusion Again, lots of nice flame spells... Kill them KILL THEM WITH FIRE As you continue on, he will become increasingly powerful. By the end of the game he will be a fire God (not talking bout the race). So... Yeah Don't forget to put a firelash on that weapon of yours For armour go with whatever protection you feel is necessary... Maybe Aru Brerk would fit? It's an unique heavy armour that not only is red and yellow but also gives a bonus to move speed which might be useful for you.

Now, one idea that struck me was a more offensive version of the leech, but since that isn't much to talk about I thought it might be nice to try to combine this build with Fulemino Prondoni. Will be the first time I'll use wild sprint... Turns out you can even upgrade it. Also frenzy obviously gives a nice speed bonus as well, with spelltounge it will be constant. Wild Sprint Bonus should be as well (?), resulting in a constant +33% attack speed from frenzy and +6.5 move speed from greater sprint and fast runner (10.5 move speed with boots and sugar!), while running around not being stopped by engagement. How viable is the son of Fulemino and the Leech? And both specifically about the child but really about offensive spell tounge barbarian in general... I'll go for dual wielding to get up the damage, so what should be my second weapon? I thought maybe some soulbound since WF noble is not that great for a barbarian... Or no WF and go with gallants? A combo of Godshanthyr and spelltounge maybe... Thanks for any answers

I'd just like to add to the general praise.... I used to spend hours having my character standing in the inn to listen to the bard and her beautiful song... But I think a soundtrack that definitely deserves even more praise is the flames that whisper cave. I am guilty of entering and rentering the cave several times in a row just to listen to the soundtrack kicking in. Even more, the main menu soundtrack stopped me playing skyrim-dovakhiin-orchestra (now I am addicted to eora-theme though... Feels weird when everyone around me listens to popular music and I'm just sitting there listening to PoE soundtrack )

In the trap's defense: I find the magilant cloud trap quite useful, at least early on, when used in doorway fights. But it quickly looses its attractiveness I guess... But the number of times these traps helped me kill the xaurips on level two or the ogres on level three and I think these levels are the time when the trap really shines: when you are powerful enough to in theory do the fight, but in reality you struggle with it. It helps a lot, and I've never stopped using it... Just a thing of habit by now. Don't know if I'd still need them.

Pretends. Would you want to mainly focus on buffing and healing, I'd say raise Dex, but not per (you won't need to hit your own party), so something like M16-C9-D15-P10-I16-R10. If you want to focus on debuffing and damaging the enemies, switch D and P. The priest is undoubtedly strongest when he is good at both, so a M16-C7-D14-P15-I16-R8 would probably be best. Dex will give you better DPS in theory, but personally I prefer Per... I'd rather hit when I strike than strike faster with a two-hander. Upgrade to both inspiring radiance and aggravating radiance. The first will give you +10 acc for everyone and the second will let yourself receive -75% healing but you get a +2 boost on every stat as well as +2 move speed. Both will last a base of 10 sec, so if you want to focus on them find ways to heighten your Int. Remember, it's an extremely good per-encounter buff right from the start. So... Yeah Do remember that the priest on his own is not a great frontliner. Obviously, you can buff yourself beyond godliness in a boss battle, but that will probably not be your standard procedure for every battle. This is also why I recommend upgrading the radiance, it's an overall +12 acc, +6% damage, +6% action speed and so on. So you will start hitting things much more reliably. Especially with the bonus on movement, you can run behind enemies that are fiting your tank and flank them. The slicken spell of a wizard is your best friend. Disable Auto level companions in the options so you get all companions from Lvl1 and upgrade them to your current level yourself. The priests blessing spell (+5 acc and +10% damage) will also be quite useful, especially in combination with aggravating and inspiring radiance. Let me give you an very early example: you might meet a single bandit on the road just before entering gilded vale (I think it happened when you play normal or above). At the time you will be level 2, so you have three level one spells at your disposal. Let's assume you upgraded to aggravating radiance. So in this scenario, you'd probably start by shooting at the bandit with that crossbow you find at the corpse earlier in the ruins. Then when she comes, cast the radiance. Bring distance between her and yourself (no problem with +2 move speed), cast halt, then blessing, then barbs of commendation. Then it should be a matter of a single hit or two until the bandit is dead. This all is assuming you are not playing PoTD

Wael and animancy....
Ben No.3 replied to Ben No.3's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Slacker has a very good point... In my opinion, it almost seems like wael is challenging the priests to understand him and the world. He doesn't want clerics, he wants philosophers, scholars and scientists (and my main is a philosopher... How fitting ). -
A SJW is some dude following am ideology riddled with flaws. A human rights lawyer is someone who has studied law at university and decided to dedicate his life to stand up for those who's human rights have been hurt. If it is necessary to criticise the military on a basis of human rights, then the reaction shouldn't be "oh, poor military, they only violated human rights a bit and now they get bashed" but rather "okay, our military messed things up, let's fix it and put the guilty to trial."

Theresa May directly adresses theEU citizenship with this. She prefers nationalism over international mindedness. And, historically speaking, nationalism has caused quite a few problems, wouldn't you agree? Yes, it was a factor in the rise of European cultures in the past, but that does not make it a good thing. Also, do you agree with her on human rights activists not being able to go up against the military? If not her comment on citizenship, surely this must seem mildly worrying to you?
-
How does that affect the validity of my point? And I sincerely hope you are not from Germany... This kind of joke would be an embarrassment for our people. Back on topic... Miss may also said and I quote "But if you are a citizen of the world, you are a citizen of nowhere, and you don't understand what the word citizenship means." Am I really the only one that finds this to be an extremely worrying statement coming from a head of state, especially from a head of a European state embedded in western democracy?
-
And what makes you think I'm trolling?
-
This is literally what she said, please point me out how it is not worrying

Wael and animancy....
Ben No.3 replied to Ben No.3's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Nope, going full quaterstaff right now... Which is kind of awful cause she's a wood elf. But o well... That's okay. -
Teresa may, British prime minister, Conservative party conference 2016 (24:07 at the conservative parties YT video): "We will never again in any future conflict let those activist left wing human rights lawyers harass the bravest of the brave, the men and women of our armed forces." Do we have opinions on this? Right now, I am very happy that I'm going back to Germany in December (I'm currently living here in London). Personally, I regard this as a very very worrying policy. I do not believe this woman will do a lot of good to her country if "human rights lawyer" is an insult in her eyes.

Which would also make a wael priests such an interesting watcher... it really fits if you look at it from that aspekt. Hooray, an interesting alternative to a cipher -

No, I'm not... As I recall, the priests boons (but skaen) give access to a low level spell, once per rest. Berath to a lesser corrosive siphon, Magran to a burst of flame and so on. And wael has "only" lesser dazzling lights, which I find somewhat underwhelming. So I'd like to see that spell switched for either a stronger similar spell (bewildering spectacle or miasma) or replace through wizard double (as it enables interesting builds). -

I'd said it before already, I'd appreciate two changes in the deity talents system, one for wael and one for all: 1. it seems that waels talent is right now the worst option. Dazed is a very easily applied effect. Can we maybe see an lesser version of miasma of dull mindedness? It would fit lore wise, and it would make wael much more attractive. Bewildering spectacle would also be an interesting option... EDIT: another fitting spell would be a lesser wizards double. This, especially together with te wael's eyes robe, would enable the priest to get an very high deflection bonus, making wael am intruiging option for a melee priest. 2. Can we have the deity spells per encounter for high level priests (12 or so...)?
