I regard wael as being more of an reason for his priests to pursuit knowledge and philosophy. They know that wael is incomprehensible, that they will never be able to comprehend him. So they rather spend their time as collectors if knowledge, as scholars, poets, philosophers.... We see that perfectly in Defiance Bay, where the Temple of Wael is actually an library. This is unique, as it is a major difference to all other religions or even gods inside of PoE: the priests of wael do not relie on their God to understand the world, they believe that they must understand the world to understand their God. So, what would te wael's priest's view on animancie be? I feel like they'd be supportive,, as it helps them further in their pursuit to understand the workings of their God...

Oh, and can we have from high levels (12 or so) all of the boom spells for all deities per encounter ? That would be sweet -
3.04? Update on our next patch

I know I'm late, but can we maybe have a different spell for wael's boon? There are so many ways to apply dazed already... How about let's say a lesser miasma of dull mindedness ? Or a lesser bewildering spectacle? -
Monks, barbarians (HoF per encounter), fighters Paladins. I never aimed for it, but personally I'd guess go for high health and no per rest abilities so you don't need to rest as long as possible. Which is also why I would wait with the chanter until late game, otherwise the low health might cost you quite a few rests. Definitely take wound binding and field triage on every character, actual health regen is rare and it will be the number one reason you will rest.

I run: Main character, priest of wael focused on bugging and damage to some extent as well as healing CC wizard, personal build (but Aloth does that job very good as well) Hiravias, DD Druid focused on spells not spiritshift Pallegina, main tank with some Healing Devil, riposte off tank DD Zahua, using juggernaut build or occasionally switching for kana as chanter tank So that's three people in the front ... Which is a lot but I don't want to spare anyone It's a lot of fun... I get by very good.

Eothas is disappointing?
Ben No.3 replied to Slack83er's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Personally, I find it, especially as a priest of wael, not all to important to constantly spread wael's message. That is because there is no message, we and our characters can not fully comprehend wael... (If you can I'm interested ). So I agree with hiravias: my character has a relationship with wael, he doesn't necessarily follow him though. And with that in mind, everything is a lot more interesting. -
O gosh... It's just a normal priest of wael... Nothing exiting but that one synergy I didn't even come up with (yes yes very cool invisible wael priest, but is it that useful?) looking at 18 5 15 15 18 5 spread I believe... I need to get him to do damage, my wizard is useless in that regard. As soon as I get everything I might add something to this forum Promise But wouldn't a priest of skaen be better to work from invisibility? Stack sneak attack bonuses and so forth...

Character picture issues
Ben No.3 replied to hrwd's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Even so, I don't find the in game portraits limiting... There are two fully covered faces (one with evilish helmet and one goodish)... Which work for everbody besides godlike. Then you can be creative... Many humans wear hoods or helmets, so they might as well be elfs (no huge difference besides ears), most can be dwarfes, Works especially well for female portraits. That aumaua holding a mask? Make a blue skinned heart Orlan. Any nature godlike could be an green skinned wild and in some cases heart Orlan, for male characters add the stag helmet (finally it doesn't look awful). Make use of the fact that you can make a Orlan look elvish. I just realised how many of my thoughts circle around modifieing Orlans... Guess options are not that broad after all But there are a few portraits I always found very intriguing but never manages to fit a character to... The aumaua with the mask (what class is he even?), the female elf with the shoulder tattoo (would be such a cool monk... But wood elf monk... Besides long pain maybe not that worth it), that crazy old man with only half of his teeth and the crazy look... I also really likes the one wild Orlan female portrait. There is also one girl that has yellow eyes... How cool is that? Maybe she's an avian godlike with very little mutation...(No white hair though... So no witcher )O well... Being off topic... Sry bout that -
And you can't even get his boon! I'm surprised so few people are explicitly asking for that bug to be fixed in 3.04 Andrea, I think you don't understand... This is actually done not by accident but by purpose. The boon will trigger at random, and without letting you know. Or maybe it works all the time, and it just never tells you. Or maybe it never works. Or always, but the numbers don't get adjusted. This is to represent the very nature of wael himself.... Maybe one day he'll let us know why
