That is definitely a funny explanation from Nintendo's end. A good counter-example is Hearthstone which will let you use the same account on any device that will run it. If anything, Nintendo is making a risk-averse decision like they did with Super Mario Run. There is enough concern about "hacked" or modded android apks that they are trying to segregate the two game economies. As far as the iOS App store goes, the only big rule developers need to follow is that you are not allowed to have a purchasing feature in an iOS app that circumvents the app store. Spotify got in trouble with this a couple years back when they had their own mechanism for buying subscriptions instead of using the usual IAP method.

pink dice weekly challege
Ethics Gradient replied to dvirbl's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Just so you know (and to anyone else who stumbles by). The Pathfinder app gets different updates from the server at different times. Gold is pretty instantaneous. But with other stuff, it is easy to run in to issues where you "get" a new card/dice set, but it somehow doesn't sync between the "cloud" and your device. When new stuff appears missing, quitting and restarting the app usually does the trick because login seems to force a card/dice sync between you and the server. -
pink dice weekly challege
Ethics Gradient replied to dvirbl's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
New dice can occasionally be finicky. Often you need to force-quit and restart the app. After you see the "Logged In" popup, your dice totals should get updated. -
Not sequential at all. Just a random number between 1000-9999 (if I recall correctly). Mystery solved!

Yuparoo! You'll have to replay the scenario on normal with a minor handicap, but it is possible to regain loot cards without having to start all the way from the beginning again. Good luck.

Personally, I was just going to print off a little postage-stamp-sized sticker and put it on a SD card full of Pillars installers from GoG. I honestly don't use disc media now. It is extraordinarily unlikely that I'd ever use that disc in the future. Its also extraordinarily unlikely I'd need an offline copy of the GoG installers on a SD card, but hey, why not?

Technically, the trademark still exists, and is owned by Interplay. That company may be a hollowed-out shell of its former self, but it isn't quite dead yet. Putting the words "Black Isle" near a lightning bolt rocky island logo might make a lawyer grumpy somewhere, even if it is being used for something as mundane as a forum badge.

Patch 1.1.6.3: More bug fixes!
Ethics Gradient replied to Aarik D's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: Announcements & News
Quest decks are made up of different sets of cards than the Adventure Decks, and are unrelated to your purchased content. In theory, you could quest your way to Tier 4 without unlocking any of the Adventure Decks in story mode. -
Missing Red Dice
Ethics Gradient replied to TheStubbs's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Everyone who successfully updated their app to 1.0.3.7 should have received six red dice, regardless of whether or not they purchased the RoTR bundle. It was only from 1.0.3.8 onward, that you need to have purchased the bundle to get the dice added to your account. -
Ameiko and Orik
Ethics Gradient replied to aspekt's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
I don't recall how I did it, but I managed to glitch them out of of the tutorial once. Nice and OP for the early scenarios, but with a limited skill tree and no roles, you wouldn't be able to take them further than AD3. -
Music stopped playing
Ethics Gradient replied to Duque's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
There appears to be a specific issue with Unity and devices running 32-bit iOS 10 (A6 processor). [i.e. iPad 4, iPhone 5/5c] [iOS] AUDIO WITH 'STREAMING' LOAD TYPE DOES NOT PLAY ON SOME DEVICES RUNNING IOS 10 I don't think there is a workaround, but Unity reportedly fixed the problem in 5.4.3.p1. -
It would be interesting if that were the case, but I think we're all drawing from the same treasure tables. I haven't seen anything to suggest that I have different odds from a user who's just starting out. It's okay that we have conflicting theories. This way, treasure cards can still remain mysterious!
-
Pretty sure it is. Keep in mind that potential skewing is rather minor. The overall bias against some of the AD5/6 cards is probably only a couple percentage points. Oddly enough, the "rarest" type of card is currently the AD3 Legendary. For whatever reason, the chances of finding one of those is pretty rough. The treasure tables were reportedly adjusted a couple patches ago, so this may be the "intended" drop rate. A dev would certainly have to comment further. I'm merely a Pathfinder Chronicler. Edit: Oh, and to get back to your other question, the advice you normally hear around here is to focus on unlocking adventures and characters first. Chests are nice, but the best way to add variety to the game is to focus on the other content first.

Card rarity?
Ethics Gradient replied to Weskingofscots's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
No, I don't think it is. The new filagree seems to differentiate Reward Treasure cards and Promo cards from the Treasure Cards you find in packs. Nice! -
The post you are thinking about was forever ago, when the game was stalled out at AD3. The treasure chest RNG was slightly biased towards AD0-AD3 cards instead of AD4-AD6. I'm guessing that the theory was to give a slight edge to cards you can use, instead of cards that are waiting on later ADs. The bias didn't have anything to do with how far you have gone in the game. It was just a matter of how much of the game had been released.

That's how I'm feeling about it. I'm not a venture capitalist. The arcane details behind the funding don't really matter at the order-of-magnitude at which I will contribute. I'm just offering up my $50 pledge (or whatever), to show support of the game, and get a copy whenever it is done. Anti-hype aside, I'm not seeing how Fig and Obsidian won't deliver on that.
