  1. I hate to say it, but the 'Can't log into the game' and the 'Banishing entire hands worth of cards' were higher priority items that needed to get out _now_. The progression break on Quest mode is likely to be in the next update. It's likely a more difficult fix, and would have delayed the other fixes getting pushed.
  2. Also, the forums are split up by purpose. This sort of thing belongs in the Technical Support forum, where there's already a few threads talking about this. Best part is, those threads have the answer for you, which is that the issue is known, there's a fix, and it'll be released in an update shortly.
  3. Hey guys, We have fixed the issue with the loading problems as it was posted here: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/90608-game-wont-start-after-patch-to-116/ Thanks for keeping us up to date! So you fixed the issue? I don’t see any fix when i go to the directed thread. Just like i keep looking for the multiplayer mode that IS STILL part of the Google Play app advert... Aarik it would be nice to see better accuracy and honesty here... And i still can't load the game... Yes, they fixed the issue, and it will be released with the upcoming update. Top of the thread, in green. They're being _VERY_ open and honest about these issues. Chill, man.
  4. It's weird, but I'm almost _thankful_ for the bug that kept me and mine from playing these last few days. I would've been frustrated but not freaked out, but if my wife had hit this... *shudder*
  5. I have the game in both my tablet and my phone. I'm having the same problem as you on the phone, but not the tablet. My best guess is that for some reason the update is been set up as tablet only (probably accidentally) and the game checks for an update on its own. That's why you get the message in the game, but you can't download anything I know of tablet apps that you can't even see on the store from a phone. I didn't know this could be the case for updates, but it's the closest I've got. I can confirm this is not the case, at least for the Google Play store. My wife and I both use the same model of phone, on the same OS. I saw the update, she didn't. It's something far more weird. Apple store... maybe?
  6. Aarik, thanks for continuing to update us on this. If it's some of the nastier bugs we're hearing about (The ally that banishes the hand of everyone in your party, for example), I'm happy to wait another day or more to get logged into the game.
  7. There seem to be a few reports of recharge powers not working. There was something in the patch notes about tweaks to that type of power.
  8. Thanks for the quick response, Aarik. Good luck in figuring out the legacy compatability issue! REALLY want to get to share the new content!
  9. So, I was REALLY excited to download 1.1.6 and get started on the last Adventure Deck. Unfortunately, as soon as I downloaded and updated, I tried to open Pathfinder... and it froze during the loading screen. I'm running a Galaxy S5 Model SM-G900V, running Android 6.0.1, kernel version 3.4.0, Build number MMB29M.G900VVRU2DPJ2. I've tried closing out the window and re-running the app. I've tried force halting the app. I've even tried uninstalling and re-downloading the app. Nothing works, it just freezes at the Obsidian/Paizo/Unity load screen with the bladed wheel loading icon. Please, PLEASE tell me you're aware of the problem and rushing to get a fix out?
  10. Vault of Greed is dangerous.. but only to characters who attempt to take from it. Characters can get around the effects by keeping their hands to themselves. The Vault of Greed may have caused the forum to be a little more vocal about this request, but it isn't just some minor bit of rules-lawyering. Characters passing on boons is literally mentioned several times in each of the four Pathfinder ACG rulebooks, and the devs said they intended to implement it. This isn't just about weaseling your way through the Vault of Greed, it's also about not having to waste your time the thousandth time you come across Caltrops or a Short Sword. Being forced to make a check on every boon is a bug, not a feature. It was an issue back in the beta. It is still an issue now. I suppose my thinking is a little skewed, since there seem to be so few Items actually worth acquiring in general compared to the number of crappy Items, so I assumed the Halls were meant to imply a compulsion. Always made me laugh at the Pit of Malfeshnekor when I encountered it. If they ever implement this, it'll certainly make the Halls of Greed a similar joke.
  11. Good call on the rangers vs elves. I didn't read closely enough. They are strictly superior, assuming you don't need the magic trait (And let's face it... you almost always have a magic ranged weapon to use).
  12. I've mostly played with Harsk on my primary team of 4, and I find that he's quite capable of holding his own in a fight, and is incredibly useful when others need a little bit of a boost. My build is - +1 Armor, +1 Item, +3 Allies, +1 Blessing. Sniper, Seven card hand size, Reload, Miraculous Dexterity Pretty much exactly what you recommend above for weaponry, though haven't gotten the sling or the venomous crossbow yet. (Deathbade, Black Arrow, Giantbane Dagger, Venomous dagger and shortbow) For armor, I've got both the Catskin leather and the Snakeskin tunic. Items are Belt of Incredible Dex, Healing Poultice, Masterwork Tools, and a Revelation Quill. Three Black Arrow Rangers (Who'll be updated to the elven archers when I run across them) and Shalelu. Between the Archers, his own weapons, and the occasional blessing for himself, he rarely if ever has any trouble at all killing anything that moves (Obviously 5.4 bosses on Heroic and Legendary after buffs get tougher, but...). I'm not sure why there's the impression that he's more of a burden than a help, honestly. I do have to ask... how is someone using Ebon Thorne with him? It specifies Melee combat check, and he uses Ranged. Is there a bug that allows him to benefit from it?
  13. I remember seeing the first possibility after encountering the above bug. Sometimes the Ogrekin would just jump back into the deck as if I'd lost the encounter, and every so often it'd just kill itself without me even rolling. This happens on Story mode as well as Quest mode. I don't have specifics, I'll try to encounter the bug again and write down the party and scenario.
  14. I have a feeling that's an intended lack on the item, specifically as a differentiation between her and Ezren. He can get his check high enough to auto-recharge the NoF, but she can't.
  15. Um... there _is_ a way to pass on a boon in the electronic game. It's called evading. Merisel is one of the 'safe' characters to play in the Vault of Greed specifically because of her ability to say 'no thanks' to anything she encounters (Along with Seelah, who doesn't have items in the first place). If every character had that capability for Boons, then what would be the point of many of the punishing aspects? I get that in the physical card game, you can choose to fail to acquire without rolling, but TBH, it doesn't need to be in this version of the game. Yes, Vault of Greed is dangerous. That's... kinda the point, isn't it?
  16. I admit, I've never actually encountered either of the bugs, and have gone through 5.4 multiple times, beating it at least 5 times on normal, and once each on Heroic and Legendary. I saw someone theorize that part of the problem had to do with Shimmering Veils of Pride, which makes sense as all of my successful runs involved closing that location before killing the three bosses. It might also help to kill them at different locations (IE, not send them all to the same location). All my wins took place when I had the boss cornered and temporarily closed the other locations. As for the Halls of Greed... I hate to say it, but you kinda have to play around it. In the runs with my 4 person team, I just sent Seelah the Paladin, and laughed at how easy it was, since she didn't care about the banishing. In my six person party that didn't contain Seelah, I stripped one PC (Amiri, I wanna say) of any items I cared about losing before starting the scenario, and sent her in there. *shrug* It's all about strategy. With people complaining about Legendary... guess what? It's supposed to be hard. Took me almost a day straight of playing, losing over and over as I refined the strategy (And yes, sometimes just forfeiting a game immediately, because it's damn near impossible with '-2 hand size' AND another power)... and it was some of the most frustrating fun I've had with the game. It was an actual challenge. I really hope we get more in Deck 6 that are this hard in Legendary.
  17. Hey, Flounder... it's past the holiday. You... uh... got any more of those... releases?
  18. Keep in mind that 'developers' are not a faceless, interchangeable resources. A project like the dice skin is mostly going to be assigned to artists and renderers, not people who're being 'taken away' from rules/programmatic bug fixes or developers of the new content. In all likelihood the 'frippery' as you put it was something for people who otherwise wouldn't have work to do. Now, there _might_ be some bottleneck in the QA department, but it's not likely a significant portion. I admit that I'm vaguely annoyed that I won't be able to enjoy the dice skins yet, as I won't spend gold on treasure chests until AD4 and the new items come out... but that's a personal resource optimization choice that I'm bringing on myself.
  19. Flounder, Thanks for sticking your neck out like this. I completely understand not wanting to give a hard date, because that's usually a recipe for disaster if it's missed (Or worse, bugs left in because you had no wiggle room in the release date). Just knowing the ROM time frame you're aiming for is great. Looking forward to AD4, and hopefully a smoother path towards 5 and 6. And now I can stop relentlessly checking the forums on the off chance the question was answered.
  20. I think at some point a series of optional 'house rules' would be a great addition to the game. Unfortunately, until they complete the entire Adventure Path, that 'at some point' is far in the future, and would eat up valuable development and testing resources that could be spent in getting the first AP out. To be honest, having played at least a little bit of Skull and Shackles, I think the problem isn't with the mechanics of Blessings, it's the general difficulty (Or lack thereof) of this Adventure Path. I agree that Armor is at best an afterthought, because of the all-or-nothing nature of combat. If there were more creatures that did damage when defeated (Especially COMBAT damage), then armor would have a larger place in the game. As it is, I typically only use armor that doubles as another type of card (Blackcloth, Serpent, and so on).
  21. I have been and still am a huge fan of the work done for digitizing the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. Not only do I play it, but I got my wife hooked on it too. When I saw the release of AD3, quickly followed by word that AD4 was coming in June, I was amazed. That was an incredible pace for a mobile game. As someone in the IT industry, I also completely understood when June slipped by, and no AD4. We're now getting towards the end of July, and haven't heard anything about the next AD, though. I recognize that your QA team is working hard to make sure the new AD doesn't contain showstopper bugs, but I was hoping we might be able to get some word on when you're aiming for release? Eagerly awaiting the next decks (And secretly wondering how the heck you're gonna do Skull & Shackles, much less the more recent zany decks).
