Skulls and Shackles Cards
Edannan replied to HarryWhoHaa's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
Just because they make it a separate app doesn't mean they need to start from scratch. There _are_ some new mechanics in S&S which will require some new code, and they'll need all new art assets, but I don't think that'd take as long as you're saying to make. It depends a lot more on how well the Steam launch goes. If they make a decent amount of money from that, they'll likely get the green light to start work on new Adventure Paths. -
Banished Cards in Sandpoint under Siege
Edannan replied to Edannan's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Any motion on this, Devs? My SO still can't play, and that makes her _very_ sad. -
My SO's game seems to have encountered a deeply strange bug. She was attempting to do Sandpoint Under Siege 4-1 on Heroic. During her turn with Amiri, she misjudged and Amiri ended up dead. She then tried to forfeit the game. When she got to the screen where she could modify her party, multiple cards were missing. She tried closing out the game and starting it again. When she selects that party, she's taken back to the point right before she forfeited. The problem is, there's no banish mechanic in the board she's playing which would explain the lack of cards. Please, any help you can give would be appreciated (Hell, even just getting her out of the scenario without the cards being banished). She loves the game, but is afraid to play in case her other parties get screwed over by this. General (For all issues) What device type are you on? Android What version of the OS are you running? Honestly, if you're going to try beating Into the Eye on Heroic/Legendary, your party matters a lot less than your specific cards. Make sure everyone has a solid, reveal means of reducing non-Combat damage. Things like Ring of Protection (Or Superior if you can), Ring of Energy Resistance, Blue Ibis Lamellar, and so on. It'll save you a _ton_ of heartache. Stock up on means of searching/manipulating the deck. Augury, Scry, Magic Spyglass, Revelation Quill, Amulet of Inescapable Location, and so on. Designate one or two of your characters as your battlers, and make sure everyone else is equipped to support them. As an example from your list, make sure Seoni has Lady of Graves's favor power and stock on up Pharasma blessings, as they'll give d12's.

She also was my character when I first played, and I had a lot of fun with her. The other players were so stunned by the stunts she can pull, they almost accused me of cheating, or at least of having read her abilities wrong. My favorite: recharging an entire bad hand (like when the starting draw doesn't have a weapon due to her favorite card being 'Ally') by repeatedly scouting 'in place' (which kind of feels dumb, because basically you're just looking at the exact same card over and over) so I could draw a complete fresh set of cards. Actually, that didn't even occur to me at the time. Nice catch. I had a similar experience with the Cavalier(Lancer). Giving him a Mount (Or better, a variety of mounts) that can explore allows for utterly ridiculous situations, like closing two different locations on the first turn of the game. It turned Justifiable Deicide into an absolute joke, thanks to the Dire Griffon. Wrath is a bad set to compare to the others, because the character power is jacked up to compensate for the insane difficulty increase.

Strongest Party
Edannan replied to Bbear's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: Characters Builds & Strategies (Spoiler Warning!)
I'm still _really_ fond of Seelah, Lini (Spells focused on Cure/Support), Harsk, Seoni. You have a lot of flexibility even in off situations, can cover nearly any closing type, and have a broad range of support options for critical situations. As you say, Lini can struggle with defeating deck 6 legendary monsters, but the only legendary decks I had any real trouble with were Thassilonian Sins and Into the Eye. -
As a disclaimer, the Paladin is my favorite Class since AD&D second Edition, so my Opinion is probably highly biased. This opinion baffles and amuses me ever since the boardgame came out. So how long? 3 years? After all she is the only character that CAN beat any corporeal Monster, Henchmen and most of the Villains up to and including AD3 WITHOUT a single card in her hand. Notice the can, you won't win them all. Just often enough to probably get what you want from your deck. I won complete Games without ever getting a weapon ito my hand. Rolling the Equivalent of a d10 on every roll you want is not bad either, even if it scales badly with blessings. Take a look into support magic and you will be a lot happier. For being terrible solo: I soloed heroic and legendary difficulty with her without any troubles well into AD4. And for a note I havn't finished AD5 yet so no, she isn't maxed out. Seelah is the Character I add when the rest of the party struggles with a game. I also disagree a bit on the upgrade priorities. I usually go with recharge Spells on inspired Grace first, followed by an increased handsize. That means also investing into additional Spellslots first, before dipping into Blessings and Allies. A fourth weaponslot is nice to have, but it can wait a while until you can get some better weapons for it. Ironicaly with formal Seelah I am contemplating buying the third Armor Slot. There are some really nice Supportive Armors in the treasure Chests. Yeah, I'm a little baffled as well. Other than possibly Lini, Seelah's the most flexible solo character in existence. Yes, she can be a little slow out the gate due to hand size (I'm a little on the fence as to whether it's best to get the 5 hand size or the recharge spells for Inspired Grace first), but total agreement that her card upgrades should always be spells/blessings until maxed out. I also tend to give her nothing but Cure spells. She pretty much becomes immortal after a while. To the OP, hitting Shadow in an early scenario sucks, but it's just bad luck. It's one of only a very few monsters that require Magic/Fire in the B deck (Might be the only one, I'd have to check the Gallery). Move to other locations and finish them off first so that the Villain is in the deck with the Shadow and just keep exploring till you hit the villain and close the location. You'd have the same problem with Valeros, Amiri, Harsk, Merisel, or Sajan.

For me, personally, Seelah is by far the best all-around character. If you focus on spells and blessings for her cards, she has effectively costless, on demand d6+ bonuses to _every_ roll. When Paizo reprinted the character, they nerfed that ability for a reason. Putting healing spells on her means that she's self-sufficient, and close to immortal, especially if you focus her on Iomedae blessings/favors. I tend to prefer Seoni over Ezren, but they definitely have their niches. Seoni did take a bit of a hit when they nerfed Flasks, but I love her versatility. Also, the ability to roll d12's on blessing of Pharasma makes her shine as support, especially if you have another spellcaster like Lem or Lini stocked on helper spells. She desperately needs healing support, though, so I typically give her the Poog and Father Zantus. Honestly, I have no idea why people dump on Harsk so much. Even without the ability to help others, he's still pretty amazing as a villain killer, especially once he starts rolling d12's when using blessings on his Dex.

Loot Question
Edannan replied to Weskingofscots's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
I'm not sure where you've heard talk about nothing new coming out. We know that the Steam release is the next big thing they have planned, and then likely some expansion on the RotR stuff. We know that they're interested in converting the other base sets, but there's no plan for it _at the moment_. To be honest, given the additional mechanics in S&S and WotR, we're likely to see Mummy's Mask translated first. That doesn't have any really NEW mechanics other than Trigger, and that seems like it's not a heavy lift coding wise (As compared to, say, ships, or Mythic stuff). That having been said, they're only a 10-person team. How well the game does on Steam will likely determine if they can expand the team and accelerate any additional content/new base sets. -
Rune forged weapons card
Edannan replied to Stormforge65's topic in Pathfinder Adventures: General Discussion (No Spoilers!)
They're not a card you put in your deck. It's automatically applied. -
5.4 Heroic is a training ground for 6.5. Unlike in previous adventures, you can't really just push your way through. Ideally you want to avoid encountering a villain until you've closed the locations that don't have a villain, but also close the problem zones (Veils of Pride and Sloth, IIRC. The one that makes you recharge a card after succeeding in a check, and the one that only allows one card played per check). A lot is going to depend on your decks for various characters, how you've taken their powers, and so on. Ideally, you should be using Augury/Scrying/Revelation Quill to be digging through the decks trying to locate the villains and isolate them. You only want to fight each one once.
-
TBH, other than Valeros and Lem (Who are the buddy-cop version of peanut butter and jelly), I never have my characters in the same place, unless there's a very specific reason for them to be together (Usually healing, but sometimes if I know what the top card is, and it needs a specific skill set to beat). With the villain mechanics being what they are (Temp closing), there's an incentive to be apart. And later in the game you start getting 'damage everyone at this location' effects that further punish bunching up. About the only things I can think of that reward bunching up are a few specific powers (Valeros and Lem being the big ones), and the ability to fight multi-check monsters with multiple people. But... TBH, those are few and far between.

So, I just recently spent a few days working on the Heroic and Legendary versions of this fight. Normal wasn't all that hard, honestly. My party was Harsk, Seelah, Lini, and Seoni. TBH, Lini and Seoni ended up being there for nothing more than Scry/Revelation Quill/Amulet of Inescapable Location/Blessings. Harsk and Seelah were the ones doing the fighting. Between Seelah and Lini there was more than enough healing. On normal I just powered through, using the deck manipulation to put Karzoug on the bottom and making sure I was set up properly when I hit the Blue Dragon. Doing Heroic and Legendary (Where it's 2x your party in henchment) required me to grind a little bit. Fortunately, Harsk already had a Ring of Protection, and Lini had the Ibis Lamellar, so they didn't really care about the Warden of Runes. I had to grind up a Greater Ring of Protection for Seoni, and a Ring of Energy Resistance for Harsk (Gave the RoP to Seelah). On Legendary, Harsk was the only one killing things, with a Slaying Bow, Leopard Leather, Ring of Contortions, and a Belt of Physical Might making sure he could kill what he was fighting. Even still, it took probably a dozen tries, as any small mistake screwed you over (Accidentally flicking the die for a combat because you forgot you'd done all the checks), and there were a few bugs (Twice I had situations where I was about to kill Karzoug, but the game bugged after he did all his BYA checks and just ended the combat with him undefeated). It's definitely rough, and a complete change from how the rest of the game runs.

1.1.6.1 Hotfix healing issue
Edannan replied to nogardtla's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Odd. Has been working perfectly for me. Can you give some more details of the party you're using, whether it works 'sometimes' but not others, and if so, what you're doing when you notice it stop working? Also whether you're using an iPhone or Droid? -
I will also say that Into the Eye changed all the "rules" completely. The Adamantine Plate Armor would have been incredible, especially on the higher difficulty levels. I found that I simply couldn't beat it on Legendary until I'd farmed some to get each of my people some sort of reusable 'reduce all damage by 1' or better.
-
In general, the only armors I care about are the ones that _do_ something for me, and if I _happen_ to get into a situation where the 'bury to soak a ton of damage' is relevant, so much the better (Though when it IS relevant, it's often super-relevant... gorram Blue Dragon). For the most part, the only armors I keep are: Ebon Thorn - As Oh_Emgee said... pretty awesome. Snakeskin Tunic/Ophidian/Leopard Leather - Adding to any Dex check is pretty great. Early on, Blackcloth armor is nice, depending on your playstyle. Steel Ibis Lamellar is amazeballs, specifically because it helps with cold, electricity, fire, AND combat, and it's a reveal to reduce by 3. Especially in AD 6, where random elemental damage is splashed around like crazy. The ability to recharge for a d6 on Dex or Con is just gravy. I'm enjoying the Fortified Breastplate, since it's got the reveal to add 3 to Fortitude checks. Demon Armor from AD6 adds 1d4+1 and Fire/Magic to combat checks Pelt of the Ulfen Wolf (Wolf wolf? Moon moon?) seems... meh. Recharging to add a d4 seems underwhelming, but at least it doesn't clog the hand. From playing through Mummy's Mask, it appears Paizo kinda got the hint about armor, and made armors protect against elemental effects from the get-go.

Previously, when a new AD was released, those of us who'd purchased the bundle got a promo card. I haven't seen anything about it for Spires. Anyone know if there was one, and what it was? Also, previously when you completed all of the deck's scenarios on Legendary, it unlocked a reward card. Anyone happen to know if there is one for Spires, and what it might be? Normally these two items are in the launch announce or the preview for the deck, but I can't seem to find any info on them. Any help is appreciated!

Playing on a Samsung Galaxy S5, running Android 6.0.1, kernel version 3.4.0, Build number MMB29M.G900VVRU2DPJ2. Game VER-751-20161222, PFID 6403F15BB3E475BE. Scenario 6-5 Into the Eye. Party is Seelah, Harsk, Lini, Seoni. On my first run through of the scenario, I successfully defeated a few (Want to say 2) Warden of Runes. Then Harsk encountered the Enslaved Blue Dragon. Bug went as follows: 1) Explore 2) Henchmen encountered 3) BYA damage check is performed for all characters 4) Harsk successfully defeats the Henchmen. No defeat animation (Card burning up) triggers. 5) BYA damage check is performed for all characters 6) Harsk is displayed the combat roll (At this point I forfeited the scenario due to massive damage/resource loss) I started the scenario again, in case this was a one-time bug. Seelah (The first character to act) encountered a Warden of Runes. The bug repro'd with this encounter. I'm going to try again a few more times, and will update when I do. EDIT: Sorry, this is on Normal difficulty, in case it's useful info. EDIT 2 : Seems to be intermittent. On my third run-through, Harsk encountered the EBD and defeated it without trouble, I defeated two more Warden of Runes, then the third triggered the bug.
