New here/love this game
Hassat Hunter replied to hancock's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Minority, eh? I don't think that's really correct, despite what some BioWare fans want to make you believe. -
From TheWitcher.com, where I was contacting tech because the DLC code from TheHut.com, where I ordered The Witcher wasn't working...
-
Good to see I am not the only one seeing DX:HR as AP2 with crappier graphics . Not that I'll complain if it's just as good. On Topic; The Witcher II, obviously.
-
Yeah, 12:01PM in Poland now. Though it's an ETA. Most developers don't hit those, so we'll see. EDIT: Anyone else thinks "owners of retail version will notice the biggest difference" means DRM gets removed from Retail versions in this patch? Took a look at my savefolder. Haven't even finished chapter 1 and it's already 1 GB big.

Double-post, I know... but just found;

Thanks. Although I was expecting a fix for the DLC not downloading . Just the file in my documents should do I think, but you probably cannot download that anywhere. So still have to wait for 1.1 to continue. But seeing how the issue described is also true for me, maybe if 1.1 hasn't dealt with that it's still useful.

Late reply... So that's how I got conjurer. In that case, Intimidation gives "Cover" (+10% damage reduction). Once I find another Persuasion event I will list the Persuasion ability . Also, no one knows where to get if not having the DLC? (darn infinite re-download.) Too hard to wait for 1.1 . EDIT: When do we get the Let's Play Witcher II, Tigranes?
-
Let's hope they improve it in patches. From what I hear they did for The Witcher 1 (my first play was already with EE).

L.A. Noire looked pretty ugly to me on the X-box 360, character heads excluded. Maybe just me though. Anyways, a few levels, some better equipment and the wraiths hit the dust in 5 seconds, not me in 5 seconds. The difference was so big I wonder if there is level based damage addition. Cause I barely scratched them before, and 3 hits now. That doesn't seem on-par with my upgrades. Anyways, game on hold until the patch. Unless (chapter 1 spoiler) . Don't want to finish Chapter 1 with open quests...
-
So, question. Has anyone ever failed intimidation, charm or that spell? Because I got the abilities up to lvl 3 pretty rapidly and without ever failing. Seems a bit too easy, unlike the rest of the game (yup, met the Wraith. Ouch. I'll be back more prepared!)

Yeah, I already got 3 vigor. And already fighting enemies that take 2 vigor for a block too. True. And they seem pretty useless sometimes. There are 4 doors to Flotsam Plaza, and 1 open passageway. If that's possible why the doors? (it keeps annoying me that even if open he has to walk through with a new animation and can't just run along. And as said, it seems especially useless here... Not loading screens, but the "loading" animation does turn up quite a few times in outdoor locations. It doesn't hamper the game at all anyways, just keeps rolling, although I suppose less powerfull systems may not... Odd. I can just fine. Although sometimes the mouse wheel works even when it shouldn't (character descriptions being one. And you can't scroll back up once you got a faulty scroll down). You have to select another char and return

Only chapter 1 too, but yeah, the game is a big buggy and has some rough edges. Got stuck a few times, fighting with enemies through invisible walls (area-transitions), one CTD so far, the launcher acting up after the game is shut down (X don't work, or if it does the wolf icon gets stuck on screen. And no way to shut it off!), got the infinite re-downloading DLC issue, and it's quite odd the many times you can select posters through walls, just to have a closeup of nothing. The edges are worse though. Amulet shaking is pretty useless when it's lit up all the time, because there are guaranteed stuff it wants to bring to your attention. Even torches it seems. I hate this things by the way. Always getting in the way of opening doors and looting. Talking about me being a kleptomaniac, selling items is a bit of a pain too. Junk I mean. It only appears in "all" Sellings a bit hard too with no way to see what you have equipped (bad memory). Most minigames are pretty easy. Used to Fahrenheit so the QTE's pose no issue. Fighting's easy, fistfights are (and yes, even on a decent system the cursor is a bit laggy, it's likely on purpose). Dice Poker is less fun than Witcher I though. I keep losing my dice even with a normal roll (only seen the PC do it once in 30+ games), sometimes my "stored" dice block my others, resulting in the second throw going all of the table. PC cheats harder too. 4 in a row on first roll? Seriously? Fighting seems a bit hit-and-miss. One on ones are really easy. Though mobs. Darn. Sure you can parry, but with (without skills invested) only 2 tries and slow regen, when 3 heavy people beat on you... Also it would be nice to parry and move. It's kind of annoying to suddenly turn into a wall when pressing the E button, holding it and strafing seems to be much more efficient (now what game did I remember having such?). Also no way to go back but turn tail, exposing you to massive damage . Oh well, I see what the rest of the game brings. And if you're interested in graphics. All maxed out (so higher than ultra sets it), bar bloom (hate the effect), motion blur (see Bloom) and Ubersampling (which made it seriously lagging. Also background textures during the intro and with Triss became blurry and sharp with each camera move, which was gone after turning it off. Good, as it was annoying. Can't see any quality loss, so I wouldn't advise anyone to use it even if they have the tech). 1920x1080 AMD 6-core, 1.1Ghz each 4GB memory Radeon HD 6950 2 Ghz

My Shep will go for a Garrus/Tali three-some. I wonder how Liara would respond to that (sadly I couldn't nuke her too as a means to say "no")
-
Still waiting for my version anyway. Guess the only downside of having a physical version.
-
Ooooh... time to test my new PC to it's limits. Wonder if HD 6950 is enough too 0_0

Woot. Awesome. Even if I end up disliking the game (unlikely) it was worth getting the CE just to make a point CDProject rocks :D.
-
Same! And beating DA2 shouldn't be too hard. If it fails in even such a simply goal...
-
Just pre-ordered the CE. Can't wait. Hasn't PoTC and MI always been anyways?
-
Right, husks. When I read that I was more thinking mechanized foes. And went... WHAT?
-
They did? Never noticed that during ME2. Anyways, list of additional features sounds great, bar Cerberus (they just have no clue what to do with them each game, do they?) and "Reaperfied enemies". I mean, what?
-
Can't say I am thrilled either with plot-critical DLC packs. But we'll have to wait how ME3 explains Sheppard being on trial (especially Shephards like mine who killed the council. Who the hell puts us on trial?) before saying it's bad, or saving me from what I hear, 2 hours of boredome...
-
Seems a bit rushed, Tigranes . But funny never-the-less. TW2 play would be nice... I might even read it sooner than this one (if only can I find a place which still sells the CE)...
-
Exactly. It's kind of hard to do with mission based gameplay, for me atleast. And it also made it harder for me to fit the game in, since while with most I could just stop when needed, here it made much more sense to finish mission a mission, so I only played if I had 2 hours to spare (just in case), not if I had some spare time to continue. Which is kind of the opposite other people seem to have here...
-
I wasn't really talking about real urgency though, more a feeling of urgency... (as demonstrated by the use of "can't shut down the game because I still need to do X" argument). I was more saying I never really got that feeling, unlike several other RPG's where it indeed was 'just this more, that more, 2 AM'...
