  2. Same here. Unless they seriously fix the UI, or have some EE with several new sidequests per chapter...
  3. Well, we're obviously reading the thing in different ways. Because my take on it is that they realised that they shouldn't focus on the data mining, but instead on the actual feedback. DA2 was made-by-the-numbers (and I still like it, shrug), now they're trying to think creatively again. IE. that what they learned was not to do things in the same way. Yeah, Gorth's right. Wheter or not they really do so is up for grabs, it's just that that line in their press conference fills me with less than confidence. Although it mentioning DA2 did things wrong does give promise again, so I guess we'll just have to wait for the final game...
  4. ?????????????????????????????????????????????? During the rare "stealth" sequences of the game, you can often expect yourself stuck to a wall when you don't want to. Less than lighting candles instead of bashing in brains when you wish too, though... I got stuck on cover once or twice in a bad moment, so actually yes, it would've been better. Same here, same here. So yeah... No? It was quite fun to have a console-playing friend of me have so much issues with shooting, while I breezed through pretty much all the time. Cover just got in the way, especially if enemies spawn in on a timer, so you better clean up fast...
  5. I've yet to play a cover-based system where cover added to the game instead of me just yelling $@@^^@$ get off that $#$@$ wall! ME2 probably came closest but didn't hit the spot either. Games where I dispise the cover-system and the game would have been better without it (that I recall just now) GTA IV ME 1 Alpha Protocol The Witcher II
  6. It's not... it's from the older boards. Forgot them too untill re-installing ME1 and all the pain that is involved in finding my ME1 BTTS key again...
  7. Same here. And I am pretty sure the only reason I got one was because it was required for "Bring down the Sky"...
  8. I find it fun going to the GOG forums and hear people complain about combat, saying the Witcher 1 method was perfect, and people wonder why it went. Odd, before Witcher II, I don't think I ever heard ANYONE say Witcher 1's combat system was good, let stand "perfect". Those feckle gamers. Can't please 'em it seems. Anyways, using the amulet more my second run, why are puddles of water in the prologue dungeon lighting up???
  9. Am I the only one who finds it ironic that *you* say that?
  10. Or I let DX-fans speak who are far more verbatose than me;
  11. I'm still wondering about the whole "outdated", "not aged well" part. It's been thrown around so much, and nobody cared explaining exactly what all these pages? But well, here I ask once again, cause I still don't understand what you guys mean when saying stuff like that...
  12. Since when are big areas a con? Do we need hallways that are crawling with thugs. Did that make DX:IW so much better, corridor running? Much re-loading due to the small maps? Also, what kind of bizarre logic is "single entry point" as a con? Does HL allow that? No? Any game that does that? Sure, DX:IW did depending on your pilot, but I hardly see that as making maps more interesting. Every level needs a start. If you mean "can only enter Liberty Statue/Gas Station a single way", then, hell, are you misinformed. They are, as said, also a lot more simplistic. A pure FPS can allow that, but in DX Stealth also has a factor, so unlike HL foes first there's exploring sounds and actually knowing where you are before going over into action. I can't recall a moment in Half-Life where the Combine and such didn't know magically your location immediately as they snoop in. So you didn't even play System Shock II either? Your missing out...
  13. I was thinking quite the opposite. Withcer II is today's pinacle of RPG's. And it's not quite a DX/BG2/Vampire: Bloodlines/SS2 etc. Or is the standard of "good" graphics for you? (you didn't quite answer why DX is outdated). HAH HAH. Sure, it's no AP/Witcher II though. HAH. Seriously? What? The levelbuild is one of the best? Again, what? I am still annoyed when people say DX or AP AI is bad, and cite a random FPS shooters AI as better. Without seemingly being able to understand that AP and DX AI is far more complex. Of course AI "looks" better if it's build without stealth in mind and always knows your exact position always, instead of being realistic and having to know you're there. *sigh* Seriously, play it. You just sound like one of those whiny kids who come here saying AP is "horrible" and broken and filled with bugs and stupid and then admit they never played it but read it in a "review". No, no, they don't. Name me ONE other game in 1999/2000/2001 (to make it easier for you) who has a system like DX. SS2 doesn't count since it's older (and also, sadly, one of a kind). It's better than the railroad experiences shooters usually are these days, without any influence AT ALL. I seriously hope DX:HR does better in that regard... Again, play it for yourself. Why are you bashing a game you even admit have no knowledge about. It shows you know... The DX/TNM veterans over at Off Topic Productions agree with your assessement. That includes me .
  14. I suppose graphics-wise, you are right. But is that really the ony important thing? For the rest; I have no idea what may be "outdated"???
  15. 25%. Yeah, I had that one. Though stunlocked with 150+ damage per hit quickly drained my 500 hitpoints. Pretty much if they landed on me (seemed no indication where they land) I was done for, making it more a gamble than anything.
  16. Wait, what? And that on the forum of an RPG-developer even...? I don't even know...
  17. Just finished my first game. Chapter III sure is short. And I hold true to my word, not a single use of Quen through-out the entire game . Now to replay on hard with the same limitation (and different choices of course). Small question; anyone defeat ? Always when I was close to defeating his gargoyles stun-locked me to death. Just wondering if he can actually be defeated, and if it has any benefits. Was gonna give it a try with updated equipment, when the game ended...
  18. Ehm, there is a skill in the "Witcher Training" path that does exactly that. And at lvl 2 reduces all blocking damage 100%. So the only thing limiting you is Vigor. Or do I get you wrong here?
  19. I fail to see how it can be blamed on Gearbox. I rather have OE work on RPG's, not Shooters. BioWare already fills that role...
  20. Apparently. I really liked DX's system (aim before shooting), and guess what... DX uses it. I definitely think that's the way to go for action RPG's. Not insta-aim like most FPS, or horrid systems like "here's where you might hit, good luck" like Vampire: Bloodlines. Auto-aiming like the ME2 vehicle is an option too, but that utterly sucks of course.
  21. Colors look fine to me. More forums should have colors like these.
  22. You know what's funny. Today I started ramming left mouse like no other on weak enemies like harpies. And it became one fluend spectacle of death. It kinda reminded me of a game... then it hit me... Batman A:A. So here we are all wanting an A:A system, and it's already in. How amusing. Why it doesn't appear that way is because enemies here don't take turns, instead of going to you one at one, they surely battle as soon as they can. And that breaks the combo. But if you fight enemies who fight in weak but large numbers you can see the system as is, since they don't have time to retaliate before you go to the next...
  23. It was hilariously easy though. Pretty much only way they had to thoughen it was fire-arms, and using "special" foes. Good luck seeing them in a mob of 20 and not ending the combo prematurely. Good game, but while the animation of combat was great, combat itself was bad. I don't really see too many issues with AP or TW2 though. Many people mention they HAVE to use rolling or Quen? I don't really recall that being the case most of the times. Sometimes I feel like I am the only person who knows how to use the E button reading boards like this...
  24. It's more being promised all DLC and getting shunned out of quite a few...
