Tried 3 demo's today... Ridge Racer unbound. Fun, reminds me (a lot) of Split/Second: Velocity. Just... not as fun. So no buying it even with 50% off. Next up was Warlock. Spend over 2 hours just on the demo. Was that I HAD to go otherwise I probably clocked in a lot more. Definitely getting it, worth 10 euro. Although I am a cheapskate so I wait the weekend off seeing if it gets 75% off instead of 50% too. With a backlog of about 40 games or so... no rush. Third up was Binary Domain. It was BAD. Then again, that demo was 15 minutes long (and I was slow)... what the heck kind of demo is that? Is the real game as bad as it shows off here? Oh well, guess I will wait for ME3 to drop in price or replay Alpha Protocol. So 2 out of 3 demo's where good. Pretty nice score... usually new games aren't that good in pleasing me...

You're using 1.6 in this time and age? Seriously? First... why the ancient version? Second, why the ancient version without the ancient patch. 3... enable your cheatconsole, since it and "warp 003ebo" will probably be required to leave Nar Shaddaa now.

Not saying F2P is bad... actually, quite saying staring blindly on subscription is a downfall for MMO's. And with subscriptions faltering... I can see them trying to raise their "subscripters" instead of doing the wise thing, going F2P and actually getting more players and add revenue through transactions. They could cash considerably from "singleplayers" who might like a small x-pack but no subscription for example. But of course WOW being subscriptors still will probably deter them from doing that, trying to go on "the old fashioned way". I was pretty much putting a connection between "succesful running" and "f2p"... nothing more, nothing less. Even Valve claims they should have done that with Team Fortress 2 from the start...

I didn't buy it... Back to Volourn... Free 2 play Free 2 play Haven't quite heard of the last 2 in a while, so not sure how they fare. Are they still on a subscription model?

Maybe. But Wow's success puts blindfolds on publishers, who just see big monies. Of course pretty much every MMO bursts like a bubble, but they can't see that... But nope, they had to make this. Something single-players dislike due to the heavy multiplayer focus and boring MMO quest (kill X) that intertwine their story, and is disliked by MMO fans because there is too much story and not enough boring grinding and repeating the same stuff at the end that's apparently "fun"... Can't please both with the same game... despite how much BioWare tries. Probably people like me who just want KOTOR3, and only "play MMO's" because BioWare forced that down our throat. It's like wondering "I don't understand people playing Fallout 3/New Vegas who want to have isometric turnbased combat experience from the game"...

I wanted, but couldn't slog myself throught act 1 again (back with patch 1.1 or 1.2) to experience it. Maybe should do it now with the EE being around...

Do you want Alpha Protocol 2?
Hassat Hunter replied to Marburg's Postman's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
I am pretty sure I already supported this somewhere. But what the hell, here we go again. And yes, it often looks like I played a different game than the reviewers. Problem shooting? Did you read the tutorial windows? Buggy? I've had more gamebreakers and other bugs in ME2 (around the same time released). Graphics? Come on, you're just nitpicking. Etc. etc. -
I haven't played TLJ (yes, I know... death to me) and even then I found Dreamfall rather lacklustre. It's not much an adventure. And for what it does it does it far worse than, say, Fahrenheit.

Bet they wish now they made KOTOR3 instead though... Or has there been a substancial profit already?

DD sounds like Kingdom of Amalur. Also have to agree no fast-travel or auto-leveling is more a pro than a con.
-
Have you seen Mass Effect 3's? Or Diablo 3's? I am surprised people still put weight in Metacritic these days with the mass sabotage going on...

Never got into Diablo (or any Blizzard game really). Neither Torchlight nor Titan Quest. I did enjoy Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 immensely though. Bit of a pickle what to play. Get my actual gaming PC back in a few days, so only a small time left on my spare I use now. So probably should do a short game so no transfering stuff when I do get my PC back. But I am rather interested in longer games at the moment... Most of which also have bigger requirements than this PC possesses.

Fortunately I saved all cusom made fan-patches (since the site of them went dead like 4 years ago, and couldn't find them again since). Wonder how well the GOG version works, since the bell in Rain is still a pain in the arse (on my old single-core, don't even know how bad it would be on my current PC).

They are kinda annoying singleplayer-heavy completionists like me though... grrr... Don't want to miss out a side-quest and story and dialogue combined to that just because of failure to spam the talking screen. Or because the team completed the mission and for some reason I am still considered on it, and suddenly I would have to re-do it all over again even when I found a team... Still waiting for them to make it free-to-play. Can't take long now... Also, yeah, can't see myself getting warm to the prospect of Dragon Age 3. Sorry BioWare.

Prevent_Surkov's_Escape: will it ever be fixed?
Hassat Hunter replied to Zerias's question in PC Support
Blame SEGA. All they allowed was a single small patch. Which is damn hard to find to boot... -
Yeah, the lack of monster diversity in Witcher II didn't really make it feel Witcher... :/
-
I found the fist fight's easy... and that was with keyboard with 1.0. Probably should replay it with the EE and now the Elves' side... never could push myself to complete chapter 1 again when I tried it with 1.2.
-
Most are fixed. But yeah, those who aren't do stand out. Dave said an update will come, but when... no-one knows, not even he...

Light side stuck on Telos
Hassat Hunter replied to roydragoon's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's in the FAQ. Basically, it's 1.0b introducing that issue if you immediately drop your weapons. Question them first, no issue. And if you have experience with KOTOR2 from the x-box... you might be interested in making your next playthrough with restored content? Also fixes this issue (and many many others); http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/13-tslrcm/ -
I can really recommend TNM. Otherwise I wouldn't have made a fanmade fixpack for it (you know, like TSLRCM for KOTOR2. I don't invest in stuff I am not interested in). It's standalone (all 3 mentioned are), so no conflict if used with vanilla DX (although you can use the renderer for vanilla, might fix issues). Other recommendation; "Burden of 80 Proof". It's pretty much an adventure though. And if it looks too dated for you, use New Vision... Doesn't change anything but textures, so you still get the base game if used on your first run too... http://www.moddb.com...s-ex-new-vision

Little costly to play such, no? At least that would be my concern...
