Well, it probably plays likes a 3rd-person shooter using UE3. The game doesn't base its core shooting mechanics on RPG stats or whatever nonsense, instead using the RPG elements to add to that base.

Starting off in singleplayer probably makes it easier. AI is smarter than the average gamer. Which isn't saying much or anything, really.

Which is a pretty sad state of the current WRPG industry. RPG combat *should* be compelling in and of itself. It just hasn't really been in the last few years except for Magical Volo and Hades. And Gabs re: FO3.

ME combat wasn't good 'for a RPG'. Nor was KOTOR. Shallow gameplay with limited tactical breadth and depth doesn't make for compelling RPG combat.

And KOTOR was a pretty bland dumbed-down D20 'turn-based' system. Both games have pretty mediocre combat.
