Yeah, stay away from DS FPS games. World Ends With You is a neat little game, but it'd be the last one I'd consider recommending Morgie.

Well, you're stuck with JRPGs if you want turn-based RPGs. There are Worms games on DS. Skip the first one (limited gameplay, apparently), and get Worms: Open Warfare 2. Hotel Dusk was an interesting game, but I found the actual gameplay itself somewhat lacking. Maybe the new Fire Emblem DS could work, since they replaced the usual anime art with CG-like portraits instead.

Advance Wars is awesome TBS, yep. I've only played the first DS one, though (some, possible Morgie , will complain about the kiddy art). Days of Ruin remains unplayed in my massive backlog. Puzzle Quest is also awesome, good mix of puzzle/Bejewelled and RPG elements. Haven't picked up Galactrix yet (if it's even out already). There are PC versions anyway.

Warhammer is apparently not very good. Haven't played Sonic myself, but impressions seem to be generally pretty negative. If you want a JRPG-style game, there are better choices on DS. If you want a Final Fantasy, FF4 is a good pick, for starters. I like Castlevania quite a lot. Some people will complain that the series is starting to feel a bit old, but if you've never played them before, the three games will feel pretty fresh, and the gameplay/bosses are pretty fun. Combines action-adventuring/platforming with some RPG elements. I'm not sure how good Metroid Prime Hunters actually is. I mean, it emulates FPS controls with a stylus. And, IIRC, it was more of a tech demo than anything. It's nothing like the console Metroid Primes. You also have access to the rich GBA library, thanks to backwards compatibility.

Sonic Chronicles is probably horrible unless you need to buy absolutely every Bioware game. CivRev is Civ on the go, which sounds pretty good. Might be a bit simplified/streamlined compared to Civ4, though. Phantom Hourglass is pretty neat. Depends on how much you like Zelda gameplay. It's stylus only, and works pretty well. There are tons of DS games to recommend, it really depends what you feel like playing, or what you'll absolutely refuse to play. If you like one of the Castlevanias, there are two others available as well. If you want a manly man's game, get Contra 4. If you want to be a ninja chopping things to bits, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword is also pretty good; that one's also stylus gameplay.

Or, perhaps, that's the best part about it.

AI is target practice. It's really a multiplayer-only game. That being said, it's pretty nice in terms of providing realistic gunplay in the Eastern Front. Fixing bayonets and manually reloading bolt action rifles is pretty neat. Anyone expecting some sort of competent singleplayer will be disappointed.

Woo, RE5 shipped. I might (or might not) get it tomorrow, or else Monday or so. Also, CoD5 has a demo, which includes co-op. Guess we should give it a spin sometime.

Well, I logged onto the PS3 with the purpose of getting this, but I actually ended up playing games. On the PS3, I know, it's pretty counter-intuitive.

Demo was nice, but I'm not a huge fan of Tower Defense. As to why Noby is fun, it's pretty obvious. You eat your own bum. Also,

I can't say how great a game it really was, but I found the combat better than in FO1/2. Single unit turn-based isn't particularly compelling.

Well, one QORE episode is 3 bucks. I wonder if I should take one for the team.

I have Flower. It's okay. I guess it's a short relaxing experience that looks nice and has soothing music. It's not a 'gameplay' game, though, and is overhyped by the 'games are art lol' crowd. I can't say how artistic it really is, but it doesn't have the most compelling gameplay ever. If anything, Noby Noby Boy is more artistic. You play as Nick, and you walk around eating humans and dogs and space monkeys. You control both your face and your bum independantly, so you can eat stuff while pooping it back out using separate controls. If you get cut in half, you eat your own bum to get it back. Yeah, games are art, yeah.

You should give LittleBigPlanet a try. Your daughter will probably like the look of it.

Well, they'll be important if it's a gun-focused game. It's like how flight sims enthusiasts will panic if their game doesn't allow raising/lowering flaps or allow you to manually lock the tailwheel.

Well, you're in luck! While Sony had the bright idea of removing PS2 backwards compatibility for all currently manufactured PS3s, they still provide good PS1 emulation. And it can be yours for only 599 US dollars. Isn't that right, Warhawk guy? Besides, the PS3 thread could use more posts.
