  1. I considered the Strong Attack and Area attack to be more of the "special move" variety.
  2. Both LOL. Overall pick actually. But I'll admit I had 6 years of anticipation for that game. For RPG of the year? I only just played a bit of Jade Empire, and honestly was disappointed that there was only one button for attacks, and it was all the same combo no matter what I guess I was expecting it to be more "action" in the action RPG KOTOR 2 is probably the best RPG I've played this year (going back to November 2004 :D), but I think it's actually the ONLY RPG I've played this year. EDIT: I really liked Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory though. It had excellent production values, the best story of the bunch, and finally fixed some of those annoying flaws we saw in the first two. Sam was much more badass, and the game wasn't as critical for you doing "bad" things, that wouldn't technically fail a mission IRL (just piss off superiors like Lambert). The co-op mode is also great. My roommate and I just started playing it, and its so much fun when you're holding your breath to make sure that sentry walking past absolutely cannot hear you
  3. I didn't bother with Bendak, since at level 2 it'd be a touch to difficult IMO. Too aggravating anyways. I only did 2 or 3 of those fights IIRC.
  4. You can get plenty of opposite points and still attain mastery. On my extreme playthroughs I pretty much had mastery before I left Taris.
  5. I'm actually talking about Half-Life 2, which so far would be my pick :D
  6. :"> It's much like reading a book I enjoy again. I do play through it in different ways and with different progressions and whatnot. 10 times is a bit extreme. I think 4 for KOTOR: the standard playthrough, where I "roleplay" the whole way; All the way LS; All the way DS; All the way LS Consular, powergaming like mad to see how strong of a Jedi I could be. Went through entire game at level 2 until Dantooine, and immediately levelled up like mad. Had close to 500 Force Points if I recall
  7. Not me, if I have the bling to fork over for two HDTVs!
  8. Nah, 2004. Game of the Year is so iffy when dealing with the ends of the previous year. Were previous games played enough? Were the polls done before they could be added? And whatnot
  9. Anybody that doesn't just go through the game being evil/good ALL the time to get the mastery bonus ASAP is in my book. The worst is the people that reload because they've gotten some darkside points like it's some sort of blemish on their perfect record or something
  10. And Moo2 doesn't fall under that category?
  11. Game of the Year? Does a game released in November count?
  12. Those screenies sure make me appreciate my Radeon 9800 Pro.
  13. I guess you could say that the poor reactions to the changing influence is attributable to the game being less than finished. After all, it's "just" changing the dialogue to match the alignment (plus all sorts of stuff to make sure quest triggers are all hit properly and a ton of other stuff....but it's "simple" right :D). But yeah, I was disappointed with that part of the influence.
  14. It could always be Nintendo is being more realistic with their predictions
  15. That was one nice thing about my install of Fedora Core. Given the way Fedora is distributed, it's waaaaay easier to have incremental updates for drivers and whatnot. It pretty much autodetected my entire system with latest drivers when I installed it
  16. I would have liked to have seen Atris as a potential ally...even if purely as a NPC that wasn't part of your party, but you saw in action at other places. Of course only when you convinced her the true path of the Jedi
  17. lol Still, I had to dig up a floppy drive to use my l33t SATA drives
  18. Why did they move again? I asked before but I cannot remember
  19. I love my Athlon 64. 3500+ Socket 939 here 1 GB dual channel mem....yum.
  20. I heard someone quote John Carmack as saying the best defense against software piracy is quality software. I can agree to a point, but at the same time I don't know *anyone* (myself included) that actually owned Quake 2. And all id Games since Q3A (both of them ) have CD Keys, soooo
  21. I haven't, mostly because I have a soft spot for the underdog, plus I have enjoyed the Windows performance out of my ATI cards as of late.
  22. Sweet multiplayer with a CD Key seems very effective. Games like Diablo II, Half-Life and whatnot Of course you *could* argue that they're just good games
  23. I suspect the biggest "challenge" would be dialogue...particularly the voice. Although I would probably be happy if even Aurora did it. It could even be silent for all I care, if the content is still good.
