  1. Fortunately that wasn't the question that was posed.
  2. If I didn't know any better I'd say you had some reservations with the first one.
  3. Man, what a move Connolly did to score on the Leafs!
  4. In no particular order: Bioware Black Isle Studios Blizzard Microprose Valve Honorable Mentions: Bungie, Infinity Ward
  5. I actually pronounce it "Days-Eks" Flows of the tongue easier.
  6. I'm going to agree with the assertion that PC Gamers for the most part do build their own computers.
  7. I've learned to curb that desire. When I played FEAR, I still though it looked hella good on my lowly Radeon 9800 Pro. I'm not someone that needs 1600x1200. In fact, most games I just set to 1024x768 because it's the resolution I have been playing with for years. Unless I look for it, I don't notice the aliasing so it's not that big of a deal. FSAA also is moot for me. I do like anisotropic filtering though.
  8. For what it's worth, he doesn't run an FTP anymore Though I think his reasoning is that he cannot benefit from it much anymore. Bittorrents and whatnot made him unnecessary.
  9. He'd receive access to other people's servers in doing so. And he'd have a request list, and anyone that would upload a requested file would get a password so they wouldn't have to wait in line. It's how he got all of his games. He even got CD keys and whatnot so that he could play the games online for free too.
  10. Unfortunatly heavy exposure and critical acclaim alone do not sell games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When I said heavy exposure, I was talking about the prevellance of pirated copies. My roommate at the time had an ftp server and wholeheartedly participated in distributing pirated games. In one week alone he had over a thousand downloads of Thief. It was one of his "best sellers." The only other game that was being pirated at a more proficient rate for him at that time was Half-Life.
  11. But earlier you were saying that it was really in no way an FPS.
  12. He also said it when you scorched people with Scorpion's finishing move, while flashing "Toasty" on the screen, so I'm pretty sure it's "Toasty"
  13. I did buy Jedi Academy after beating it too.
  14. Looking Glass Studios is probably the poster child for piracy hurting a company. Both Thief and System Shock 2 had heavy exposure throughout the internet via piracy, as well as critical acclaim. Both games had hideous sales however. I remember reading up about how at one point, there was more people playing Tribes online than actual copies of the game being sold. It's no coincidence that excellent multiplayer games that started to require CD-Keys to play online resulted in an explosion in sales. Furthermore, what about single player games? How many people actually go out and buy a single player game that they've already beaten?
  15. Geneforge and Galactic Civilizations were both made by small teams as well.
  16. No problem logging in 300+ hours in Guild Wars I see.
  17. I really like the Luke Vs Vader fight in Empire Strikes Back. I just get the impression that Vader is an absolute badass toying with Luke and he has power we can't even imagine. Duel of Fates is probably my favourite duel from an acrobatic point of view, plus the score...wow the score!! I still get goosebumps during Luke's trench run. Vader's "I have you now" with the excellent music and then suddenly BOOM: "You're all clear kid! Now let's blow this thing and go home!" Seriously...I just got goosebumps typing that.
  18. Definitely limits it to a 9.9/10
  19. MK2 had him too. I think you had to win something like 50 consecutive rounds to get him. I know he is in MK2 because I fought him, and have never played MK3. I can't seem to find any variance information. My stats courses were probably a bit different than yours too (depending on when you took them). Mine were CompSci stats courses, so we were more concerned with probabilities, rather than just aggregate statistics. Maybe yours were like that too? They were quite a bit different than the stats courses than the ones taken by most people I know.
  20. Cunning smart, with surfer music following it around? (and golden??)
  21. Probably you didn't take statistics classes, or just being humorous BTW, If you didn't take stats classes, DON'T <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually I have taken stats courses. Applied Probablity and Applied Statistics (two fun calculus based courses......actually they weren't too bad). I was just being obtuse. Though my statement technically is not false "
  22. Ugh....I hated Mileena. Forward, Forward, Low Kick = dumbest special move ever.
