I'm sure there've been other attacks in the 24 Universe. We just care about CTU LA though

I didn't realize the first season was before 9/11. But I guess it is. I saw it right when season 3 was starting.
  3. Pffft, any self respecting tank commander knows about the angles. Sloped Armor for the win!
  4. I never said that RAID 5+0 was a common solution either. I did mention that it was used to help improve transfer rates. My point stemmed from RAID 5 not being nearly as uncommon as you think it is. And certainly not as useless. Besides, if you actually read the article you linked to, it's not RAID 5+0, but more like RAID 03. It's not recommended because it's very expensive. RAID 4 isn't recommended because there are other formats (i.e. RAID 5) that are superior to it in every way. Though we were never discussing what works for you, but the overall usefulness of the RAID 5 architecture. Though if you weren't doing a lot of write transactions, most people would actually recommend RAID 5.
  5. No dedicated servers for Guild Wars? What exactly are we running on while playing the game then?
  6. That wasn't the point I was addressing. I was talking about your claim that it is as irritating as a leaky tap. Are you referring to the Mythbusters experiment?

I miss the Palmer. One of my favourite characters, and the only person that could compete with the running "badass" totals that Jack acquires at a prolific rate. Sure do like him better than Logan. I forsee a resignation in his near future. It seems he's finally realizing he's not that great at leading the country in a crisis. I gave him the benefit of the doubt in the previous season, as he was tossed into it.
  8. That had more to be with being strapped down than the actual drips. If it's just dripping water, then it's about as irritating as a leaky tap. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If it's the Chinese torture I'm thinking of, it's quite a bit more than just being as irritating as a leaky tap. Most people don't lay beneath the leaky tap and let the water drip on to their forehead for extended periods of time.

I agree! I was very saddened. I was also thinking of reviving the thread myself
  10. I think this argument is as silly as the "Diablo isn't an RPG" arguments. Mostly to the point of 'Who cares?"

He still wasn't invisible. He was creating plays out there. I never much liked the shot count anyways, because if a guy hits 20 posts, it would give the impression that he wasn't even shooting the puck. He was also the third assist on the Smyth Goal. He made the nice cycle to get it to Hemsky, who fired the quick pass to Spacek for the one timer that Smyth deflected. He did some nice skating to create room, had the defense commit, passed back to Hemsky and the rest is history. It gave Spacek a nice line to the net with Smyth alone in front to deflect it.
  12. They actually haven't really had many expansions for their games at all. Well, they do tend to have one. So I guess that is quite a few, considering many games don't get expansions.
  13. I would imagine a few days worth of it and it'd be pretty farking annoying.

Samsonov was only invisible on the stats sheet. You can't expect a guy to put up a point every single game. It looked like they were trying him with Stoll and Torres, with Torres on the right hand side.
  15. ... Please tell me you meant it as a joke  <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope. It is popular. http://www.acnc.com/04_01_05.html You'll notice RAID 4 is the only one with no recommended implementations.

Oilers hang on for the W. Nice game by the Rolonator.
  17. I love the crusaders that pirate to make a statement. Sticking it to the big guy!
  18. RAID 5 is actually popular in businesses. Many implement RAID 5+0 to negate the performance penalty. Besides, RAID 4 would certainly be more "unusable" than RAID 5 (if you're talking about the only unusable one). It provides nothing that RAID 5 doesn't provide, but RAID 5 provides it faster.
  19. I installed the Naval Beta for the Historical Stony Road mod for Hearts of Iron II. Plenty of cool Naval events! Perhaps I'll tell Raeder to go jump off a bridge and go with the U-Boat fleet from the get go :D
  20. For better or worse, Blizzard hasn't seemed to be milking the expansion craze. The one expansion they have in the works is still quite a ways away.
  21. I was under the impression that the ME franchise trilogy was being created all at once, like one big game delivered in three parts. (Hey, maybe that is a way for studios to deal with the increased cost of production: multi-generational games ... hmmm ... ) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am sure they have ideas for the future games, but they're no way as ironed out as the first game at this point. It'd also be risky, because ME might turn out to be a big bust. No sense making a sequel to a game that doesn't sell.
  22. It's not. You'd be surprised how many people have no idea how to crack a game. Many of them that might be adventurous enough to do so are paranoid that they'll get a virus. Given that CD burning software is exceptionally pervasive now, the ability to click "Copy CD to CD" is just as common. People are becoming more technically savvy, thanks in large part to the file sharing exposure people are getting with the online music distribution, so the NoCD crack phase will increase. A base my assessment on the 6 or so years I worked in sales and service, in addition to conversations with my Dad (who runs his own computer store) as well as friends that do work in sales and service. It's not the most empirical, but I certainly feel it's more representative than most of the conversations I have with my friends who are computer savvy. I agree. I never really stated otherwise.
