As a not so funny aside, the only person I know personally that has had struggles with the game is my roommate, who pirated the game. Not that legit people aren't having issues, but it did remind me of the pirated copy of the Half-Life expansion, Opposing Forces, that had issues with the game that were actually found to be limited to only the pirated version. It was hilarious watching people bitch out Gearbox/Valve for the problems, only to eat their words and stumble saying that they did have legit copies and all that.

I believe that is what the description of Cold Iron says as well. Though I haven't actually experienced any of it. Meh, then I blame the AI. I preferred Qara to Sand, and given that she's a sorcerer, it's very easy to make use of the metamagic feats. She was responsible for a large number of my kills. She killed the three dragons I fought, and had acquired the "Dragonslayer" ability.

There is some uses from Cold Iron I believe, but for the most part, it's not much better than Iron. I made a sword out of Silver, and then buffed the crap out of it. I did make that full plate out of Mithril though, for obvious reasons

Considering they state straight up during character creation that it doesn't really have an effect on the game, I'm not too surprised.

The only experience I have about them is from PST, and Dak'kon made it seem like "knowing" was something his race valued extensively.

I imagine it does. You get an update of the abilities the soldiers have, such as their resistance to slashing and stuff like that. I'm curious what will happen if you leave the keep unattached. Do you get a really hard fight in the courtyard, or do you just skip everything and go right to it, with no really difference?

Oh I'm sure it is. I highly doubt they'd make the game unwinnable because you didn't fix up the keep.

It's not like it matters. It seems like it is still possible to fully upgrade them. And even with my completely non-upgraded guys, I still whooped-ass in the siege.

Okay, well do that then. But my statement still stands I guess they're probably more effective patrollers with the uber-gear though.

I'm pretty sure you're screwed, because some of the ore is in areas from Act 1. In any case, it doesn't really matter. I did it all without any weapon upgrades myself.

Personally I think the Drow are overrated, and way way way overrepresented.

They don't look that difficult. Admittedly, I haven't looked too much though. Just about a half of an hour or so, when I found out that you could examine the .2DA files in the toolset directly. I do plan on having custom feats though, and have them similar to the History Feats you get all through the OC. Except I'm going to add a bit more flavour to them, and maybe have them affect your abilities in some way as well. So I'll get back to you on that. I plan on looking into them a bit more this weekend.

You need to find the ore. I'm not sure, but I think you need to talk to the dude at Old Owl Keep or whatever, and he'll let you know about finding ore, because my first playthrough I only found ONE ore, but on my second, I found tons of ore before I even had Crossroad Keep.
