That's odd... I'm finding lightsabers everywere... but I have KotOR II for PC, and use mods... (but I didn't add any saber mods...) Mirax <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It seems to be kinda random. Some games I have lightsabers coming out of my ears, sometimes I can't find enough of the stupid things.

Odd observation about Czerka Corporation
Benfea replied to Benfea's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I guess this brings up the next question: is Czerka Corporation a subtle dig at the Star Trek universe? Next question after that: why did they call it Czerka? Czerka is a real name. Was one of the writers at Bioware trying to get back at a high school bully or something? Is it an allusion to some obscure historical figure? -
Complaint: grey characters not grey enough.
Benfea replied to Benfea's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You're making this far more complicated than it needs to be. The simple fact is that if you consider "alignment" to be a moral measurement, then making Jolee neutral was an error. I suspect that the real reason Jolee is given the neutral alignment is for reasons of game mechanics: so that you could have a party member that received neither bonuses nor penalties for any force power. -
I'm just curious. I've yet to play a female character. Is it just because he has an annoying personality? Or is the character poor in combat or something?
-
Nah. I usually catch them on the surface of Telos. Then I can go back to the TSF without lying.

If you view the alignment as a meter for political faction, then yeah, Jolee is neutral. He left the Jedi order because -- of all things -- he was mad at them for forgiving him when he couldn't forgive himself. However if you view alignment as a guage of morality, the Jolee is unequivocably not neutral. He does any number of things in the name of good (e.g. he tags along to keep tabs on Revan, which is why you have to kill him if you turn to the dark side), but I can't think of a single thing Jolee does that I could call evil. A good example is Jolee's reaction to Sunry's act of murder. Although Jolee ultimately bites his lip and keeps his mouth shut in front of the authorities, behind closed doors he takes Sunry to task for the manner in which he killed that Sith. Even if the person Sunry killed was evil, the manner in which he did so was clearly wrong and Jolee says so. A morally neutral or evil character would not have had compunctions about using evil means to remove an evil person. -
Oh, I'm an idiot. I was thinking of another encounter entirely.

I believe that what happens depends on whether you go the dark side or light side ending. If the latter, then the little guy wins out (with help from the droids from the robot factory that never made it into the game) and Malachor V is destroyed; otherwise, the little guy is destroyed and Malachor V remains intact.

I love the Guardian-Weaponmaster. Everything except bosses dies in one hit.
-
I also voted for Revan. He was a better hero and villain. Nihilus was poorly fleshed out and was at best a bit character in the story.
-
We've made it through eight pages and only one mention of Wookiees? For shame! Rawr! The Wookiees had to be my favorite part of KotOR 1.
-
Yeah, that always bugged me too. Maybe the hammerheads are a newer craft that came out after Revan fell to the dark side?
-
Alright, someone fixed the typo in the subject, so I might as well seriously answer the original question. In KotOR 1, I preferred playing a Scout-Guardian. That way you sorta got the best of both worlds in terms of skills and combat capabilities. This time around, I'm going straight combat and generally play a Guardian-Weapon Master. Judging from how popular Sentinels appear to be, I may have to give that one a try.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. Since I usually skip the movies, I'll pass on the big downloads. What about the music patches? What do they do?
-
I've never had a problem with the movies nor the music. Exactly what issues do the media patches resolve? I looked at the readme files, and they only give instructions on how to install the patches, but no indication of what the heck the patches are for. http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_kotor2_downloads.html Someone wanna clue me in?

My favorite jedi race is human. Of course, we don't get a choice in that. You can't make a jedi character that's not human.

Odd observation about Czerka Corporation
Benfea replied to Benfea's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's a little different, but the black and gold top combined with black pants in what looks like a tight-fitting jumpsuit definitely reminds me of the uniforms on TNG. Here's a pic. The Czerka Corp. employee is on the left. http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Articles/S...2_bar_large.jpg -

I said uniforms, not policies. Yeesh. -
Too powerful to start a game with and expect anything to be balanced.
-
Either they won't be playable, or something bad will have happened to weaken them. You know how CRPGs go.

Well found a use for Deciplie
Benfea replied to shadowriath's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Is he really that lame? I've been considering making a female character just to check him out. Meh. The one thing that's been stopping me is that you get the Handmaiden at the end of Telos, while the Disciple doesn't come until later (I usually hit Dantooine near the end). -
After talking with G0T0 and getting back story
Benfea replied to shadowriath's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Personally, I always thought G0-T0 should start out somewhere between evil and neutral, probably closer to neutral. -
Teaching the way's of the force.

Uhm... wouldn't Atton be the most non-traditional? Look at Mira's background. She may be a bounty hunter, but she's always conducted herself very morally. Atton, on the other hand, used to be a Sith goon. He hunted, captured, and tortured (sometimes to death) many Jedi. -
Has anyone else noticed that their uniforms look suspiciously like Star Trek uniforms?
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last Jedi he killed seemed to have touched him deeply. It was why he left the Sith, remember? I have no problem with bringing Atton along as a Sith. However, I have discovered that if you convert all possible NPCs to Jedi, then a certain encounter in a certain Sith cave on Korriban becomes rather tough.
