Good luck getting this fixed. Obsidian is never going to release another patch, so unless it can be fixed with a driver update, you're hosed.

I've never tried such a thing, but I have to imagine that it would not work. Not only would allowing it wreck the story in KotOR 2, but the savegame files store very different information (e.g. different NPCs with different dialog trees and dialog tree states, not to mention the inclusion of NPC Influence data).

Just run away. That way, you separate Treya from her lightsabers so you don't have to face them all at the same time. If you start getting beat up again, just run away to one of the upper "Y" branches. You can get far enough away so that you can heal and buff up at your leisure before taking on the lightsabers again. Once the sabers are gone, Traya is cake.

ALWAYS save the game before entering Telos Academy because this bug hits often. Save just before you enter, and if you get the bug, go back to your save and try again. It may take several tries before you get through without the bug. Or you could give this mod a try, although you will still have to restore from an older (pre-Academy) save game. The readme for the mod does include instructions if you don't have an old save game or don't want to backtrack, but it involves using a character editor.

I like the EZ Swoop Mod because I'm lazy and because I have the reflexes of an alcoholic octogenarian. I'm going to give the Telos Academy Bug Fix a try next time I install and play this game (which should be very soon). I look forward to it, as that bug seems to get me every time I play!

Why all the love for Bastilla? She's arrogant, annoying, flighty and corrupt. No amount of physical hotness makes up for that. I certainly can't vote for Visas nor the Handmaiden. Both are entirely too demure and submissive. Girls like that tend to turn into howling banshees once the relationship gets serious. *shudder* No thanks. I guess that leaves Mira even though she has the personality of a petulant 14 year old. Meh!

We all know stealth is not essential at any point of the game. Though its not about success of completion of the game, but rather exploring and enjoying all possible aspects of it. You increase persuade so you can enhance dialogue options. Using stealth with the right force powers, feats and skills can enhance the experience. But in fairness, its use is limited to the entrance of the tomb of Freedon Nadd, even for that part of the game, you send your 2nd wave with maybe one good character. At which point you can stealth up your lesser characters who should still be at initial levels...so there is a big enough window to enjoy it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's true, but you still don't have to pump up stealth on your main character, and what we're talking about here is skills on the main character (sorry, I should have been more clear on that). Of course, you can use your NPCs to cover any skill you lack, except for certain solo missions where exotic skills really don't matter much. Stealth falls under this as well. Yes, stealth lets you do things, but you can do them with an NPC. The primary reason to put points into stealth is if you have a Sentinel-type character and want to get the most out of your Sneak Attack (which does really nice damage).

Or have some fun before the entrance to the tomb of Freedon Nadd , recovering all those wonderful mines they left for you and...adjusting their position... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uhm... we're talking about reasons to have Demolitions on your main character, which will never see the inside or outside of that tomb. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually he was referring to a good spot to have stealth. And that is a hell of a spot to have it, yes. Also a good spot for demo is in the bar in the entertainment promenade, (why fight the little twits when you can blow them up?) and to mine the walkways to the doors on either side of the main chamber door in the Dxun Tomb. (Yes, on a NPC, but still it's fun watching the ambushers become Ambushees.) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eh. I'll let it drop. I don't want this thread to get closed.

After talking with G0T0 and getting back story
Benfea replied to shadowriath's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
dont you mean ghengis khan? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I assume that English isn't his first language. Genghis Khan didn't use the Latin alphabet and probably didn't even know that alphabet existed. Thus there is no "proper" spelling when using Latin letters, and every European country spells it in whatever way produces the closest phoenetic spelling for their language. "Genghis Khan" was a title anyway. His actual name was "Temujin." -
Am I the only one who avoids using driods?
Benfea replied to Benfea's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I usually do, but not always. Sometimes I fail to turn this or that character into jedi. -
It is if you play a Sentinel and want to take advantage of Sneak Attack.

I tend to prefer two jedi + a character designated for skills. -
Yavin's moon is a major Darkside location from the EU if I remember right (Exar Kun?).

Eh, I dunno. Demolitions is something I usually have on my NPCs rather than my main character. Other than blowing up droids on Peragus, there's not really much reason to have Demolitions trained up on your main character. If there are other compelling reasons (e.g. new dialog options, etc.), please let me know.

Ah well. At least we got to see Kashyyk in KotOR1. That is far and away my favorite planet in the KotOR series.
-
Eh, if they cut out, say, Dantooine to make room for Alderaan, I wouldn't have missed it.

I finally got around to trying out a Sentinel/Watchman, and I just love the extra skill points. The only thing is, I seem to have put more points into some skills than are really necessary when I could have built up a few more skills. I worked primarily on Treat Injury, and chose Awareness, Persuade, and Computer as secondary skills. My secondary skills are all above 20 and that's where I think I'm wasting points. For instance, around 10 Awareness seems to be enough for the purposes of finding mines, although I'm not sure if it's enough for certain dialog options. I imagine that 15-20 in Persuade would be more than enough to get through the game. How about Computer? How much skill is the minimum needed to upgrade T3-M4? If I put my extra skill points into Repair, how many points do I need in Repair to do the other upgrades in T3? Having a Computer skill has proved quite useful as it has opened a number of extra dialog options that really made the game easier. One interesting observation: I find that one point in Demolitions makes Peragus less annoying. With that, you can blow up the droids after you reprogram them and strip them of parts. That way they're not wandering around getting under foot and you don't have to worry about keeping track of which ones you stripped for parts and which not. What are your experiences? What are your thoughts?

Efficiency is irrelevant. I didn't see you acquire a definitive answer any sooner.

One place in which both KotOR1 and KotOR2 dropped the ball was in not including Alderaan as a playable region. In the original trilogy, Alderaan is destroyed and in the prequel trilogy we only see brief glimpses of Alderaan. Given that both KotOR games are set in the distant past, there was a great opportunity to give fans a taste of Alderaan, and that opportunity was passed up.

Wikipedia to the rescue once again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endar_Spire#Endar_Spire It turns out that the "hammerheads" are basically some kind of transport ship that had turbolasers grafted onto it and pressed into service.

OK, I finally gave a Sentinel-Watchman a try. It's really cool having all those extra skill points to throw around, but I'm thinking of trying to mix classes next time (Sentinel-Weapons Master) just for variety's sake.

Why does everyone hate the Disciple?
Benfea replied to Benfea's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Meh. His battlecries can't possibly be as annoying as Bastilla and the Cathar in KotOR1. -
Odd observation about Czerka Corporation

Dunno, but when I went looking for pics one time, some guy's portrait came up.
