  1. I'm just going to assume you meant "within 5 minutes of getting to Klamath in Fallout 2." I simply cannot believe that anybody has ever had any measurable amount of fun playing through the Temple of Trials. Right you are.
  2. Finished Fallout 1, it was better than I remembered. Though the bad rep it got was due to bugs IIRC, so I guess it only natural it's better now with all the official and unofficial fixes. Now playing Fallout 2. For a moment after finishing the first Fallout I had a feeling "this is even better than F2" but within 5 minutes of playing Fallout 2 the feeling quickly dissipated.
  3. Finished The Witcher 2. I have a bit of mixed feelings about the game now that I've gone through it. My review of the game: Now I'm playing Fallout 1, bought it from GOG and works like a charm even on Win7x64.
  4. Finished another playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins, this time with Female Elf Rogue. I did kinda miss the fast paced action of Dragon Age 2 but at least there wasn't the god awful spawning monsters. Now playing The Witcher 2, which to my surprise is quite enjoyable. I did not have my hopes high after trying the original Witcher twice, and quitting both times within 10 minutes due to the horrid controls and combat.
  5. That's what you get when you live in a frakking 3rd world country. Any decent modern society has job security to the point where firing someone for not working overtime would render them liable to pay compensation due to illegal termination of employment. If you happen to live in a such country and are tired of taking it up the arse then get organized, that's exactly what unions are for.
  6. That's not a matter of opinion. You either show the numbers that say so or you're just trolling.
  7. Avadon: The Black Fortress
  8. During the bus ride from my workplace to home I eavesdropped on a conversation some girl was having, rather loudly, with her friend on the phone. She kept going on and on about how to gather enough mounts in WoW to get the 100 mount achievement. I couldn't believe how enthusiastic she was about such menial and boring task. It must have sounded absolutely mental to anyone who's not familiar with WoW due to the amount of WoW specific lingo she used, while mixing finnish and english together into sentences that even I had hard time keeping track. Then I thought, was I as obnoxious few years ago when I still played WoW, and talked about it in public places with my friends. I hope not.
  9. Finnish coaches at the World Hockey Cup congratulating them selfs over a job well done: Fancy moves. I'm moving to Norway.
  10. Isn't that a lot worse though (see the bolded part) ?Most of the websites only offer same 5-6 questions that every other website also do. And I bet it's a lot more common for users to share the same answer between different sites than it is to share same password. Or do you have a habbit of making up a different name every time you fill in the "What's your mothers maiden name?" ?
  11. I read that line and instantly went on GOG to purchase BG2 as well. I had the original multi-CD version with clothmap et all, but I've managed to lost it.
  12. Few older games have given some head ache, but most of them have a solution if you just Google for it. Diablo 1 was the worst IIRC, you had to end the Explorer process manually before it worked properly. It's really hard to pinpoint if some the problems are due to Win7 or newer hardware.
  13. Gave up Gothic 2 near the end, had the dragons to kill but I just didn't like the fight mechanic. :shakefist @ knockback+regeneration: Now giving Arcania: Gothic 4 another go. Last time finished with a mage, trying melee this time.
  14. I just threw up in my mouth. Yeah, it'll feature a F2P scheme where you, the non-paying player, have a wooden pointy stick you can use to kill vampires, while the paying customer will have a minigun with silver bullets. That's how all F2P games work, you're utterly screwed unless you pay for the extra tidbits. I just don't understand the fascination towards F2P, unless you're a kid living with your parents (ie. no income).
  15. Worst character ever. [/COMICBOOKGUY]
  16. Finished Portal 2 single player story. Steam says I clocked in 9h of game time, with plenty of sight seeing, kinda low for a full priced game. Here's few screenshots if anyone is interested (just scenery, no puzzles): http://steamcommunity.com/id/trulez/screenshots/
  17. Had to put Gothic 2 on hold now that Portal 2 has been released. I have been playing few hours now, mostly just trying to look for a clever place to put a portal in that the devs might have overlooked (no luck yet).
  18. I don't like game settings that detract from established norms by portraying them in a silly way. I like my Tolkien very much and any other type of orc is an abomination, specially a silly one with a bolter gun for a weapon and a speech pattern that makes my ears/eyes bleed. If WH40K had only Chaos & Human characters I would actually like it.
  19. No. Worst game setting since the birth of games.
  20. Portal 2 has been released by pirate groups today. Here's hoping the official release is today!
  21. The thread starter assumes there's something wrong with the established image of women in games. I'm protesting that notion, he's wrong. There are different tastes of course, but the beauty norms of modern age do cater to majority, thus it's inevitable we'll see the exaggerated version of those norms in games, as game studios want to make their characters even more appealing to larger audience. Given a choice between: a) aesthetically pleasing but impractical form b) practical but aesthetically bland form(note: not ugly) I'd choose A everytime. Form over function. This works extremely well in games because actions and movement in game world is not restricted by the same laws of physics real world is.
  22. Oh, I miss interpreted the meaning then. My bad. I guess when you say "PC games being released" you really only mean AAA titles, not PC games as a whole ?There's zounds of PC games being released every year from smaller studios, none of which will ever see console port, and some of those are quite enjoyable.
  23. Finished Alpha Protocol. The last mission was really miserable and I had alot of problems dealing with it. I had all my points in Stealth & Sabotage and few points in Pistol, not good when you can't sneak kill the bosses. Portal 2 pre-loaded and waiting for release, it received 200mb patch yesterday. While I'm waiting for that I'm playing some more Sims Medieval.
  24. I'm not experiencing this issue, maybe your hardware just wasn't up to the task ?I do agree with people who said the color scheme for AP isn't all that great, but other than that it looks fine (read: not great, but not bad).
