I remember it was the ONLY problem DA2 had when I played it through, thrice.

This forums seems like a friendly place to have an open discussion about issues regarding piracy.

Dungeon Defenders Bought the 4-pack from Steam sale and have played few hours with my friend. It's a nice tower defense game with some "Diabloish" elements (you grind same levels for a chance to get better loot & experience points). And just like the first Diablo the online community is filled with hacked characters and items, which is a shame because if you can't find time to play with your friends you pretty much have to solo the game.

South Park RPG
trulez replied to vault_overseer's topic in South Park: The Stick of Truth: General Discussion
If you look at the picture from the article (the reflection in the water) more closely, it looks like the kids will find themselves in a kind of "fantasy land" and would be a story about that, is my best guess. Which would work perfectly. So it's a generic adventure game with South Park characters, got it. I really love the show, and Obsidians games have not been bad either, so if it could work I'd probably buy it, but this one puzzles me. South Park is all about comedy, and spesifically comedy about current events. RPG's are about a freedom of choice and delivering compelling story. To make comedy work you need to have control over timing and delivery, funny lines are not funny if they're out of place. To make RPG work the player needs to be able to (at some degree) chooce the way the story unfolds. Putting those two together does not compute. Take for example one of my all time favourite episdoes, Whale Whores: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ5_f3vO5EQ How on earth could you accomplish anything remotely close to that in a RPG, the characters are just by standers and the comedy happens DESPITE of them. -
South Park RPG
trulez replied to vault_overseer's topic in South Park: The Stick of Truth: General Discussion
I don't see how this can even work. South Park is only South Park because it takes current events, something that's hot right now, and makes fun of that. With the game, the events could be 1-2 year old, last years news, boooring. -
Played some SW:TOR Beta during the weekend. It was everything I expected and more, no regrets pre-ordering the CE. Still playing World of Tanks until TOR gets released. Got my Tier 7 TD and soon Tier 7 Heavy. Premium time is running out so I better make the most of it. Oh, and I found a neat mod that disables the annoying attention sound from minimap pings, silence is golden.

Ubisoft and their "clever" DRM scehems are cancer to the game industry. Cut them out, and leave them to rot.

Lol he is mentioning region-locking as a bad strategy :D Funny to read this from a person behind STEAM :D Haven't experienced any region blocking. Would you mind giving an example of this ?

Where can I buy new copy of KOTOR2 these days ? Want one unopened so most of the used sales options are not really an option.

Skyrim looks pretty but still far away from realistic.

Download limits, so 1990s, but that's what you get when you live in a 3rd world country. I'm going to try out Trooper because it's the most interesting class and NOT available for Empire (which sucks). My main at launch will most likely be Sith Sorc healer. I hope I get the full weekend to test, accepted invitation early Monday and had it installed during the evening. Download rates went up and down but were somewhere between 4-6MBit/s the whole time.

Yes, the choice between panda monks and lightsaber wielding jedi is a tough one. Oh wait, it's not.

Anyone still remember this: http://i53.tinypic.com/18f8gj.png Where are the jokes now ?

It's been confirmed that the early access starts 5 days prior to launch. http://www.swtor.com/news/news-article/20111104-0

UBISoft already has their even ****tier version called uPlay.

World of Tanks Seems like a nice little PVP MMO with enough but not too much grinding to acquire all the vehicles and their upgrades. Can't wait to see how strategic the organized play at the top level is.

Translation: I don't know how to ask for a source or google things myself, so I'll just be an internet smartass. 70% of WoW players drop out. 70% of new WoW players don't get past level 10 And you fail to read your sources before spouting inaccurate generalizations on the internet. Emphasis mine: Those are not paying customers, they have not subscribed to the initial 30 days unlike paying customers who bought the boxed game. The trial accounts are notorious for their abuse among gold sellers, trial accounts are used extensively to spam gold selling services and no where in that article does it say they trimmed those numbers out. There is no limit to the number of trial accounts one person can have, and the spammers have them by the zounds, all under level 10. If your local grocery offers free samples of the latest snack and 30% of the customers who tasted the sample bought the product that would be considered a success. Still, there's no harm in trying to improve that number, and that's what Mike Morhaime was saying.

Is this like the game we played during chilhood where you would keep your middlefinger in front of my face and ask me not to look at if it bothers me ? I'm sure if you post pictures of your games to a public forum you're going to get opinions about them. It's not like there's a "skip the ****ty ones" button I could use to avoid them.

Major difference of course being those are CHARACTERS while the claim was that only 70% of PLAYERS reach max level. There are many times more characters in WoW servers than there are players, I used to have 7 of which only 1 was at max level because I found the leveling process to be so god damn boring. There really is no relevant data to be gained by studying the number of characters that reach max level, well at best it could indicate your leveling process is too long. But it would be really significant to find out the actual number of players who don't reach max level. Blizzard of course has that data available, the public does not.

Yep. I read they upgraded the graphics at one point, but that was the firs time I heard about that. Looks horrible.

70% of World of Warcraft player never make it to level 10. Only a minority of players ever make it to end-game, but those are the players who are most likely to spend years with your game. 80% of all statistics on the internet are made up on the spot.

I loved AP. Far more than DA2. Some infuriating bugs in AP though, more bugs in AP than DA2, or at least bugs that make you want to hurl the game out the window at times. I love oranges, far more than apples.

I disagree. It's certainly not all it could be, but considering the staggering amount of work already done on SWTOR as a whole I think it's the best case scenario without pushing the game back another year or two. I'm fairly confident we'll get improved version with either patch or expansion.

It's not. Steaming pile of ****. I had such high hopes when I heard HoMM VI was in development but it turned out to be worse than the previous incarnation.

The NDA applies only to testers. The rest of us can talk about it all day long. My favourite sites: http://www.alterswtor.com/ http://betafootage.com/
