  1. I suspect that if you copied the Steam files into another folder and used the DRM-free .exe from the disc version you might be able to get mods working (I had to do something similar for Bloodlines and a couple of other games). And it's easier to have a backed up .exe in case the discs fail or get lost than the entire game... Although not by much given how cheap storage is now.
  2. Well, possibly. I couldn't find a reliable source on this. I saw it on Kotaku although I'm not sure what their source is.
  3. And I'm sure you know everything there is to know about war and that 'meat grinder'...
  4. Would you send your wife to war while you stayed home with the kids? I wouldn't send anyone ideally, as I oppose the draft, but it her number came up and mine didn't that's what would happen (although, in my case, my partner has a heart condition that would likely exempt her from service so it's most likely completely hypothetical).
  5. A question for WoD - why is it a man's duty to fight and die while the woman stay aside from antiqued gender roles? Why it it better for a child to lose a father, or fathers because gay couples having kids is a thing, than to loose a mother or mothers? Why shouldn't woman fight besides sexist drivel? Oh, wait, it's because you're clinging to that drivel for dear life.
  6. ya got an important issue, pony up, pardner. I wish I could influence the national discussion but I'm just a random guy on a random website Who gives away free games to, the horror, people who haven't earned them by the sweat of their brow! Communist! You seek to use your vile whiles undetermine the capitalist game distribution systems and bring games to the masses! You're a monster! A red menace! And I cannot keep a straight face typing this any longer so I'll stop there.
  7. Personally I find book burning more abhorrent than flag burning, and, even though I don't think either should be illegal, would feel stronger about someone burning a copy of The Constitution than the flag. But maybe that's just me.
  8. Didn't you say something similar about Tagès? Things like Microsoft dropping support for SafeDisc and SecuROM is one reason that DRM continues to be a problem for ligament users years after the fact. While Denuvo might seem great now there is a real risk that it will cause issues in the future and, ultimately, I hope that games that use it patch it out at some point (I've bought games that use it, I know Doom does and I have that, but I'm still worried about the future and how it might cause issues). That's one reason I also prefer GoG to Steam - if GoG dies I can still install games from my backed-up installers, if Steam goes down there isn't that option.
  9. So? Different paths will take you different places. Personally I think that If you want to see everything then you should play the game again (or revert back to an old save and make different choices). I still don't see why you should be able to see everything in one go.
  10. It's truly tragic and heinous what happened to her, and forgive me for seeming unsensitive but why is he labeled a neonazi and white supremacist? What labels as "source" material for this since they don't have any media and examples of him being one except for a stash of materials they don't tell us what, just label as neonazi material? Sorry, due to our media here, it looks like this heinous tragedy was done by someone very passionate about politics and took it to far and almost seems like the media is using a narrative to label this scum bag as something they can use as an example of "brexit racists". If that's what he had in his house, then it's not too much of a leap to assume he was a nazi. Certainly beyond reasonable doubt. And the next line is: I think it's fair to say this guy was, in all likelihood, a neo-Nazi.
  11. Single player games don't have to be perfectly balanced (and wouldn't be as interesting if they were). There's nothing wrong with different choices resulting in different amounts of XP as long as the game is playable. Bloodlines comes to mind as an example of this as you could get significantly more experience with some builds than others but all of them were enjoyable despite that. I don't think all choices should be made equal and the game homogenized.
  12. His account is set to 'inactive' so I suspect he is locked out of it, that said I'm disappointed on how he's behaving and the amount of drama he's generating. Hopefully things will get better in time but as things stand I doubt that will happen anytime soon.
  13. Do you have a general sense of how much you're willing to spend?
  14. Fixed that for you. I see you're still accusing people of being pirates without any provocation or evidence. Some things never change...
  15. Do you know if they ever got cross-platform pay working? If so I'll gladly join you for a game or three (otherwise I'll not be able to given that I only have it on the PC and don't intend to get a PS4).
  16. Any idea what they were looking for? My first guess was drugs but that might be completely off.
  17. Holy crap! Things were eventually resolved without injury after a six hour standoff (we're still not sure about all the details but it sounds like the suspect let the hostages go but stayed holed up and the police later deployed teargas before entering and subduing him - apparently it might have been a robbery gone wrong considering that he's being changed with grand larceny, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, brandishing a firearm, and assault and battery among other things and additional charges are pending). Here's some of the more interesting pictures that are floating around the internet:
  18. There is an ongoing hostage situation involving an armed gunman in the same place my girlfriend lives (luckily she's alright and not involved aside from not being able to go back home until things are safe).
  19. If I didn't already know how you voted last week I would now! Not Trump? I'm not sure what gave that away... Although I've been giving to all of them for awhile (well predating this election cycle).
  20. I give to Planned Parenthood, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, The Southern Poverty Law Center, and the American Civil Liberties Union. Also the local Library, they were rasing funds for a new building, and the local Free Clinic among other things. I also semi-regularly donate to GoFundMe campaigns anything that's usually only if I know the person or know someone who knows the person.
  21. Obola's IRS encourages illegal aliens to file tax returns with stolen Social Security numbers and claim billions in tax credits.Edit: As a citizen of course I am expected to follow all the rules and pay all my taxes, and if I don't the feds will come down on me like a ton of bricks. Ironically that might be a net-gain. "Stephen Goss, the chief actuary of the Social Security Administration, estimates that about 1.8 million immigrants were working with fake or stolen Social Security cards in 2010, and he expects that number to reach 3.4 million by 2040. He calculates that undocumented immigrants paid $13 billion into the retirement trust fund that year, and only got about $1 billion in benefits. “We estimate that earnings by unauthorized immigrants result in a net positive effect on Social Security financial status generally, and that this effect contributed roughly $12 billion to the cash flow of the program for 2010,” Gross concluded in a 2013 review of the impact of undocumented immigrants on Social Security." http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2016/09/undocumented-immigrants-and-taxes/499604/
