  1. You'd be better off with a Nexus 7 or the like.
  2. Be glad that you've never heard of a LARP called Strange Aeons - their 'rules' make even the worst look good by comparison. EDIT: I added a link so people know what to avoid, and no, even though they say they're based on White Wolf, they could not be further from Mind's Eye Theater (having bastardized the rules beyond recognition).
  3. If you've not tried them, The Witcher and The Witcher II sound like games you'd like.
  4. Honestly, I'd disagree - exploits and 'tricks' are always going to be there and it's up to the GM to fix those if he/she wishes, or simply find a group of players who don't want to powergame. But, again, while I'm not the biggest fan of D&D, and I have considerably more experience with other game systems. Honestly, I like games where it's rather hard to heal and healing surges are more along the lines of what exist in the systems I tend to play (e.g. having to spend blood to heal lethal in Vampire: The Masquerade or having to use magic spells, or regular old time and medicine if you've not got any, in The Laundry). Unforgiving games can be fun, and I actually like situations where I might very well die at any moment.
  5. I'd rather not have voiced NPCs.
  6. Unless the player had made sure to have a bandoleer of them slung across their chest for easy access.
  7. I wouldn't mind a regular, ordinary adventurer who hasn't been chosen to save the world or is in the possession of magics that are not the norm.
  8. I did not know that, suddenly I'm much more likely to buy it both on Android and for the PC.
  9. I wouldn't mind the occasional easter-egg band, but I'd have to agree with the above if the OP was wanting them in every tavern/town/etc.
  10. From what I've played of it, and that's not been alot mind you as I don't own it myself and only played when someone else was running, it's a fun system but not one that I'd choose for a game of a serious nature. It's almost a satire of itself, at least that's the impression I got from what I've seen/played/read.
  11. I wouldn't mind a Fallout/Fallout 2 styled turn-based system, although I know that I'm unlikely to get that.
  12. Given that the market they're trying to reach would likely buy both games, plus the fact that they're using involvement in Baldur's Gate and other classics as a selling point in the Kickstarter campaign, I wouldn't be worried about a conflict. If they made a good product they'd not only be making money from it but also expanding the number of people who would have played an Obsidian title and might want to find, if they've not already, other games by the same developer.
  13. Please, no. Or at least have that option be something you can toggle-off in the options (that would also work on any other immortal NPCs). I fail to see why the latter might not be the former. The children die and the world around the event reacts. I fail to see a problem here. I would rather there not be children than that they be included and made invincible (although my first choice is to have them and have them able to be killed, just like all the other NPCs in the game should be able to be killed - let's not have a 'failsafe' for people who decide to murder random persons and then find themselves locked out of the plot due to character death).
  14. ... A third Baldur's Gate game was already in the works and then got canned - see all of the posts above you. Yeah, and now Trent Oster of Beamdog/Overhaul has specifically said he wants to use the Enhanced Editions to build up to a pitch for BG3. Which would bear no resemblance to Black Hound. Honestly, I'd prefer if they farmed it out to Obsidian if they did decide to go with a third game. But maybe that's just me.
  15. I've never been a major fan of D&D, although some good old 2nd Ed. is always fun, and was looking more at White Wolf with the Print-on-Demand for both OWoD and NWoD as well as smaller published games that, while not huge, are doing well enough (e.g. The Laundry or CathuluTech). Honestly, I buy at least two-three books for every PC game I get, and considering I usually pick up at least one PC game a month that adds up (although it's gotten to the point that this might change as I've exhausted the stock of the local gaming stores, at least when it comes to things I want, and I tend to wait to order offline until I have fairly large order). EDIT: It's not all of them by any means, but here's an example of one of my gaming bookshelves.

  17. From what the review said, I would guess that it is an action-rpg in the same vein as Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Both are first-person and have a loose upgrade system as well as several different branches in the story.
  18. The Legend of Grimrock is on sale for 50% off! As for the number of games, I'm only at 39 myself and that's including the free ones. Although, given the sale that's going on, that might change tonight!
  19. I can live with that. It looks like they've already got it being released without a client, although it doesn't say if the installation file needs to 'phone home' or not. Hopefully it will be DRM-free.
  20. And the NWN2 mod is likely not going to be finished anytime soon, if it gets finished at all.
  21. I'm interested in how it will play on Android tablets as I have a Nexus 7 and wouldn't mind re-playing the game via that (it's alot easier to play on-the-go than a laptop). Otherwise, yeah, I would tend to agree with you. That said, I have a friend who's working on it and thus I'm going to get at least one version to help support her having a job.
  22. Spent most of the day in bed trying to read while the cat bounced around asking for attention.
