  1. Pub crawls always have a way of making a situation better, you seem like a good friend to your lady friends. That's an admirable quality What type of dancing do you do ? Thanks! And Smooth (mostly Waltz), Latin (mostly Rumba), East Coast Swing/Blues, West Coast Swing, Hustle, and Argentine Tango/Milonga. Lou and I mostly did West Coast and Hustle because she likes spinning though we've done a bit of everything at one point or another including her learning Argentine Tango for me while I learned Viennese Waltz and Quickstep for her. That had mixed success but the attempt was fun! I'll also miss people's reactions when we talked about her work in public, she studies gonorrhea and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and also the mutual horribleness to each other in board games and in both tabletop and PC RPGs - but that's why there's Skype and online multiplayer games!
  2. I'm just waking up after being up well through the night and into the morning saying goodbye to a very good friend, and my main dance partner, who is sadly moving away. Much drink was had and goodtimes, we did a pub crawl and then sat around and talked into the wee hours and got a little teary at her leaving, and she's safely on her way today.
  3. Met up with someone for drinks, it went well and hopefully will be repeated soon.
  4. Maybe it's just me but one of the main reason I'd want a 3d-printer is to make custom lego blocks.
  5. They actually removed the "do not automatically download and install updates" option awhile back...
  6. The great Firedorn Lightbringer DramabombTM.
  7. He's updated his Facebook profile to say that he's the former creative director, co-owner, and design guy at Obsidian Entertainment so I guess it's 'Facebook Official' now. On a more lighthearted note, he also posted this:
  8. this stop this liberal nonsense By that logic having two mothers must be much more better! Lesbian moms and mixed-sex bigamy for all! As long as there's a woman in there somewhere it's alright, right?
  9. Best of luck! I've had mixed success with that but it's worth trying out.
  10. I've not run into any of the new content in the Enhanced Editions yet, mostly because I've not played through them yet despite owning both on Steam and on GoG, but I'd likely buy a bridge game even if it wasn't great because I know one of their artists and have been friends with her for awhile.
  11. You must have a special edition of the game because I'm not seeing it... It could be a picture of Cassandra Pentaghast!
  12. I'm not seeing how she's ugly and, unless I'm missing something, she doesn't seem to be transgender - unless you're saying short hair is ugly and automatically makes a girl transgendered and if that's the case you're just wrong.
  13. I'm coming to terms with the fact that I might have messed up things and that only time will tell if we're going to get through this or not, I hope we do because I do really like her but if we need space and distance maybe that's best... Worst case we can try and be friends. Gah, this week has been awful and the next will likely be as well if not several, or perhaps many, more to come depending on what happens.
  14. Killing Floor 2 with Calax and some other forum, or at least SoDOFF, members.
  15. While I'm generally against wonton provocation I also don't think that religion should be a sacred cow and above critique or insult, it's wonderful that we don't have blasphemy laws and I'd hate to see that change.

  18. Isn't that the Cat's job?
  19. I do not believe in gender as a purely social construct. I don't have the time, or the energy, to get into a long discussion, but you're incorrect - there is, at a minimum, debate about equating biological sex and gender (this has predominantly happened within the sociological field, so if you're coming from a different background that could explain the disconnect). If you need a source, and there's plenty more where this comes from I just didn't feel like dragging out textbooks from boxes or doing a prolonged search of the internet this late at night, here's one that took all of three seconds to find: http://www.med.monash.edu.au/gendermed/sexandgender.html "Sex = male and female Gender = masculine and feminine So in essence: Sex refers to biological differences; chromosomes, hormonal profiles, internal and external sex organs. Gender describes the characteristics that a society or culture delineates as masculine or feminine." But, whatever, it's your life and you're free to be completely wrong (although ignoring fact, that gender and biological sex are, in fact, not considered the same by a number of fields of study, in favor of an unsupported opinion, that they are the same thing, is not, in my opinion, the best course of action).
  20. What style(s) do you do? I have two basic styles of dancing. --Ballroom (partner). --The basic 80's dork arm-swing dance that's on fine display in that Terminator bar scene. https://youtu.be/LTs8YnKfSsU?t=36s I only have the former (really, anything else will end in tears). Recently I've been focusing more on West Coast Swing more than anything else, with some Hustle thrown in for good measure, but still enjoy other forms as well (I'm not overly found of most smooth -although I do like Waltz-, prefer the slower Latin -e.g. Rumba-, and will always choose Argentine Tango or Milonga over American Tango any day). East Coast is also fun and so is Blues although there's not many opportunities to do that and I mostly end up doing ballroom at a few of the local studios/dances.
