It's not about being cheap, it's about being poor and setting your prioroties straight. If you have a choice between cable and World of Warcraft... I'm pretty sure most people would choose cable. When you are on a tight budget, some things have to go and MMO accounts are, well, not a priority

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

What are the system specs? EDIT: Never mind... -
Because he said ROCK was horrid. Not metal, not Hard Rock but ROCK. There is a confusing difference. Actually I'm just bugging you, I couldn't care less

The problem(for me) with adventure games is the severe lack of replayability. Why would I pay 50-60$ for something I can enjoy only once? The exception(so far, that I am aware of) is Indigo Prophecy.

By cancelling your account.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Turmion Katilot is awesome. I assume youve heard of them, being from Finland? I listen to another band called Ruoska as well, but they are nowhere near as good as TK. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Roshan u said rock was horrid on my page and yet here u are talking about finnish metal bands <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Metal is not rock.

What happened to all the good space sims??
astr0creep replied to Ginthaeriel's topic in Computer and Console
Was it a space sim? Cuz this thread is derailing. Oh yeah and I'm sorry for bringing up Star Trek. :"> It's just that Larry Holland, who designed Bridge Commander, was also behind X-Wing and Tie Fighter. And BC is not a bad game at all and neither is Elite Force. -
Fun With **** and Jane Jim Carey vehicle. Better than I expected, mildly funny and how can you hate something that pokes at Enron, Worldcom and other fraudulent bastards?

I'm fluent in Fellowship of the Ringness. And The Simpsons

Apparently this is very good. And what about Star Trek Bridge Commander... by Larry Holland? -
What I for one expect from future games.
astr0creep replied to Moribunny's topic in Obsidian General
Moribunny should try Wizardry 8. 6 player created characters, can be a combo of any class even a Faerie barbarian/mage, fully open-ended explorable world, varied environments, many skills and abilities for every character to learn, etc. The only problem I found with this game is the combat. Not that it's badly designed but there just is too much of it. You can often be attacked by over 30-40 leveled enemies at once even at the very start of the game, when your party of 6 is still lvl 2-3. Hard. -

Hades you just made my day whole again. -
My first thought was to immediately reply that NSync fans are just plain stupid. However that would be contradicting myself because all I know about NSync is that they are a boyband fabricated by executives, made up of gorgeous(I am secure enough in my manlyness to admit that) young guys to get little girls all excited and, by extension, their money as well. That being said, although I know I've heard NSync music before, I couldn't name one of their songs or name their members(pun intended) to save my life and therefore I cannot formulate an informed opinion of them. I do know I profoundly despise their type of "music" however and I somehow doubt anyone would be considered stupid for not showing interest in NSync...

It's a CRPG that isn't MMO. I'm getting it. Just like I would buy Metal Hearts or even Space Hack if I could find them(unless they are Starforce-ridden).
-
Maybe it's this one?

True on both counts. You can also be ignorant for lack of exposition to certain things in life. Simply not knowing about things. Saying Native Americans in 1492 were stupid because they never saw a mirror before would be somewhat elitist narrowmindedness, no? Of course, once exposed to, say, Bach, one chooses to learn about the man and his music or not, depending on one's interest in such things. However someone with a shred of common sense would at least try to learn more about Bach, if only to have an informed opinion/interest. Simply listening to a few notes and saying "oh I hate this classic crap" for example, is a lack of common sense and somewhat of intelligence. And it applies to anything, not just Bach's music. And I find it strange that you assume so quickly that I know next to nothing about classical and jazz music.
-
Wrong, and that only has to show how much you know about jazz or classical, which is propably nothing. In the words of Aaron Copland, there are tree different levels in the appreciation of music, tree different planes, which are as follows: 1) The sensual plane 2) The expressive plane 3) The sheerly musical plane The sensual and expressive plane is how most people in the pop world enjoy music. Infact, from a sheerly musical level, popular music is rather simple and straight forward, including metal for the most part, thus it doesn't suprise me that you would think intellect cannot be an important element in the appreciation of music. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps my intellect appreciates other things besides music like paintings, architecture, writings, history, cinematography? To know more about something than most people does not make you smarter. Being ignorant does not make one stupid. Staying ignorant, perhaps though.

I was saying luck or bad luck are relative things, an emotional response/state dependant on one's lifestyle. Of course I would assume that a person in a 3rd world country, who has an opportunity to come live here in North America(or Europe), would feel very lucky. But I'm not so sure, having seen and experienced their happyness. Perhaps luck is closely related to successes and failures and therefore dependant on one's definition of success and failure? All I know is when the Ice storm hit the Montreal region a few years ago, there were some days I felt very unlucky to be living here, mostly because it was impossible to sustain my lifestyle(no TV, no work, etc). And yet, some part of me felt lucky that, having lived in worse conditions before, there really was nothing to it.

Wether it's metal, rock, jazz, classical, I think Diamond is absolutely right, music is an emotional experience and it has nothing to do with intelligence. However, just like gaming, there are some people who can make the difference between a "Deer hunting sim" and a "World of Warcraft". But that has more to do with knowledge than intelligence, which should not be confused.
